  • Xbox VRR Range is 30Hz to 120Hz on compatible Screens. The LG CX does support 40Hz to 120Hz. I should make this more clear in my Video. I apologise for that !

    • I have the same TV and was going to point out its VRR range is 40 and above. Which TV's that have VRR range 30 to 120, must have been a reason xbox's VRR range went that low.

  • Xbox automatically doubles / triples frames where possible. Even if the VRR range is 40-120, Xbox will attempt to double / triple to stay at the high end of the range where possible. This is ideal, because most overdrive settings are optimized around the upper end of the VRR range. I believe NVIDIA also does the same with non-GSync (e.g. FreeSync / HDMI VRR displays); they don’t do it with a real GSync module, because the module can do the doubling and tripling itself. With FreeSync / HDMI VRR, the source is required to do the frame double / tripling / LFC.

  • This explains it all very much! I have a LG C1 and I've always had 120hz. I couldn't figure out why it felt laggy when I switched to 60hz while playing in Graphics mode on XSX. Now I know it can triple frames with LFC. It's honestly very impressive tech. I always took VRR for granted coming from high end gaming monitors and PC, and now it's standard for Xbox and I have a TV to support it, it really makes most games play much smoother than when pushing the resolution and graphics higher.

    • @@grayfoxdiekilla1934 no it's still natively rendering at 60 fps, it is doubling the frames, but that means that each frame is repeated in 120 hz output. so what would be one frame on a 60 hz mode is now two of the same frame in 120 hz. I hope that makes sense.

Isn't it very likely no TV is able to do that because the consoles just put out a value after it already processed vrr and lfc before it sends the signal to the TV.

  • Are you accessing the VRR information via a hidden menu? I have an LG G2, the game bar does show if VRR is enabled and it supposedly shows the frame rate, but it seems to only show a fixed FPS number I assume based on the refresh rate. I have a PS5 connected directly to the TV, Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart shows a constant 119FPS from the LG G2 game bar and Uncharted 4 shows a constant 60FPS but with VRR enabled in the game bar (unsupported game?); I don't trust this. I've told the PS5 to use VRR on unsupported games but it doesn't enable for Forbidden West, so perhaps that game has explicitly blocked VRR functionality. VRR appears to be working in Ratchet & Clank because the latest patch significantly improved 120Hz mode performance. Your VRR info readout appears to be better than the latest LG game bar info. Edit: Found your video on pressing the green button to get the VRR info window.

Now if you game on any other picture setting other than "game mode" example standard, cinema. You'll see the game looks decent at 1440p, 1080p. Though you'll get a first glimpse at the major input lag while gaming. You want to avoid this on FPS multi-player games.

Now if you notice the picture looks hazy. Go into the tv settings under external devices, and turn off game enhancer options. This is where the extra post processing is coming from. It's adding non relevant contrast, sharpness that's not nedded. The description says it I think. Set the hdmi black level to 0 as well This settings should look decent. Though you may have to max out the back light to max on game mode. I think the default color tone is 'standard" if it's too blue change to Warm 1, or 2. And elden ring runs at 120fps on the Xbox Series X. • I haven't watched the videos, but could he be talking about motion interpolation? You can achieve this by not using game mode. Say on Cinema mode. You can achieve the illusion of smoothness by making The so called "Soap Opera" effect. The downside is you will get tremendous ghosting effects on your character.

      @Mopantsu@Mopantsu2 жыл бұрын
    • Well your first problem if you wanted the best FPS is that you should have gotten a Series X as it has more powerful hardware. That is what gives you higher frame rates. VRR only causes your displays refresh rate to match what is being output by your console. So basically it only just hides frame rate fluctuations. • Summary of this VIDEO: VRR in PS5 works in range 48-120Hz (little range, if compared to PC and xbox). Often during any game the fps drop below 48 hz for small intervals of time). Under 48hz VRR is automatically disabled and so you can have shuttering on your screen, so the LFC tecnology have to solve the problem. In Xbox and PC, the LFC works fine, while LFC on PS5 is not implemented. My answer to the video: LFC can be implemented in PS5 by single DEVELOPERS (It is decision of each developer to add or not LFC on their game). At the moment PS5 is very much at a disadvantage compared to XBOX and PC, but in the future it could improve the range of the VRR and implement the LFC permanently. Xbox supports VRR even on TV/monitor with HDMI 2.0, while PS5 forces you to spend thousands of euros for a model with hdmi 2.1.

  • Playing the PS4 version on a PS5 is the only real way to get locked 60fps in Elden Ring. The PS4’s unlocked frame rate gets locked to 60fps on PS5, just like PS5 does with the PS4 version of Sekiro. It sucks that Microsoft doesn’t allow stuff like this apparently. You can’t choose to play the previous gen version on Xbox Series X because it automatically defaults to the XSX version. I own a PS5 and a Xbox Series X, but it’s definitely nice to have the option to do this, which Microsoft prevents.

    • Why would you want to play the XB1 version of the game on SX? The XB1 version is the WORST version.

  • LFc isn't on the ps5... it's on the Xbox ...bottom line LFC is a good thing and not having it means that the ps5 version would look worse not better. Seems to me that you are downselling this advantage because playstaiton doesn't have it. Just be more neutral and less biased about playstation. Ps5 is good at things and xbox is good at things. No need to downplay anything about them.

    • I am trying to be neutral. LFC is a must have IMO . And I said in my Ghostwire Video that IF LFC would not work on the PS5 would be a big fail! And I said it in thus video as well .
