    • Zamorah kalize. No, she is better than them. Make no mistake about it, her hand eye coordination and attacking tennis is unbelievable and she is fun to watch, actually she is an exceptional talent. Great hands, touch, use of angles and using pace. But she can still improve her serve. That's why she struggled to hold today (and in the USO). Once she gets more MPH on it and develops the consistency, look out. But until that happens I'm really excited to see what she can do on clay. A high bounce may impact her forehand but she takes the ball so early it may not be a issue. Her serve does not need MPH on clay, more placement and angles but she needs to improve it on faster surfaces

    @roysantiago9131@roysantiago91312 жыл бұрын
    • Leylah has the foot speed and taking the ball on the rise that takes the opponents time and redirect the shots consistently... So, she wins games because of her adequate mental and tactical habit and that has nothing to do with her physical structure.

      @coacherful@coacherful2 жыл бұрын
    • yeah but thats people who dont understand tennis. Its the obession of the late 80's into 90s, unless you hit the crap out of the ball its not a good shot. Fact is hard hitters can be bouncced all across the court you just take the power and redirect - take the ball early and the 'heavy hitter' nicely tires themselves out for you :)

I couldn't stand watching LF over the past few years as she has progressed up the rankings, as her pre-serve routine drove me nuts. However, her determination, fight, focus, and personality have won me over. I hope she can continue to get these results and progress her game further.

    • Same as Nadal, right? I thought the same, but Leylah has an advantage as she is very small (meaning light) compared to men with big muscles so hopefully it will help her not get injured 'that' often.

    • Literally anyone would’ve had to play 3 if they wanted to win against Pavs today she was hitting winners left and right and not to mention she’s only had to play those 3 setters against top 20 and 10 opposition which for obvious reasons is hard to do.

    • @@lilnickydabaddest3451 True, although as a top 50 player, I'd imagine one would find themselves playing top 20 players often enough. She's just had to grunt it out so many times recently, going for near impossible returns. Plus, it seems like opponents are really learning that they can exploit the corner on her backhand side. She almost always goes for it, but ends up in some very awkward body postures as a result. That's what has me a little concerned.
