@@Thee_Mack it's all about Rick not implementing any way of control of the situation. He probably did all of this pickle shenanigans in one minute after he remembered about this therapy. He didn't even hide the syringe or programmed any security measures in case he would be moved by Beth or Morty.

Plus didn’t Morty move him out of the way of where the syringe would have landed?
If anything, it was extremely lucky Beth took the syringe, because otherwise, it would have fallen on nothing, and most likely would have broken or wasted it's pressious liquid on the table, depending on its structural integrity. Then Rick would have been PROPER screwed, since he just barely managed to survive long enough to give himself a sort-of body and get to therapy, and then he would have had to also get home and whip up an antidote before Jackal's wound finished him off.
I like how they're just so *unimpressed* he's a pickle, and they're just like "why?"
Frankly I can relate. If my late grandpa would have made such a thing, I'd have asked him "Why pull the rug out from under Alzheimer ?"

I love how this became an extremely annoying phenomenon from the trailer alone but when you actually watch the episode it's meant to be the exact opposite, it's meant to be underwhelming. One of the show's best episodes.

I actually understood this first time. I’m kinda smart for 13 so idk but basically anybody would do this because they couldn’t normally. I love that Beth can't stomach outright owning her annoyance with her father in this scene, but has no problems taking it out on him nonverbally by taking the syringe that everyone knows is set up to restore him to human form. Passive aggression at it's finest.
In an alternate universe, Pickle Rick turned himself into a human to get out of vegetable counseling. According to the vast and expansive knowledge of the internet, pickles can actually be considered either vegetables, fruit, berries, or all of the above. It's incredible how this is how he decides to get out of therapy. He could have pretended to be sick or gone off on some mission or whatever but instead Rick decides to turn himself into a small, fragile, immobile pickle of all things. He's ironically made himself more vulnerable to avoid opening up to a therapist. What's even funnier is how, in spite of having previously built far more advanced technology and having done something as impossible as turning himself into a talking pickle, he sets up a crude Home-Alone looking doohickey that's not even well-hidden to deliver the syringe. Either Rick just got lazy or he really underestimates how intelligent the rest of his family is.
It's insane just how much of a classic TV moment this will become remembered.
