With the whole reminiscing thing, they should really bring back the memory system from Sims 2 otherwise it's just for show and they don't actually remember anything.
I use mods so hopefully that will help 🙈
Yeah, looks like this will just give them an emotion buff as usual like with reading diaries and so much else in the game.
Exactly my thoughts !
From the looks of it, it's similar to toddlers and children's imagination sequence. I'd LOVE for them to bring back the Sims 2 memory system. I still miss it! 😭
Omg it would be SO cute if they remembered actual memories!
My man Carl really out here comparing stuff packs to McDonald's value meals 😂
Things you can finish inside an hour! :)
@@CarlsSimGuides I love your humor man 😂😂
@@CarlsSimGuides 😆😆💀💀
“You can’t sell babies” oh just wait till that wicked whims dark web update...
I'm not that interested in knitting but I'm glad they're finally adding metal.
Hell yes! I missed that from The Sims 3. I loved the metal in the sims 2!!
It's the only pack I'd throw my money on which I don't even have lol.
Love me some metal.
Diarrhea
Yaay, now my me-sim will be 100% accurate :D
My thing is imagine if they had made this a gamepack or even expansion and put more of this type of detail into other hobbies too. I'd pay a big asking price for more features like this.
Oh a hobby pack would be awesome. Some new hobbies & add more features to the current hobbies. As an example Woodworking has so much potential for building everything from doors to counters for your home, things you could unlock say like in the knitting. Make a workshop for the grandpas & get them out the back building stuff.
@@wwaxwork Your comment made me want to learn about how to make a video game and include all your ideas!
@@wwaxwork Yeah I'd love the option to be able to 'paint' furniture, possibly with extra decor buffs if you have a high enough skill in Painting
@@MissRoux Only one way to learn :) I'm a .Net developer by trade. I'd recommend starting learning to code using basic tutorials to start out with, then do "code katas" on a daily basis. Start with something easy like FizzBuzz, and you'll soon grow in confidence and ability :)
@@Stettafire *Thank you SO much!* For your kind words and your knowledge and taking the time to write back. I'll definitely check it out. This quarantine I was suppossed to start with some introduction to web design and JavaScript. But I kind of dropped it. It might be a piece of cake for some; but for my 27 years old brain sometimes can be complex. But still I want to go deeper into the coding, programming and even gaming! So thank you once again!!!
Not getting fame from plopsy is realistic 😂😂 none of people I've bought from on etsy has become famous yet
I’m actually glad about that, the fame thing can get annoying lol
@@kimberlyjeanne9456 Yeah, I don't need any more Sims 'react in disgust'. lol
i might become famous from etsy lool
lol right! Etsy seller here and I don’t see fame in my future. I’m happy with just sales. 😂 I’m glad they didn’t add fame to it. It’s just ridiculous. I have fame turned off for my played household.
carl: says frogging me, a crocheter: war flashbacks
I (also crochet) had to frog a project earlier this week, so mad. Haven't started another yet, maybe tomorrow.
I do it all the time, if it ain't perfect I'll just redo it.
Knitter here. I got a good laugh oit of that reference and the one about the curse of the boyfriend/girlfriend sweater.
There's also TINK-ing or un-knitting stitches (TINK is knit backwards). I'm super looking forward to this one! Looks like they did some research and/or had some IRL knitters on the dev team!
The animation for changing the baby made me cringe so hard. Why wouldn’t they make the animation similar to previous versions where you throw the baby in the air and their clothes change?? That’s so much more sims-y. I wonder if the houses on the gallery will change in price to reflect the new price of the old subtle saucer light. I feel like I finally have a reason to do woodworking!!
Great to see some new animations finally....so very tired of recycled animations. I'm also glad you cant put them in the knitted items in CAS and they are actually going to make you work to get those items...makes building a skill worth the effort.
This actually seems more interesting than it did from their previous livestream. A few things from this - like the little grim reaper toys - make me more interested in it than I was initially. I may get it when it goes on sale at some point. Thank you for doing these summaries; their livestreams tend to ramble too much.
To be fair, they arent exactly scripted.
