  • Guys!!! Goggles when you use a pressure washer!!! We don't want you guys in the hospital! My friend washed her windows with a pressure washer and ended up with a very teeny piece of metal in her eye! She never knew....thought it was allergies because her eye was red and itchy! That little metal had started rusting by the time she saw her eye doctor!!!! OMG! Sorry for being a nagging mom....but I am a mom!!! Hugs from Montreal!

  • I’ve worn many hats in my lifetime and once upon a time I built ponds and water gardens. If you’re having a difficult time keeping your fountain sparkling clean water, put copper in it. You could probably find some old pieces and just place them in the bottom of the pond. It would be a large expense but you could also have a liner made that would cover the bottom and go up the sides too. Copper is naturally antimicrobial, and won’t grow lichens either. If you decide to put fish in it, the copper won’t hurt them either. Clean sparkly water without chemicals. I once placed an old copper water heater from a wood stove in one and that did the trick. That pond was deeper (4ft) than yours so you couldn’t see it as it sat on the bottom.

    • Great idea; I had copper in my pond and it truly helped. I did it after one of my fish (algae-eater) actually choked on the algae piece he tried to eat. (Yes, we did bury him in a little fish grave behind the pond under the honeysuckle shrub)

Gardeners, musicians, dancing people... People all over, things happening and the Chateau in all its newfound glory. I do think, he and Stephanie shared the dream, of what could be - and it came true! Gardeners in the gardens, people dancing, music - and projects galore. • As fun as it could be to put the radish green in the compost bin, you can make a ¨Potage aux feuilles de radis¨. My grandmother use to do this with ¨2 bottes de feuilles de radis, 2 cuil. à soupe de beurre, 4 pommes de terre coupées finement et 4 tasses de bouillons de volaille. Fondre le beurre, ajouter les feuilles, pommes de terres et bouillon et mijoter 45 min. Blend all with a hand blender and add 1 cup of cream or whole milk, salt and pepper and serve with garlic croûtons as a garnish. Delicieux!!! Now, the tiles are beautiful and the floor will be stunning!!!

  • Stephanie I have a set of 146 year old Copeland plates, would you like two of them as they are such a beautiful piece of Spode history and the chateau, I do believe needs them 🥰🥰🥰 they are blue and white and the pattern is the two temples they are stunning x

  • If you soak the tiles too long they will suck up the water and break easier? I wish you were wearing masks while dealing with cement dust and bird poo. 😳

    • Yes, a wetting with the power wash & steel wire & a rinse might work better

    • Also eye protection. You can get scars on your eyes. For being around bird poop. I have scars on my eyes and that's what caused it. My eye doctor said.

  • My goodness, those stonemasons are so good. That wall was as straight as a die. And well done with the tile-soaking, all of you - you deserved a glass of wine at lunchtime. And as for those those cheeses... .yum!

  • Ian made me think of what my elder sisters used to yell across from our house to their friend's house (4 houses north): "400! House of Nuts!" and the response was always: "520! House of Cards!" Great memories and there is nothing wrong with living in a house of fun-loving people......on the contrary, it helps morale, especially during this crazy pandemic times!

  • Really good work day there outside. The cuteness of the day was to see Ruby and Diesel laying on the little carpet in front of Selmar's "home". They are like two best friends, Selmar has a dog but now, he has another member of his family in Ruby who adopted Selmar for the good food and care and love and from Diesel in which he found a friend.
