The US and Europe have accused China of overproduction and dumping electric cars on the global market.

Europe is investigating putting tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles and the US have called them an 'existential threat' to America's auto industry.

    • There is nothing competitive about the CCP. Cheap slave labour, stolen IP, heavily discounted export costs and more all lead to a predatory form of sales. For example Temu is designed to destroy small businesses in the West by flooding the market with extremely cheap goods that they have no hope of competing with. This isn't the early 2000's where the CCP could take advantage of the West, whilst painting them as the chief enemy to a domestic audience.

After two years, that program has only delivered seven open charging stations with a total of 38 spots where drivers can charge their vehicles, according to a spokesperson for the Federal Highway Administration. (The funding should be enough to build up to 20,000 charging spots or around 5,000 stations, according to analysis from the EV policy analyst group Atlas Public Policy.)

  • If this is true, isnt this good news for US consumers and their environment? The west had the same misguided attitude when the japanese start to build better cheaper vehicles in the 80's. Partner up with China rather than try to compete.

  • In Europe, most of the citizens can not even afford to buy a modest new normal car. EVs are definitely out of question. And when the cheap alternative is available, they are shutting the door on us. So from now on, nobody can talk about green transition when the cheap green alternative was banned by the very leaders who wanted to force this green nightmare on us.