I stoped watching the lifestream when they announced we couldn’t sell fizzy drinks in plopsy. That hit me 😢
Well, fizzy drinks spoil so it would be weird to sell drinks that are bad I guess? It takes time to sell on plopsy.
You can't sell it on Etsy either.
I agree, I just give them out when I go to visit other sims. Or you could make a retail business & add them for sell.I made some fizzy drinks out of that weird fruit in strangerville & when I or other sims would drink it we would get possessed lol
They mentioned its because of expiration dates
SimGuruConner said it should be super easy to mod though. So I'm sure a modder will make it so you can sell fizzy drinks :)
You had me at ‘little grim reaper’ 😍
Legit the point where I went from 😒 to 👀. Tiny Grim Reaper? TINY GRIM REAPER!
Tiny Saucer Light...oh thank god.
I've always wanted to make a crafting room in my builds. They finally gave me the items to do that. Plus rocking chairs for my nurseries. I'm very happy. I recognize the wall items and desk features from actual craft rooms I have owned and will never own again except in Sims. I know it's not for everyone, but they did an excellent job on it all the same.
I mean if babies are objects why can't you sell them :D But in all honesty, I'm really excited about this pack. A great start for the elders. And of course, love everything surrounded by the metal update.
@@tabi5719 oof
Because they spoil... Mine always has this green smoke coming out of them.
The moment he mentioned that I instantly laughed at the thought of someone quickly making a mod after release that allows you to sell everything lol
Hoping they fix Eco living issues before all this other stuff! So many glitches that my game is unplayable! Maybe they should slow down on the packs and Fix Sims peeing fire, error code when switching from game play to build mode, random Sims starting white cakes and then leaving them everywhere, future cubes/Clay constantly filling inventory, all NPC have disappeared, Sims getting stuck in place, can not turn of Eco living or the game freezes, and so many more! And once again not to a Debbie downer but,Sharing is Caring is such a BS feature! It's called theft when people(Sims) walk in your house and steal your stuff! Can not even turn Eco living off! Rant over now lol
What you're referring to as sims peeing fire is probably the toilet upgraded for composting filling up with compost and catching on fire during use. You have to empty the compost. Happened to me once.
@@fuzzypumpkin7743 No I've been seeing toilet fires in my game w/o Eco Lifestyle
I doubt they ever will. When they released Sims 4 Sims 3 still had bugs introduced in world adventures :-\. Somehow I don't think that attitiude will change anytime soon
they fixed sims peeing fire normally in the latest patch. If your sim still pees fire it's because they're angry, ate spicy food, etc. I do think the game went crazy, but if you look at it from the bright side, that's what happened with sims 3 and we got sims 4 so... huh
@@merchantfan me too was I wondering why that was happening.
Thanks for the update Carl. Also whats funny is they did the same thing to Unravel as they've done to the sims franchise. I love Unravel, but the second one had no heart and soul. The same goes for the sims, its heartless and soulless All cash grabs now.
I am only getting this stuff pack just because of the metal music that they've added. What a curve ball to throw for a addition in the metal music.
But that are most likely being added to the basegame don't you think?😳😳
I was having the livestream on in the background while doing other things, and turned my head when I heard someone mention Trivium. I haven't listened to that band in forever, but used to go to so many Trivium gigs back in the day. I'm glad we finally have metal ingame. Have to check and see what other bands are involved. :) Kind of wish sims hair would move while headbanging, it might look weird with long hair syles otherwise unfortunately. I think basegame sometimes gets the music updates, but not always? Would be nice to know. :)
@@s181miri6 trivium is 👌🏻👌🏻 such a high quality metal band. Can't wait to listen how they sound in simlish 😂
@@trude8073 it might. To find your answer just check if the music from other packs was added in base. If not then there's your answer.
@@BroskiPlays Same! :D
Thanks for the summary, Carl. That helps a lot by making the infos accessible to people in a different time zone with too many things to do to watch hours of live streams. I'm gonna get the pack because I like the looks of the items, the option to have at least a tiny bit of gameplay for my elders and the more nurturing sims and I also like the fact that you have to unlock the items before being able to use them. That's nice because unlike many other things, it's not handed to us in the first place. I like having to achieve something. The pictures showing up while elders reminisce spurred some speculations about future packs. However, I doubt that these are all hints. They are probably only a bunch of pretty images.
