    • Would love a recap on your roof situation. I know you had it fix in one episode but then it was still leaking because the company messed up the install? I jumped around a few videos so it’s entirely possible I missed the conclusion on the roof situation.

  • It's absolutely amazing that you're helping your neighbor. I'd love to see the video tour of her house because the staircase there is so beautiful. I grew up in times when there wasn't so many things available and my family taught me not to throw away anything that can be fixed. And thanks to you and your videos I learned that even if something looks terribly broken there's still hope to repair it.

    • Same here. I have an old wardrobe that was sold to me as a 1980's wardrobe. I'm starting to think it's from the 50s (I'm not sure, I'm not an expert). But some pieces have been damaged and I thought I needed to get a lot of pieces redone. I followed Caleb's idea of restoring the outer wood panels from the front windows with wood filler. I managed to save a wood panel from inside the wardrobe. There's still a lot of work to be done, but I'm happy that I think I know how to do it now ☺

  • Certainly in the UK there are companies that will restore cast iron bathtubs by sand blasting them then properly re-enamelling them, one of my friends had it done over 30 years ago and it still looks good. I would imagine there are similar companies in the USA.

  • You are able to do this full time? That's great news! I was a bit worried that you'd get burnt out if you had a full time job and then, when the working hours were over, you had to work even more. But by being able to do this as your full time job, it'll probably be better for you and your family in the long run. Also: the seasons idea is brilliant. I have stumbled upon other channels that have episodes that run in the 100s, and it is a bit overwhelming to try to figure out what I need and want to watch.

I love watching both your channel and Kim's! You both are super sweet individuals and grateful for everything that's come your way. You absolutely deserve the recognition. These houses take immense amount of time, money, and passion to bring back to the way they were. Watching you guys do this has made me excited to redo aspects of our own house (ours was built in the 1940s). We have some very basic things to do by comparison however I love watching what you guys do for taking care of older wood along with paint removal. Our previous owners decided that painters tape was optional and after 20 years of that...it's all over the wood trim and well everything else around it. Please keep up what you're doing! I'd absolutely love to stop down and say hello. I'm from Wisconsin and can bring cheese curds and beer.

  • Love the newel post! It’s perfect! Thanks for helping your neighbor - a big part of why we love you and Kim. 💖 Her staircase is so pretty - how great that you’re able to help her out with her childhood home. I’m sure she’s very grateful. That tub! You showed it before, but I don’t think so close up and in such detail. It should be so interesting to watch you repair and reconstruct that top wood rail. It’s going to be so handsome and fit into the house perfectly! Can’t wait for the anniversary recap! ❤️🎄❤️

  • Merry Christmas and greetings for your season. I'm glad you liked the ornaments. I hope you get more. It's also fun to decorate with Christmas cards (usually postcards) from the 1890-1910 period. When we had a big tree we mixed the antique cards and the antique ornaments. I first followed you on your second post because you gave off the vibe of a caring person who loved history, architecture, and giving back. I've not been disappointed ever and look forward to the next season.
