Amazing work!
Now this is a spectacular "how it's made" video! Excellent work 👍
Amazing job!
Thanks for taking the time to make and share this process… exactly what I wanted to see and learn about. Now to find the most cost effective place for supplies so I can have a go at this :)
Felicitaciones un buen trabajo en fibra de carbono desconocía cómo era el proceso de fabricación de una pieza
I have made the same part but with silicone mold and prepreg , and i keep the 2 line of the original part!! Try the keihin cover (if you have a 625 or a 660) i have made one but not happy with the result.. Very nice channel , i appreciate!!!
I was in the need to see this. Subbed. Thanks for sharing.
You just got a new sub! Man this is satisfying
Good looking part. Finally between you and AJ Hartman, and one or two others, there is getting to be some good composites content on KZhead.
Thank you 🙌
I want the outer layer of my armor coated with this! This is black gold 💜
Love this (and your other) vids. Would be great to see a bit more context about what's going one...why you're doing what your doing etc. Either on screen or via voice over.
Wow.. It takes sooo much efforts
congratulations for the excellent work! How does cooking pre-impregnated carbon work? Is it possible to make it happen in a house with a traditional oven? Thanks!
Beautiful work 💪🏽🇬🇧👍🏽
Beautiful work friend
That was mesmerizing.
Good work. Great vid. You might consider an oscillating tool for cutting the hardened composite. It works great without slinging debris everywhere like a rotary tool .
Will a band saw work too? With a fine tooth blade
@@TheAnonymous1one with carbon, grindings always better than sawing
What is the yellow plasticine you use at the start? Is it a certain type? Also what is the aluminium to poly gel ratio please?
Шикарно) навыки как всегда на высшем уровне)
Wow! Great job dude
Beautiful
Can't unsee the car I drew as a child.
Excellent and professional work. Please, I have a question: What is the appropriate temperature and pressure for
Good looking part
Excellent work! Thanks for sharing
Your welcome 👍
Hello it was very nice work Can drone body and propeller molds be made with this method? By the way, it's nice of you to provide links for the necessary materials.
New sub, thanks for the guides
Pretty cool!
Great work nice one 👍 👏
Magnifique !
Great work👍
Thank you so much 🤝 congratulations
damn this took forever lol. really well educated video on the process of making one.
Love this video ❤
For those who are wondering why carbon fiber parts are so expensive, well this process itself is the answer.
That’s why i love carbon fiber parts, masterpiece of work
It only took 10 minutes 😉
ehhh for a one-off part, sure, but for mass-produced parts, it's pretty easy to turn them out. not to much more involved then molded plastic parts.
@@rich7331 the cost of fiber and time needed to bake it is significant.
@supee if it was mass produced, it would not be significant
Youre good with that little saw
What a beauty
Good work!!!
Can't unsee that it looks like a little cartoon car. Nice work
🚕 😁
Brilliant! How would I make similar but with a couple of locating prongs \ tabs on the rear?? It's for two clip on motorbike side panels.. I get the front face ... But can't get my head round now I'd incorporate two locating tabs that would hold the part to the bike frame! Would it be easier to just blue on after? If Anyone can explain or link a video before I pull all my hair out!
Hi. Good video. I have one question. What kind of carbon you are using?
Nice work! Do you make custom pieces and other parts?
Hi There Thank you for the video techniques with carbon fibre I have a questuon Hiw would you approach a conical shape 40cm diameter 30cm height Maybe one sheet to cover it all ar once or in pieces or any other way Much apprieciate your help Best
Красивая текстура, качественная весч!!!
I was expecting some fiberglass hackery.. but that was pretty awesome.
Why did you add aluminum powder to the gelcoat? Never heard of that
Bel lavoro💪💪
I appreciate your work, it would have been amazing if you had weighed the finished product vs the original and put it in the video itself. In any case amazing video.
Plastic would be about the same
Sir, how long does it take to ovens the mold? And how long does carbon take to ovens and how many degrees of heat?
NICE , Geat Job !!!
As soon as I build my air vacuuming table I'm gonna start doing some carbon fiber projects. Safety first when dealing with this dust.☠️ Btw he was using what's called a rib roller. We used them doing fiberglass pools. What's the blue stuff called though? I haven't seen that.
Any soon video of how to carbon fiber Tubes like for intakes and stuff like that?
Good work , keep form for next product for frieds 👍:)
Impresionante
Hi .. can you show me how to make EGI for squid fishing lure with those material please 🙏
I would love you see stihl chainsaw parts made from caribe fiber. Now that would be awsome
Love that Fred Flintstone car
How would you make a mould from an FMF 4.1 Carbon end cap.
What I would love a vid of is the entire process of making a 1/32 scale slot car body, then the cost in the country this person lives, What the difficulties are, how to get around undercuts etc etc
Good stuff!
Thanks man 🤟
i would love to try do stuff like this sadly dont have garage for it
4:55 may create safety cabinet likes sandblast, vacuum to canister or fume
Good work! New subscriber here
❤❤❤ What did you use for a clear coat at the end?
If that's a KTM part, how can I make fork protectors that go round the back of the forks? Same way? Thanks
You should totally make a video using my 23 bmw s1000rr bet you could make some sweet parts!
I love it
I love your videos. Your parts look sooo good. I have one question. How thick are the parts with two layers of carbon fiber? Thanks for your ideas.
Thank you! Finished thickness is only about 1.5mm. But very strong!
Do you have a tip for me? I want a cover for my right side of the engine. but if I made the part it would have the same dimensions as the original. how would i get it to put it on top?
@@smogman2084 you will need to make a offset on your pattern your moulding off. Best things to use is high temperature sheet wax.
Awesome
Beast
What about cycling parts, have you made anything like that?
Loved watching the mould making process, Im a laminator by trade but I’m still yet to make a mould! Do you mind me asking where you got your experience as you are really good! 🙂
Thank you 👍 I have learnt all my skills through trial and error and what ever information was about.