... I'm a lifelong knitter, and I can't believe this pack is even more underwhelming than I thought it would be. That's an accomplishment, EA. Thanks for saving me time, trouble, and money, Carl - you're an absolute gem.
I wish metal was part of an update..,
Me too, it's not is it? I wasn't sure. Oh well...
s181miri knowing ea it’s probably pack exclusive.. I’ll just mod it in
I haven't played the sims in forever, but i believe you could add custom music to the radio stations.
@@OneLovelyDistorsion but not custom radio stations. Like fr i love the sims because of their simlish versions that you cant find anywhere else.
Its for the update i think
Would be nice if sims could hold their baby while in the rocking chair...🙄
They have that in ts3 idk why were always downgradiny
It's ts4 don't expect too much
Not nice, that would be average, it feels like they didn’t properly develop this object...
I wanted this SO BADLY. I would have bought the pack just for that feature lol
Carl is trying his best to sound remotly interested in this, like the rest of us :/
He talks the same in all his videos
@@AJ-cq5pw I guess it can be a matter of perspective. He can get pretty lively, but the last several reviews...not so much.
As an ex Detroit SWAT officer would say: "I never asked for this"
😂😂
im interested in this actually. my grandma (rip) crochet a lot and made me a lot of stuff, and tried teaching me. Animation wise, it be hard to do that so knitting (easier to animate) is close enough.
I’m glad you did this, I started watching the stream but found it so painful that I gave up! Thanks!
I'm a metalhead and a knitter, so I'm actually pretty excited for this lol
I'm actually really excited for the new pack - crochet is something I use to help myself through anxiety and depression, and a craft I take great pride in. It'll be nice to be able to make those things on the Sims too, even if it's not crochet itself. Those toys are difficult with knitting, that's why they're usually done with crochet. But... yeah. Customizing stuff for babies and the like is cool too.
With the “reminisce” action for elders - a kinda cool thing would be instead of just a positive emotional buff there is a varietyof buffs u could get depending on ur Sims life, what if a sim had a ‘bad’ life? didn’t complete their aspiration? Like if a sim has a lot of bad relationships or was low level in their career or sum like that. That would be intriguing. Idk that would add some depth and have some sort of meaning to the actions you take during your Sims’ life. Bc just reminiscing as a cute little interaction and get a positive mood buffs kinda seems pointless - even if u got different mood buffs on random would be still kinda be less in-depth bc if ur sim gets an embarrassed buff but never been embarrassed and had a perfect life it seems out of place .. idk it’s probably just a small interaction they created to say “look y’all wanted sum for elders here u go” but didn’t put much work behind it
I'm pretty sure they said on the stream that you can get a negative buff if the memory was a bad one. I don't know how in depth it is, but it's not all positive.
@@laurenjhicks the Sims don't even have memories! 😂
Good idea but ... does any of that actually happen? I mean most aspirations are so easy to finish that I've never had a sim who couldn't unless they died first. They don't really get upset about "bad" relationships, don't care really about their job level, all thats on US not them. They don't really seem to care about anything.
Nedrane lol that’s why I said it would b an added thing. Bc then I’ll seem like ur actions has some sort of consequence or reward
@@zinaverde5577 Sorry, lol, long day.
While I am not super interested in knitting, I feel like this is a pretty well realised stuff pack that goes well beyond the scope of the older stuff packs. I'll probably pick this one up when it comes out.
I'm a crafting girl that was born into a family of metalheads and my grandma was famous for her knitted socks, the pack feels like made especially for me, just cardmaking as a hobby would have made it more for me (I even consider selling on Etsy sooo...) . Love it! 😍Thanks for the short version of the life stream as I have not the time to watch the full thing live :)
Thanks Carl, i would be lost in al the packs without you 🥰
Thank you for posting. I skipped the live stream as I knew I could count on you to tell us all about it. You always give us the best information and I appreciate you taking the time to do it. I love some of the new things added and I will end up buying the pack. I never buy anything until it is on sale because hopefully all the kinks will be worked out.
