US and Europe accuse China of overproduction and dumping electric cars on global market
The US and Europe have accused China of overproduction and dumping electric cars on the global market.
More than half of all new electric cars sold worldwide are from China and it can make them cheaper and faster than its competitors.
Europe is investigating putting tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles and the US have called them an 'existential threat' to America's auto industry.

capitalist countries complaining about capitalism.
😂😂😂so true
Right? What happened to the idea of healthy capitalist competition? It's the premise we are told that makes capitalism so great.
I know...that headline is so confusing lol.
Exactly 😂😂😂😅
At what point did zero product quality become the major driving part though? China made is a curse.
When China was making shoes and socks the US and Europe never complained about “overproduction or dumping”
and underwears 😂😂
Exactly, that's my point also
@@rpatel0074able they will say the same to India when India becomes a manufacturing powerhouse
nope- india is largest democratic government-mother of all democracy- no spying from India on usa not like china
😂😂😂😂
0:36 "And companies in the west are worried they can't compete " - Why is this China's problem?
Because the shareholders won't be happy and C-suite won't get more obscene bonuses on top of their already obscene bonuses.
Because it’s state-sponsored and co-ordinated, weaponising of the capitalism model. Also Xi has a huge personal stake in it. Subsidise, build cheap, flood overseas markets, destroy local competition. Rinse and repeat.
State sponsored and conscious decision by CCP to flood overseas markets. Capitalism weaponised. Xi had huge personal stake in green tech too. This trend already seen in other industries.

As an economist, it’s a strange concept that each country should only produce what its market can consume. If that is the case, why do we have trade?
Because the entire system is rigged so that everything is overpriced for an eternity and everyone is in permanent debt.
Not strange at all because China didn't follow the rules written by the US.
China electric car production is still well below their fossil fuel cars yearly sales. So the idea they are over producing is nonsense.
its just propaganda being spun by western news media influenced by expensive lobbyists
Because it has nothing to do with economics but maintaining the interests of politicians and connected "capitalists".
western countries are afraid of competitive markets? its not democratic
More so the cheap made China made products.
Their democracy needs to be re-evaluate
@@neilnelson7603 please learn to speak English for the English website.
There is nothing competitive about the CCP. Cheap slave labour, stolen IP, heavily discounted export costs and more all lead to a predatory form of sales. For example Temu is designed to destroy small businesses in the West by flooding the market with extremely cheap goods that they have no hope of competing with. This isn't the early 2000's where the CCP could take advantage of the West, whilst painting them as the chief enemy to a domestic audience.
They went from being 'democracies' to 'Plutocracies' where the Oligarchs rule ,decades ago. But they still pretend to be Democracies to keep the majority fooled.
Anytime China is leading in something the western world starts going against them😂
If the quality is China made, then ya it should be pointed out how garbage it is.

China only exports less than 20% of their NEV. G7 and its allies export 70% of their cars. It's underperforming Gangster 7 group. Yet they labeled China as overcapacity.
At least they are producing cars instead of tanks, ammunitions...

They always use the word cheap to try and make it seem like it's trash! The real word is inexpensive!
Also 'affordable' or 'good value'
Typical word play from propagandists
Very disgusting accusation.
A very good accusation. The CCP has bargained on Western ignorance for too long.

And the sheer irony of capitalist countries complaining to a communist country for being an expert at capitalism. 😂😂😂
If there was really dumping of EVs, why are EVs still so expensive here?
Cost of shipping transport and middle man importer profit margin.
Plus the law of demand Vs supply.
Because all the woke virtue signallers still buy them…..😂
Why sell cheaper when there isnt much competition?
Ora 03 on lease is cheapest EV in the market. Cheaper than a petrol 208

They are over represented in the military killing industry

Isn't that what capitalism is all about!
That's what they feed to the sheeple. What it's really about is monopolies and total market domination.
Communist China, that’s not forget that. When they’re strong, they will take what they want.
Hey we don’t want that in the U.S. consumers are happy to pay for overpriced vehicles 😂😅

😂CC commitment ? 29-3-2024, Biden’s $7.5 billion investment in EV charging has only produced 7 stations in two years. After two years, that program has only delivered seven open charging stations with a total of 38 spots where drivers can charge their vehicles, according to a spokesperson for the Federal Highway Administration. (The funding should be enough to build up to 20,000 charging spots or around 5,000 stations, according to analysis from the EV policy analyst group Atlas Public Policy.)
Everyone can tell US cars are over priced. It's not that Chinese cars are cheap
Pure jealous from US and Europe😂
It wasn't long ago a 60 inch tv was 5000 dollars at Best Buy. And Sony priced themselves into oblivion. When Chrysler is asking over 50 grand for a Jeep, things need to come way down.
Seen a 60inch TV the other day for 600 euro... 50inch was 450... There wasn't even a sale and the shop is a rip off. First plasma tv in my country was 50,000euro 😅
@byrne1916 Ironically the only mass produced electronic to really inflate is a flagship phone. Almost 2000 dollars for an s24 ultra in Canada, way more than a 50 inch tv, and more than most laptops. crazy expensive.

Well said. Quote borrowed.

All of a sudden, it's not about climate change anymore :)
The funny thing is US and EU are protecting their low tech car brands.

