  • We had a Doberman once and was the BEST DOG EVER. He protected her and the kids with a passion and a mission like no other. If anyone he didn’t know got near them he would put himself between them before you could blink every single time no matter what he was doing or where he was. If they advanced he would back them up and literally show them to stay back. If you told him it was ok then he went back to whatever but kept an eye and stayed close by

When us kids would go places the dogs would come whether the owner was in the group or not. One day the kids with the dogs were down at the river we would always go to. It was a very slow moving river. We would throw sticks into the river for the dogs to get. One time when the Weimaraner was in the river he start yelping in stress. My Golden jumped in and swam over to the dog, grabbed his neck fur and pulled him to shore.

  • We had a Doberman before and he was the most careful alert guard of our kids we ever had. Whenever anyone we didn’t know got closer to kids than he liked he would instantly put himself between the kids and them EVERY single time. If we didn’t tell him it was ok he would remain there until we said ok or they left. Not to mention if they got to close he didn’t hesitate to let them know to back up. First he’d push them back and if that didn’t work he’d growl softly at first then more loudly till they got the point. All with like I said no hesitation ever. Never once did he back down nor ever try to hurt us or the kids. It was his mission to protect them period

She was calm whenever my dad was home; but when it was just either me, my sister, or my mom at home, she was vicious whenever someone she didn't know (or even didn't like, which did happen) came to our front door.

    • Dobermans ARE aggressive and were selectively bred to be that way. However their aggression is very selective and is almost always directed against someone outside of the family unit, such as strangers or intruders. Compare that to the Pitbull which was selectively bred to be violent towards everything and anything, and so naturally they have the highest statistics of any dog breed of killing their owners or especially their owners children.

    • This video lost me as a viewer when it said the Doberman is dangerous & specifically bred to be vicious which is a blatant lie. The Doberman is the only dog bred specifically to be a protection dog which isn’t the same as vicious. Also, this dog is a wonderful family dog, often called Velcro dogs because they want to always be with their people. They’re extremely loyal and are very gentle with small children often choosing to stay with them over other family members as their protectors. Don’t believe everything you see on KZhead.

      @stephenconley5173@stephenconley51738 ай бұрын
    • @@AstiJay it is not a blatant lie the creator of the doberman breed it to be vicious so it can protect him like the video says but farther breeding made it a more loyal, protective, and friendly dog. If they are not trained properly they can be extremely violent and hostile to people and other dogs. Also it does depend some times which type your talking about because the american doberman is more suited as a house dog but the European doberman is more suited for protection due too it's larger appearance and they are more likely to attack a threat more then retreat like the american doberman.

  • Many years ago, I raised and trained Dobermans. Not once did I fear any of them attacking my children. One weekend we all went camping and took one of my favorite Dobie's (Captain). He was a beautiful Blue Gladiator. We bought him from an owner of a jewelry store. Captain also had metal capped teeth. And he use to guard that jewelry store. So while out camping, I would tell one of the older children to walk into the forest a ways and I would have Captain sniff one of the child's sweater and just tell him to go get Trevor. In no time, Trevor was found. Captain knew the difference between work and play. When he was in the house, the children would play and dress him up. Long story...long. Yes, Dobermans can be viscous if they're trained for it. Same for German Shepherds, Rotties,and Bully breeds. It all depends on the way they're raised/trained. Sorry this is so long. But I miss all my dogs I have had through the years. I love the breed! Beyond smart!

The most vicious dog I've ever seen weighed about 8 pounds. I swear it was half chihuahua and half jumping spider. It was a terrifying little thing... but only when a stranger stepped into the home uninvited. Stupid people attempt to attach humanity's worst actions/feelings to dogs. However, dogs don't know what hatred is, they are very trusting even after being abused, dogs don't understand hurting someone for no reason. Of all animals on Earth, Humans are the ONLY ANIMALS ON THE PLANET WHO KILL FOR FUN.

She would let them sit on her, mom my would stop them of course but she never acted bothered and she was an abused pup when my dad rescued her from the pound. She actually jumped out of the drop off box and jumped in my dads truck, sat in the passenger seat and he couldn’t help himself and brought her home. You could tell she had been abused but she still trusted people. She had a couple litters of pups over the years and her last litter we kept one of her pups and she was just as lovable and loyal. My Rottweilers were also very protective but lovable, they were also trained but you can’t train love, compassion and loyalty.

  • These stories are amazing! I have a small dog, and he’s honestly pretty lazy, and he’s a good boy! Whenever my cousins bring in their big dogs on camping trips, he can easily bark a single time, and the other dogs will immediately leave him alone! It’s amazing, and I’m so happy to have my dog!

  • Doberman’s are extremely protective over their families. My 14yr old Dobie has been a service animal of sorts to me. See, I suffer from a spine injury that causes me constant pain….. some days are worse than others and some days it gets really bad. Those days I actually pray that I can sleep through as much of it as I can(not much sadly). He knows. He will come lay down next to me, but not on me. I can lean against him if I need but he won’t me. If I’m sitting he will come over and rest his chin on my knee. He will also walk with his head under my left hand while trying to walk, using my cane in my right hand. He helps calm me down when the pain flares up and triggers my depression. He will not tolerate a person that doesn’t live in our house to reach over our fence. Even if we let them in the house and he’s in the other side of the baby gate. The baby can play with the gate and around it and the 3 of us can go in and out it no problem. If your a guest and you reach over without us next to you, even if it’s just to pet him he will use his big boy bark and scare the crud out of you. Being 14 though is rough for me and him. He doesn’t have much more time left and his hips aren’t holding up so well. His health is fading fast. I personally don’t know what to do because I don’t want him to suffer and I want to help him the way he helped me…. I don’t know what I’m going to do without him… up until recently he slept on a standard queen size pillow that was once mine, above my head( he made himself fit perfectly up there. I didn’t train him on any of that stuff. I won’t be getting another Doberman once he passes. I will at some point for sure but I’m not sure I want to find a “replacement companion” right away. While I will for sure own another dobbie, I doubt one will ever fill his paw prints.

  • The doberman story reminded me of a news article I read. It was about a doberman named Devil and how he saved his owners son from choking on a candy after it got stuck in the son's throat. Barking at the mom to go and see what was going on, saw what was happening and saved her son. Devil got a tasty treat after.

  • It would be wonderful if every country, worldwide, acknowledged animals and/or people for such achievements (as with Sako). So good to see footage where ‘thank you’ is expressed in a way that promotes human:/dog (or other animal). Maybe that would hugely impact respect & care, making rescue centre’s work less exhaustive. Thank you for the footage. All the best, JaneR

  • My sister had a Collie/Lab mix, Seka, who once got tagged by a rattlesnake. Luckily Sis was home that day, and found Seka piled up against a fence. She rushed the dog to the vet, and Seka was saved. The antivenin is applied by victim's weight, and it took $300 worth of it. The pooch had her slender graceful muzzle massively puffed up, from the strike on her face. But days later she was back to normal. 👍