Always straight to the point and informative 💖
Carl always tells it like it is. The most reliable Sims KZheadr by far.
I bought it yesterday and haven't had a time to play it yet, so this is useful. I like knitting enough that I was willing to buy it even though my usual rule is to not buy anything until it's at least half price. I really love that you brought out all the real-life crafting vernacular. Seeing the sweater curse and frogging was great!
Thank you so much for summarising the stream. I only caught the last 10 minutes and was bored to sleep 🙈🙈
I’m more interested in this than I thought I’d be! Something for elders to do, babies get SOMETHING new, kids can participate as well, and METAL?? That last one was such a pleasant surprise for me! Worth the $10 to me, easily
Thanks for this recap. It looks fun! Also, some NAP fixes are in the patch! Yay for that!
I love everything about this! So excited!
awesome recap of the stream :D thank you
"Some of us would like to sell babies, as they are crafted objects." SAVAGE
I'm not personally interested, but thanks for the video anyways, Carl. I'm sure a mod will come to sell babies.
Thank you for the condensed review, much appreciated! I have to say I am really excited for this pack, as a long time knitter and Etsy seller, I can't wait to see how things work in game. I've created and sold mini reapers in my online store every Halloween for years and the extra touches of frogging and the curse of the boyfriend sweater show that the team communicated with the knitting community, I can't wait!
Yay! Been waiting for your summary. I don't have and not feeling to watch SIMS LIVESTREAM
Thank Goodness for Carl. I watched that thing and I remember thinking, I will wait for Carl to put up his video. Looking forward to the knittng pack.
Thank you for captioning this as I am deaf. Thanks for heads up on 1. Yarny (the knitting equivalent of gnomes) 2. sweater curse (do not give a sweater to a significant other). I think this is the first stuff pack where we got an aspiration as well as a skill. I liked the addition of plopsie (e bay equivalent). Love your sense of humor. and right a stuff pack is an equivalent of a MacDonald meal. Not yet finished playing through the knitting aspiration so I cant comment yet. Have a wonderful week.
Thanks so much! I knew I could rely on you for a coherent explanation of the life stream.
Thank you for this summary! I was waiting for one because the stream was way too long with too much talking hahaha.
I’ll probably get hate for saying this but I do see the sims team being more reactive to what the community has been saying. I haven’t bought eco-lifestyle but I’ve been watching the gameplay and there’s a lot of new little silly features in that that remind me of the old days (prank calls, warn about bed safety, etc). And the sized down saucer light is proof they’re watching what we’re doing and trying to react to that. Still super cash-grabby and out of touch, but I see the effort there and I appreciate it.
EA just triying to milk Sims 4 as much as they can, pretty much like: Stuff pack! Mayor errors with mods and save games Stuff pack! without any synergy Expasion Pack that more or less have some good gameplay features. Incomplete Stuff pack! Stuff pack! Hey guys, here is Sims 5 you guys know what it means, right? Yes! more Stuff packs because the base game is an empty shell!
The 2 tables that fit together remind me of the dyi craft station my sister made for her apartment irl! I actually really like that, it gave me some ideas!
Conner is ADORABLE and rates really high on the "people won't throw rotten tomatoes at him" because he is so likable. Very excited to hear they went forward with the child version of the boots for kids and I like the game crossover it reminds me of the videogames from Sims 2 that were other titles from the same company. Being a roleplayer I like the plopsy idea and I think unlocking each color variation of a sweater individually lends to extending the value of the new skill.
I appreciate the summary. I usually watch through these things, messy as they are, but I just completely lost patience with the haphazard way the info was presented 😂
I voted for Happy Haunts and the Grim Reaper career, but now I'm actually looking forward to this pack. It seems pretty full featured for a stuff pack, and I can see myself actually using all of these features for once.
I think this is totally worth your money! I am psyched for it :)
"Babies are craftable objects." I'm dead. 😂 I mean, where's the lie?
