Muhammad Ali thrilled us in the ring, and inspired us out of it. One of the most influential people in sports history, Ali was dominant in the ring against the likes of Liston and Foreman. He was even more powerful in his stance against the Vietnam war, when he gave up years of the prime of his career to take a stand against a war no one wanted. This video covers the complete career of the Greatest, Muhammad Ali.

“Ali had the strength to speak in a time you could be silenced” Very well said.
Those were scary times for Us in those years. Known and unknown we're being killed or sent to prison never to be heard of again. He stood up for a whole nation not just our people, so we all stood up spiritually young and old. G.O.A.T. R.I.P. The people's champion for real...
@@CopperAboriginies It's still hard to comprehend just what he did to this day. To defy a government that were assassinating everybody from their own presidents to civil rights leaders and everything else in between.,. Sometimes it just takes one person with the courage and fortitude to voice what an entire nation is too scared to say and it's true..You could literally make a documentary about several aspects of his life..Absolutely insane.. The fact that he was the worlds finest ever boxer doesn't even matter..I can't get over the sheer magnitude of this brother

This decreased his chances of being caught with a clean blow and, at the same time, tired his opponent. If you want to lose your soul and freedom vote for Mohammed. .Mohammed's real name was Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. His Father's name was Cassius Marcellus Clay Sr... His GrandFather named his son Cassius Marcellus Clay due to his admiration of Cassius Marcellus Clay a nicknamed the "Lion of White Hall", was a Kentucky planter, politician, and emancipationist who worked for the abolition of slavery. He freed the slaves that were handed down as his inheritance from his father. It was a name of honor. But instead Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. changed his name to Mohammed Ali after a white African slave merchant that captured enslaved and sold his ancestors around the world and Islam's followers are holding 27 million slaves today.
Michael Stein he traded a name of honour to another name of honour. What’s your point? Muhammad is a name of honour in Islam. And plus get away with that islamophobic shit. Slavery did not occur due to Islamic beliefs. The slavery you’re talking about happened due to Arab cultural beliefs. Remember that Arab does not equal Muslim

Fact is he got off lucky, anyone else that dodged the draft like he did went to prison, but he didn't. As a celebrity he would've been given a safe, easy job much like Elvis was. @@matposton87 I think you missed the whole point of why he refused to go. And even if he had a celebrity status, he was still black and at a very different time than now. This was a civil rights movement. At a time when vocal black people was being assassinated. He wasn't scared of dying. He wanted rights, and not just for him, for all black people. He used his platform and status to stand up knowing very well he could be the next black person in America with the target on their head. Might as well stand up for what's right and what you believe in and die on American soil than go to a war that has nothing to do with you and take a bullet there. If you truly believe he would've gotten a gravy job being a celebrity, you've got to admit, he took a bigger chance by standing up and chancing assassination than going to war then.

Yes we missed his presious 3.5years of boxing. But the world saw great human being in those 3.5 years
You can thank racist America for that smh

If he had remained Cassius Clay, we would have saw the best of him. He never would have been reclassified. Sorry he did remain Cassius Clay. He never legally changed his name. What a waste of 3.5 years!
When talking about his legendary speed, Ali once said "I was so quick, when I went to bed I could turn out the light and be in bed befote the room was dark !" Bravo Ali, R.I.P.

I was blessed to meet Ali at a banquet, Mapledale, and honored by his signing my boxing gloves. I truly love him, respect his ability and titles and especially his humor and compassion. He certainly was right, that as he liked to say himself, he was the champion, and a handsome one. May we always cherish his memory, and may his family be blessed by Most High Creator!! Love forever, Louisville KY lip!
The United States robbed the entire world of 3 of Ali's best boxing years!!! Just imagine.. all the greatmess he achieved including his refusal to go to war but just imagine WHAT IF he could have reigned supreme with the title his entire career like he would have an like he did after...what a hero

@@dicktracy3439 That is a really dumb thing to say. He probably would have been targeted by the VC and killed.
@Eisa Adil People get killed in war zones, regardless of why they are there...perhaps the odds were less, but that's it. He objected to the whole endeavour on moral/religious grounds, so motivating soldiers was not something he would be willing to do.

Ali is like he prophesized "I'm bigger than boxing" His courage is peerless. I literally love Muhummad Ali.
I absolutely love Ali he’s is unquestionably the greatest of all time, I love when George Forman tries to intimidate Ali and Ali says “ oh George you were in school when I was beating Sonny Liston”🤣.
Sonny Liston was 40 years old (he took a dive twice in a fixed fight). Archie Moore's age was listed 49 at the time of the Ali fight. Ali is overrated. He fought light heavyweights throughout his career and many contraversial decisions and many fixed fights. He lost all three times to Ken Norton (realistically) and once to Smoking Joe and never gave a rematch to Foreman.
He is not greatest of all there are many better than him.
@Freddie MercuryGeorge Foreman and many boxing purists, including myself, state that Norton won all three fights. Ali's 2 wins over Norton were diisputed by many, including by Ali himself.

ali was special. unique in or out of a ring, the best human on the planet in his age. society today could learn a lot from following his philosophy on life. AN EXAMPLE FOR ALL.
Just imagine when the gates of heaven opened and Ali screaming the champ is here the champ is here!! R.I.P. Ali you truly were the greatest!
AND STILL IS... No one can be the greatest Ali, man the name said it all
Heaven belongs to Jesus and those who are covered by his blood. He is the king.. I hate to say but Ali didn’t believe on the only name that gets you into heaven. His world affairs did not save him. I loved him. But he followed the wrong god. Jesus is God.
MikeyD503 unfortunately. But let’s think more positively since neither of us know him personally. He could of made that choice for the better before he died
John Lewis agreed. Just sucks that we as humans think everyone is just going to heaven... :/ when it’s far from the actual truth.
MikeyD503 well if Ali’s going to hell for being a good person, being Ali, I would worry more for whatever is in hell when he comes swinging! Champ is here!!! Ali bomaye!!
If he didn't miss those 4 years he would have easily finished his career undefeated.
Well it's a possibility he would've stayed undefeated. You never know if someone would've got lucky and knocked him out. So you can't say for sure he would've been undefeated.

“I will show you how great I am!”
Ali once said "Braggin' is when a person says something and can’t do it. I do what I say.” There are few people who can honestly say this. The man stood up to impossible odds both in and out of the ring and risked everything for his beliefs and convictions. I don't really idiolize many celebrities. They often may be special in a specific art, sport, business etc but that doesn't make them great people imo. Even musicians I love at the time, like John Lennon, did a lot more than their art but still I hold tempered regard for many reasons. But damn if there isn't anyone else like Ali who was a true to his convictions as he was and could back up all that confidence and bravado with just as much skill and fortitude; even when everyone would tell if threaten him that it's the "wrong" choice We don't get many real heroes in the modern age when the lives of legends are accurately documented, most of ours need to be written or discussed with asterisks. But not Ali. The one man who not only could never be backed in a corner, but would turn it to his advantage and make you pay for it. Like any person he wasn't perfect and made plenty of mistakes, but even then he's one, if not *THE,* realist and greatest.
