Foreign Minister S Jaishankar engaged in a heated exchange with a reporter over Canada. The reporter repeatedly questioned Jaishankar on Canadian PM Justin Trudeau’s ‘India killed Nijjar’ charge as she sought clarification from the minister whether New Delhi had received any documents from Ottawa supporting its allegations. As the reporter tried to answer another question, Jaishankar said, “I won’t answer your second question.”

  • Reporter was looking for a validation from JS, to which a third person has no authority to ask either party. Either she should go by her info from Canadian Authority or by Indian authority. She holds no authority to audit any bilateral transaction whatsoever in diplomatic matters like this. JS answer was perfect being an exemplary diplomat .

  • When foreign ministers or representatives of the other nations are quiestioned, their voices are dubbed when they answer. At time, false dubbing is done in the media to promote the western agenda. Best part about being in india is that this isnt at all applicable to us, as our representatives can give these idiots, the responses they deserve, in their own langauge, a language which most of the world can understand. It does make a difference i feel.

  • “You’re saying you’ve never familiarised yourself with the documents…” That itself shows us that she wasn’t going into this question looking for a simple yes/no answer. She was looking for a ‘gotcha’ moment. This is why I abhor activists turned journalists. No objectivity. No professionalism. No patience. Just pure ideology. To make matters worse (for herself), she clearly underestimated Dr Jaishankar, who is a seasoned diplomat first and foremost, and then a very capable foreign minister.

  • Im not sure if she understood the nature of the event as every participant was given one question but she was under the assumption this was some sort of an interview. Also what she failed to grasp was Dr Jaishankar had already answered her question but she again asked the same by which it meant she wasted her opportunity of asking him a question on a topic which he dint address. Certain American and Canadian media are desperately trying to shield and defend Trudeau but its not working and has backfired spectacularly. So you can see their story isn't consistent and it keeps changing. Massive red flag was when Trudeau ignored India when he newly came to power and pursued a progressive trade deal with China only for it to fall through. India cannot expect better relations with Canada as long as Trudeau and Jagmeet are part of the government.