Please please please post you playing Nifty Knitting (& all your gameplay from now on!!!)! I LOVE your Super Sim videos. I will be starting my 3rd time through the playlist today 😁 Even when you say you did it wrong or you had to read your own guides, there's something about your gameplay style that I relate to that now I can't watch other channel 's Let's Play unless they use your guides. I have watched both of your University guides at least 2x and probably go back to them again today to get my Carl Fix. I keep wishing I could watch a longer version. I would watch Twitch just for your channel.
Dear Carl, Your Tips are amazing! they help me out so much when I play the Sims 4 thank you for your content! Yours Truly, Tori Gacha
oh my god, one of the online handles on plopsy is "el_bandito," the name of the raccoon from sims 1!
Aggravated ! Haven't been able to login to my game since this update.
It's so weird. The "reminisce" animation bit is basically the same animation/solution from TS2 Bon Voyage when you first learn the dragon legend, then again in TS3 Generations as an elder, then yet again in TS4 Toddler Stuff playing as a baby... what was cute and clever in 2007 somehow feels gimmicky and repetitive in 2020, dunno why. Another bust from the Sims team, quite impressive.
I'm very excited for this pack. My mother knits, and a lot, so it's great to see something in the sims 4 so much like her. and rocking chairs are cool
Thank's! 🔥
I wasnt interested in the knitting pack even during the voting but watching this has peaked my interest i like that my old sims now have something to do and it adds more interesting gameplay
I'm looking forward to it, it looks fun & I like doing Rags to Riches type play throughs so Plopsy will be fun for that & the crafting clothes is fun for decades playthroughs & for giving old people & kids more to do.
I love your voice!!! Are we getting any free content/ game updates before the game becomes available next week? if yes, what day? I want to hide/remove my files before everything crashes and have to start over! Thank You for the time you put into these videos!
There will be a patch for the base game. The "new" light and the ability to name cowplants. Probably will come out the same day the pack is available.
thanks for review
I am cautiously excited about "Plopsy". I think it's great to have one more avenue to sell crafted items, as the selling tables and retail stores get repetitive fast (I wish they would improve those with more varied interactions). My last playthrough was rags to riches without selling out of inventory to make it a bit more realistic. The biggest problem with that playthrough was not a starving sim but a bored me.
this is so dope!
I am excited about the metal music, hanging plants, and plosy.
I can't wait to see your reaction and any tips you find when knitting comes out. I k ow it's not a popular opinion but I like what we are getting and the game play for it looks good to me. I will buy it the day it comes out.
@Java Monsoon I love that idea! I haven't gotten Eco yet, my hesitation is the changing of the worlds. I am not sure if I am ready for my game to change that much. Also I play on console, poor girl is working hard as it is with what I've got, and Sims is the only game on it.
@Java Monsoon no, not much from what I can tell.
I love the pastel colors
Perhaps there will be a baby update that includes Simfair where you can sell babies.
Is it wrong that I'd like this as a mod?
7:20 "My personal expectations from stuff packs are pretty low, because they it's the cost of a big-value meal at McDonalds." ROFL
Just a quick note on the back of being a knitter - the sweater curse is only for boyfriend/girlfriend. Generally the consensus is that the knitter has put loads of hard work into the project, partner doesn't realise and respect the amount of work and it causes subtle resentment/issues, hence the curse. The curse is not believed for husband and wife, generally because husband and wives know the amount of work gone into it so if they don't like/want they'll be open and honest before the project is cast on. Always some exceptions to the rule but that's the gist behind the curse
I'm looking forward to this! This is a minor detail, but I was slightly disappointed that our sims couldn't have their own customized screenname on Plopsy, lol. Also, I'm wondering if other sims in the neighborhood can buy their neighbor's listings on Plopsy? Like... if I'm in a household and a sims puts their knit item on Plopsy, can I then go into a different household and buy that item? Hmm...
