I don't think you guys realize that this is just nature. Sparrowhawks and crows are natural enemies. Just like Lions and Hyenas. Oh! I almost forgot that you guys romanticize that rivalry and act like lions don't torture and rip the spines out of hyenas. And if he helped the crow he would get attacked by the sparrowhawk and the sparrowhawk would go hungry or starve because he couldn't eat the crow.

É compreensível defender os animais domésticos dos predadores. Mas a defesa de um meio ambiente equilibrado se faz com a não interferência. Aqui em casa há um casal de gaviões carcarás há quase cinquenta anos. Eles fazem o ninho, caçam outros pássaros, cobras e insetos e quando os filhotes ficam adultos vão embora. Há tucanos que comem os filhotes dos outros pássaros, há pássaros pretos que destroem os ovos do sabiá e botam os seus ovos para a mãe sabiá chocar, há garças maria-faceira que comem as cobras... O tucano vai ao ninho da pomba e luta com ela para roubar-lhe os ovos. Ele poderia matá-la com facilidade, mas não o faz, pois ele depende dos ovos e filhotes dela. Os animais vivem no estado de natureza e mantém o equilíbrio. A acauã, o gavião, a coruja, a garça, a seriema, o anú e o teiú matam uma cobra para comer. O ser humano, que há séculos saiu do estado de natureza para o estado civil, é o único que mata pelo prazer de matar: esmaga uma cobra lá no habitat dela sem motivo algum, atira num porco do mato ou em vários tendo gado no pasto, porco no chiqueiro e galinhas e frangos no galinheiro.

It's actually a Jackdaw. Part of the crow family but a Jackdaw. There's a video on KZhead of a hawk of some kind attacking a Jackdaw and it doesn't manage to get it's claws in the jackdaws face and the hawk gets one of it's eye's pecked out. Jackdaws can be very very aggressive. I had one as a pet for 9 years. Great video 👍

You're right, at 0:14 you can tell that's a jackdaw by the head. The prey in this video was a western jackdaw (Coloeus monedula). Jackdaws are apparently the smallest corvids, so that explains why the likely male Eurasian sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus) could kill them.

I don't understand people critizing this video because he didn't intervene, the sparrowhawk hunted down the crow, its actually a jackdaw, to feed itself, it is not attacking a pet, it is taking on another wild animal to survive, this is how nature works.

Also interfering with any rescue attempts that its social circle would try. If given enough space other jackdaws, crows and magpies would try a rescue attempt. But can't because there is a muppet with a camera filming it.

The crows can be heard in the video, which has me thinking that someone standing right next to a screaming Jackdaw is frightening off any rescue attempts that the crow family and friends might want to try. Magpies always give it a go. Crows will attack sparrow hawks, and so will ravens. This is what is meant by not interfering with nature. He might have seen a brilliant scene of animals rescuing other animals. There is a video online of that of another Jackdaw being attacked and 2 magpies attack the sparrowhawk and a big ass crow lands and just picks up the sparrow hawk that is holding the jackdaw to and throws it around until it let go and flew off. But this is a jackdaw in the video and a small one. If another comes the sparrowhawk will not get its prey because jackdaws beak is like being hit by the sharp end of a chisel.

Aqui em casa há um casal de gaviões carcarás há quase cinquenta anos. Eles fazem o ninho, caçam outros pássaros, cobras e insetos e quando os filhotes ficam adultos vão embora. Há tucanos que comem os filhotes dos outros pássaros, há pássaros pretos que destroem os ovos do sabiá e botam os seus ovos para a mãe sabiá chocar, há garças maria-faceira que comem as cobras... O tucano vai ao ninho da pomba e luta com ela para roubar-lhe os ovos. Ele poderia matá-la com facilidade, mas não o faz, pois ele depende dos ovos e filhotes dela. Os animais vivem no estado de natureza e mantém o equilíbrio. A acauã, o gavião, a coruja, a garça, a seriema, o anú e o teiú matam uma cobra para comer. O ser humano, que há séculos saiu do estado de natureza para o estado civil, é o único que mata pelo prazer de matar: esmaga uma cobra lá no habitat dela sem motivo algum, atira num porco do mato ou em vários tendo gado no pasto, porco no chiqueiro e galinhas e frangos no galinheiro.

It's actually a Jackdaw. Part of the crow family but a Jackdaw. There's a video on KZhead of a hawk of some kind attacking a Jackdaw and it doesn't manage to get it's claws in the jackdaws face and the hawk gets one of it's eye's pecked out. Jackdaws can be very very aggressive. I had one as a pet for 9 years. Great video 👍
You're right, at 0:14 you can tell that's a jackdaw by the head. The prey in this video was a western jackdaw (Coloeus monedula). Jackdaws are apparently the smallest corvids, so that explains why the likely male Eurasian sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus) could kill them.

So the Sparrow Hawk plucked and killed the Crow, but just as it was about to eat it you scare it off. So the Crow suffered and died for nothing and the poor Sparrow Hawk goes hungry.
I just hope he found something to eat later on. Such a shame that bird was wasted.

I think the sparrowhawk is male, because he is small. But you're right about the prey being a jackdaw.
Also interfering with any rescue attempts that its social circle would try. If given enough space other jackdaws, crows and magpies would try a rescue attempt. But can't because there is a muppet with a camera filming it.
Maybe after the sparrowhawk has its way with the crow, it’ll have its way with the cameraperson for getting too close. 😂

The crows can be heard in the video, which has me thinking that someone standing right next to a screaming Jackdaw is frightening off any rescue attempts that the crow family and friends might want to try. Magpies always give it a go. Crows will attack sparrow hawks, and so will ravens. This is what is meant by not interfering with nature. He might have seen a brilliant scene of animals rescuing other animals. There is a video online of that of another Jackdaw being attacked and 2 magpies attack the sparrowhawk and a big ass crow lands and just picks up the sparrow hawk that is holding the jackdaw to and throws it around until it let go and flew off. But this is a jackdaw in the video and a small one. If another comes the sparrowhawk will not get its prey because jackdaws beak is like being hit by the sharp end of a chisel.
