@@AJOrpheo more like liberty advisor, there are no lawyers remember. Also he had a concussion from that danger close 500 kg bomb drop and on the realization of undemocratic thoughts he immediately applied his Stims to quell them as per guidelines. By the way we need another crate of stims.
Pro-tip from the devs (not me): the enemies respond to loud noises but will ignore the first instance. So when helldivers drop and immediately start calling down support gear all the enemies in range get pinged twice and come running. Get some distance from the dropzone before deploying your gear, it'll save you the hastle of having to retrieve it off your body 1 minute later.
That explains that one time I went solo and landed near some automatons undetected, yet the second someone else dove in all hell broke loose.

@@Giosuke_GiogashikataBasically I started out surrounded by enemies, but in a relatively decent spot since I was undetected and was planning to sneak away. Once that second helldiver came in the hulk and several devastators proceeded to pound the crap out of us for several minutes until we were finally able to make it away with just a few responds left. Also, I would argue that it's more of giving you a warzone experience, and quiet moments are just as much a factor as the louder ones.

It wasn't even on my radar and then a friend gifted it to me. I hit 50 in the first week and maxed everything in the next few days. I might have an addiction but you know what? It is such a breath of fresh air to play a game like this with a solid lil studio behind it. It just feels good!

(edit: i made this comment cuz i was kinda mad at first, but after a few days i ranked up & got to the higher difficulties & the game is actually rly fun now. still disappointed with the graphics on PS5 tho, should be a lot better, but the game is actually fun af ngl. unedited comment below) I just got the game cuz everyone said it was sooo good, but it's boring, it's repetitive, the graphics are poorly optimized on PS5 with either graphics modes (the performance mode being the worst of the two, literally looking like PS3 graphics & that's not an exaggeration), every single party i join is just trying to farm credits instead of actually playing the game. Honestly I'm disappointed af.
Ive been having fun, you gotta have friends to play with man. Plus, i dunno, on PC the graphics look damn good, but im not a graphics snob so i dont judge that as much, i still happily enjoy PS2 games.@@John-X

Yeah i still play Gamecube & original Xbox games too but i expect more from PS5 games, especially when games like Hitman, Doom Eternal, MWII, Ghost of Tsushima & the Resident Evil remakes look amazing on PS5 there's just no excuse. "you gotta have friends" YA WELL I HAVE NONE. would've been useful to know that before i bought it, can't even refund.
I made a bunch of new friends the first time I opened my matches up to pub. Was going solo the first few days, learning the ropes. There's some trolls, though I haven't seen but a few in 40 hours or so.

Nothing feels better in gaming than going through an absolute hell of a mission, having everyone successfully extract together, and everyone hugs it out afterwards back on the ship.

It's true! And nothing says "These people aren't going to be angry jerks" like someone running back across the ship because they saw you standing there waiting for a hug!
This game is definitely something special because I don’t even like online co-op games. But this game has me running around laughing, shouting orders, and obeying them at the same time and celebrating with my new, random friends friends.

Was surprised Helldivers2 got this successful. I mean we have been eyeing it forever since we were fans of the first one... I guess the camera change (and the removal of "1 camera for all players") made it much more accessible. Was one of the biggest problems with Magicka 1-2 as well, not to mention how the camera got locked during an arena fight and you couldn't move from a very tiny area usually.
It kind of resurrected the first one as well. Maybe people became curious about it.
Helldivers 2 against bug is like getting zerg rushed by a korean player is more accurate than I expected.

HOW?! what diffculity do you play on that allows you to do 5000 rounds each mission. Even with two mechs I dont reach that.
My favorite way to play against the bugs is as a full on Chem trooper. Light Armor Medic + Enforcer Helm, Slugger, Senator revolver Bringing in , Eagle Nap strike, Flame thrower, Laser Guard dog, and Gas Strike. Mmmm I *LOVE* The smell of Termicide.

I bought this on Sunday, and I am already addicted. This game is so much better than 99.99% of AAA Title Games.
I can just imagine the dev team nearly drowning in money they didn’t expect to get from this. Go to bed one night and wake up the next morning knee deep in cash, and it’s still raining money.
This year has been silly with AA studios making hundreds of millions in usa dollar while large quadruple A companies cant sell a million games

The explosions in this game never ever EVER get old. They are always satisfying.
My first experience on a planet, I came out of my drop pod and instantly got crushed by another players drop pod incoming 😂 2 seconds of life. I was laughing so hard. Game is hysterical.

It's amazing how wholesome the community is. People just coming together for a good time of mass murder, where unintentional teamkilling is more met with laughter rather than anger, and moments just happen naturally. Like the salute at the missile launch. I was never told to do that, never told my teammates to do it... yet we all did it anyway.

OMG I literally had a guy with an impostor syndrome crisis on the destroyer this evening. We had a hugging and "it's all good" circle, and then we went and destroyed so many bots it was wonderful.

"A tutorial as short as police training." ROFL and more true than you could know. They don't rush through the repeated dash and body cam footage of bad things happening to them though. If there's footage out there of a police officer or security professional being shot you will be guaranteed to see it. Just to be sure that all new rookies go for that lethal response over the four non lethal options.

@@MrRingworld Wear white armor while fighting automatons at night. It turned pitch black by the end. I love the little attentions to the details. Like the cape slowly becoming more and more tattered the longer you're alive. All the stories it could tell about close calls.

Last night was the first time I saw a tiny detail in isolation, when I either kicked a small snow ball or tossed a magazine (didn't catch exactly what it was) and I saw the trail it left in the snow as it slid down the hill. I was shook for a second that they would even bother tracking that.

I was in a PUG with a dude who went up for the hug on the destroyer. Like a good diver, I returned it immediately. There was a comedy beat. He goes, "do you automatically distrust and/or kick people for ignoring hugs?" I love this game.

Being thrown into absolute hell with friends or fellow divers is somehow the most chill experience I've had this generation. Failure is still fun, there's some strange feeling of nobility in going out guns blazing with nukes raining down.
I have one rule; everyone fights. Nobody quits.
Ok, now do the dark traumatized version of a new player who someone dragged into a helldive against the bots.
One of my buddies did this to one of my other buddies. We're both level 40, he was like a level 6 or 7. We did really good until Buddy #1 disconnected. Then it was me and Buddy #3. We made it to exfil, with all the super rare samples. It was either 3 or 6. But we scrambled and somehow made it into the ship with 30ish seconds on the clock. Add on: And we had one life between the two of us. I made him the sample holder and told him as soon as that Pelican door opens get your ass in. I hopped in my mech for the last 30 seconds or so to pull aggro. It somehow worked and I ran out of ammo in the mech so I bailed pretty much right into the Pelican. As soon as I got into the Pelican, a barrage of rockets hit my mech. A lot of crap happens in 3 seconds.

This is closer to guardsman from Warhammer 40k than it is to Starship Troopers. Just replace all mentions of Democracy with The Emperor and it's nearly perfect - and they even have capes.