I'm usually critical with TS4 packs. And rarely get excited, as I always feel like the packs often has more hype than gameplay. But I am gonna be honest, I am looking forward to this stuff pack. Watching the live stream, I probably will get this pack. I like the plopsy gameplay. I think that it may be a good addition to the game. I think that it is possibly the most immersive gameplay they put in the game so far. I don't mind at all that you don't get to interact with buyers, never sold anything online, but I imagine you normally don't build a deep/significant relationship with your buyers if you are selling online (mostly). But I do like that you can buy from plopsy. I wish they have had more thoughtful features and gameplay like this in game. Something that made sense, and stop those novelty features they do to cover the lack of gameplay (because it really is not funny). Also the whole knitting gameplay is expansive, and not just another skill you can complete mindlessly. I like that you can teach others about it. Personally, I think this stuff pack is more expansive than any other expansion and game packs they have released.
I’m really glad they are fleshing out stuff packs a bit more now, much more then they were previously (I’m loooking at you, Luxury Party stuff 🙄) I didn’t vote for knitting but still definitely buying this one. I think they’ve developed it really well.
I love how this stuff pack seems to have much more work and detail in it than some game packs... Also glad they have at least SOME more interaction with babies now. At least one reason not to age them up immediately.
The default name suggestion for my cowplant was also Little Simzee
I just wish metal was included in an expansion for bands/music/concerts
I'm happy to see it, I just wish that it came with scrapbooking and clock making or something.. at least scrapbooking.
THANK YOU
I am definitely WON’T be waiting for a sale on this one! I wasn’t sure about it, but I love it!
Maybe you should wait, even if it's just to see what new bugs come with the pack.
Yeah, just give it about a week after release, you'll fidn out then if somthing is wildly broken.
well the furniture is cute and its nice being able to interact more with the babies, even if it's just changing their outfit 🥰
The knitting is okay & I'm glad that kids can do it but what I'm really looking forward to is the Rocking Chairs!
I see High on Fire and Myrkur in the tracks!
I think I'll wait to get it in a bundle if they come out with other packs. I've got all the pack up to this point now, so yeah I think I'll wait.
this might be the only pack ill consider buying on release lol
The metal station and plopsy seem like things that will definitely be in my general gameplay. I wonder if we can sell the knits in clothing stores if we have Get to Work. That would give me a reason to actually engage with that system.
They confirmed you'll be able to sell knits in stores in the live stream- not sure how it works with the clothing though since that's supposed to live in the individual Sims inventories.
I'm cautiously interested, but I was actually quite excited for Get Gentrified and we all know how that turned out.
Omg I own Unravel 1 and 2 now that I know you can get the main yarn character from unravel I have to get this Sims knitting pack now
I feel like the general idea behind this stuff pack, creative hobbies, would make an excellent game pack in the future, similar to Sims 2 Freetime.
I really like the knitting patch, I'm biased because I too knit and crochet.
I can't wait :D I'm excited for this pack!
I thought it looked pretty good- I like that you can actually get moodlets from wearing bad knitted items and all the special radio settings for Metal were funny. The rocking chairs could look a little more polished and I wish you could sit with toddlers but they plus the hanging plants will look really nice on porches. I thought all the knitted stuff looked pretty decent though I wished the baby onesies had more of a knitted look to them and I really wish that viking beard hat had won in the vote.
The pack looks good, I won't buy it at release though... not until I know what new bugs it will have.
You mean features?
Skeever Hunter no bugs, after eco life style in not trusting ea until I know im not getting any more bugs in the game
Skeever Hunter I’ve preordered the last two expansion packs & eco living is the most buggy pack I’ve brought. At this point it’s best to see the bugs before you buy..
@@SkokingProductions what features? There is not much here 😂
I think I'm going to do the same.... they should spend some time testing before release. Or has that gone out of fashion for programmers these days?
This is such an exciting pack. It's even less interesting that watching beige paint dry. The only redeeming features are the new hairstyles, which have a nice retro/stylish look, and Plopsy ... or is that plop-C?
I’m totally making a Grandma’s Knitting Club!
Woah - LilSimsie will now get to label Her personalized cow plant- Peaches! Surreal.
I want this now... for metal music!!!
"You can't sell babies" Mod creaters: Am I a joke to you? 🤣
