  • Smaller clubs don’t want replays they want the money that replays bring. Fair enough.

    • So changing the proportion of revenue for tickets (e.g. full 100% revenue for home game and 30% more away fan allocation) and bigger TV revenue. Sorted. If the 60-70% of the games resulted in replays sure, I'd understand the fuss but the number is much lower than that so ....

    • Our smaller clubs both want the replays (for the occasion, memories etc) and need the money. Many of my fondest, formative memories as a young Carlisle fan, were drawing away at Sunderland and bringing them back to BP. Those occasions have a huge affect on a fan’s affinity for the club. So I disagree, we do want replays.

  • I think the lower league clubs need to realise this actually helps them massively, as normally If they get a home time on their not so good pitches against a top side who likely fields a weakened team, they get to settle a tie on their home soil rather and keep momentum of a home ground than going away from home where they most likely will get battered which means more money for a better chance of progressing.

    @jimmideerichards9554@jimmideerichards955428 күн бұрын
    • This is clearly a big club fan mentality. I couldn’t care less if we get battered 5-0 in a replay at the emirates or old Trafford, the very fact we got to go there and watch my team play against a massive club and make a weekend of the event is big enough by itself, if we score a goal then great but the match itself is the event for fans of small clubs like me

    • @@sirsurnamethefirstofhisnam7986 ok yeah I see your point, but still when it comes to the financial side, it’s more rewarding for your club/owner to progress through the tournament as people don’t really understand the difference in prize money each round you progress, especially for a lower league team, that’s a huge difference, so the people running the club don’t really care about your guys having an away day, all the care about is money, and the reason most clubs are not liking this idea, is because should the tie be a reverse and a away game, the chance of them progressing and having the ability to compete for some decent winnings is out the window. Mark my words, after all this drama, if the FA or the premier league offer the lower league club more money for this to stick, then you’ll see every single club agree to it. As sad as it is, clubs don’t put fans interests top of the priority, only money.

No one has agreed or even spoke about the possibility of this, he just recommended it as a hypothetical, yet no one on the show questions it, they take it as Gospel. At this rate, you could just invent any form of compensation to clubs and have it accepted as whats going to happen. Its how this show works. Its basically glorified gossip coming out his mouth.

The way they have been treated by various officials has been nothing but disgusting. Every fan can expect one or two huge injustices per season due to weak and ineffectual refereeing or woeful VAR individuals sat over at Stockley Park but these guys seem to follow Forest around everywhere they go and their gross incompetence could yet see them relegated. If so, they'll know more than most just how tough it is getting back to the promised land.

Why is the conversation about a lower league club depending on the lottery of drawing a game, rather than improving revenues for these ties so that this doesn’t need to happen? Every time I've seen a small club get a big result and draw against a big PL team in the FA Cup, the replay has gone the way of the bigger team. The big upsets I've seen have happened in the first match. WHY? Because the smaller club has a better chance of progressing over 1 leg than 2. This is common knowledge. • @@anthonyanthonyccarr3356 the occasion has not been removed. The draw is still there. And the giant killing can still happen. If the clubs could get the equivalent financial support a replay might bring (replays are not that many by the way), they’d all be better off. I’m all for replays but if they do go, there needs to be better compensation

  • They have the chance to beat big teams once, if you cant do it tough. Game has moved on hardly any make the third round anyway and very few get further, the money they my earn will maybe let them survive a year, there is a reason you are in debt you are not good enough..