Isnt dumping "cheap green technology product" good for the world?
Not when it is big bad Chyna doing the 'dumping'!!!

A communist beating capitalists at their own game
Today, car no longer for Elite only. Now everyone can afford to own an EV from China's. Thanks China.
They are helping the common man! ❤
Overcapacity of whinging at others by the Yanks.
Theres just no satisfying some countries wow. UK is pushing for EV's hard but theyre overpriced and Taxed heavily. The world pushes for more EV cars for cleaner energy: China: "Ok sure we'll work with that, make it as cheap as we can so everyone can access them" US and Europe: "Err no, only we should profit from this"
It's going to tank their industry. Loss of jobs etc. 😮
I am hoping "overcapacity" & "intense competition" will eventually mean affordable automobiles (50% off current price) for average Americans
There worried about loosing all there profits and having to lower the prices of the very expensive cars all I can say is China keep up the good work bringing affordable cars to the market
Us and Europe cant keep up and its getting them upset
They're lagging behind in technology.
What about Apple and Microsoft overproduction ?
Western countries are unable to compete with china😂😂😂.
Great , one day I may afford an EV at an affordable price. Rather than the overpriced cars in Europe
Free trade was good as long the US and Europe dominated the markets; now that they are facing a serious competitor who is beginning to outperform them they are falling back into their old European mercantilist way of thinking and are putting down the shutters.
Capitalists complaining about Competition 😂😂😂 to Communists 😂😂😂... 😅😅😅
This is absolutely insane. It’s really telling when countries that are supposed to be pro-protecting the environment, are against another country and producing the vehicles that are supposed to be better for it. I’m against the Chinese communist party and don’t want to support them, but even I know the planet as a whole is more important and I would be totally willing to buy one of these cars if it falls within my price range, versus ludacris prices For EV we are still expected to pay some companies here in the West.👌🏼 Give me one.
Don’t be so hard on the CCP. The CCP had brought 800 mil Chinese out of poverty. China per capita was the same as India in 1949, now it is 5 times higher. The CCP have 90 mil members in China and they are the country’s elite. The CCP had build China with patriotic bureaucrats that are smart and not corrupted. As compared to many third world country. I am a Malaysian and I travel to China often for hols. The CCP practices modern socialism that lifted the country. No homeless, mandatory education, cheap university fees , universal healthcare etc .
Very well done China. It is free market in a free world.
😂😂😂 the US and EU jist cant compete with China anymore😂😂😂Now China has got them by the throat, and people will just buy cheap EV from china😂
I have sat in BYD and Tessla, BYD is really good.
US should stop printing excess dollar notes.
Good, we need competitive prices and affordable electric cars, instead of lining the pockets of Elon Musk and his investors. Let China compete for the green tech, we need it.
The question to ask: is it a good or bad thing for the consumers ?
absolutely good for customer but bad for politicians😅
This is plaza accord all over again, but luckily, unlike the Japanese, Chinese people does not bow down.
The bully hate losing
Excellent well done, 🇨🇳 China. A government with a clear plan and focus. For the Western countries, they got what they wanted. Cheap EVs.

So bad news is China making EV more affordable for the average buyer? Their helping us meet carbon zero sooner?
China only exports a fraction of the cars the produce, Germany exports nearly 70 % 9f their cars , Japan almost 50% percent😂so anyone with two brain cells can see through this 'overcapacity' nonsense 🤦🏾♂️😂the world needs electric vehicles💁🏾♂️😂
Incapacity to challenge overcapacity.

If this is true, isnt this good news for US consumers and their environment? The west had the same misguided attitude when the japanese start to build better cheaper vehicles in the 80's. Partner up with China rather than try to compete.
These hypocrites complain about environment China overproduction of EV n solar panels more cheap n reliable EV so many people can afford to drive n put solar panels more vis better 😂😂😂
should we talk about the overproduction on weapons and dollar paper?
This us and eu is out of the line...

Western countries/companies have been outsourcing manufacturing of everything from socks to iphones to China for decades. It's a bit late complaining or doing anything about it now.

Gotta love propagandist words like "overproduction" and "dumping".
Isn't that the whole point if buissness flood the market with your product
I own china made ev and i thank them for selling in good price. What's the problem with us and eu?
In Europe, most of the citizens can not even afford to buy a modest new normal car. EVs are definitely out of question. And when the cheap alternative is available, they are shutting the door on us. So from now on, nobody can talk about green transition when the cheap green alternative was banned by the very leaders who wanted to force this green nightmare on us.
But in U.S.A. are forbidden
The Chinese have done their homework and that's a bitter pill to swallow for the west
Just because they can’t catch up 😂😂😂 us jealous
Seriously US 😂
what about weapons n military base in other countries
How come the price by dealers are not cheaper?
Let’s everyone use Car… Make it cheap.. Make it Green..
Most important is people being happy about cheaper cars. That's what matters right?
That's what we call exports. Like what BMW, Volvo and Ford have been doing for the past 50 years.
Tension? WTH? Isn't it a fair competition?
There is no competition. There is a market for disposable cars. this is just like the bike sharing strategy
Western and American companies know this competition won't favor them.
Let’s see where those parts come from 3 to 4 years in office the life of that car
The US just enacted the chips act, subsidising firms to setup shop in the US? It's a state subsidy?