Hello , what kind of carbon is that?? Is the bsckside sticky , where can i buy this , nice skills by the way 😊
@@bjorn-eriksvensson2956 it's pre preg carbon fiber
Hello! Is this carbon fiber part flexible for a bit?
I want to know what is the name of the carbon material used in it

Very easy
How would it cost (larbour and everything) to have the equivalent of an electric scooter fabricated in carbon fibre?
LC4 ! 🥰
Looks very clean, can you use the unimold system for prepreg?
Yes works great, but choice of gel coat is important. The black uni gel doesn't work well
🔥
please enlighten me. no resin here? or is it because its prepreg and it has resin in it?
Can you make a air intake manifold.
nice video
That's Bob on 🔥🔥 how do you get the correct size and shape of the prepreg cutouts?
Thanks, usually by making a template inside the mould with paper/masking tape then transferring it to the prepreg to cut out
@@CarbonWorkshops that's genius 👍👍
А что за материал такой, что не требует ввода смолы? И откуда самоклеящаяся подложка на нем??
Great video :) what was the last thing that you sprayed onto the part?
2k clear coat 👍
where I can buy a material? I will do it my self
Nice video! How many times can you use that mold before you break it?
Iv got moulds made the same way that have had over 100 parts made with no damage
How are carbon fiber parts mass produced?
Whaoo😍😍
Good work. First time seeing in u tube. Where can i get carbon fiber and what is the price.
shopee
Well, this was really cool - to see how to actually make such a part. However, questions for the curious remain: 1) was this part chosen as an interesting tutorial example or was there any compelling reason to make this part out of carbon-fibre 2) it's a pretty intense series of steps to go through (vs, say, 3D printing parts), so some back-ground on when and why to chose making parts out of carbon-fiber would be of interest 3) what kind of conditions can carbon-fibre parts be subjected to - temperature range, what solvents might potentially weaken them, what kind of mechanical shock/stress can they be subjected to 4) can the mold be re-used? Great video!
1) probably just impact force so it doesnt break easily it is on an outdoor vehicle after all 2) it is a lot of steps i agree 3) conditions are mostly determined by the resin you use some take heat or uv better than others as well as the coats you do after if any 4) short answer yes but depending on how you make the mold can determine its stiffness and longevity
What’s the weight difference? And why no show how it looks on the bike?
At the end you had painted it. What preparation did you do before painting?
240 grit sandpaper before clear coat
Very nice!! Where do you bye the carbonsheet? You dont apply epoxy to carbon, or am I missing something?
This is prepreg carbon fibre. The epoxy resin is already on the carbon fibre. And only cures at high temperatures

Amazing results! I don’t see you using epoxy before or after laying down your sheets. Do you use any? Or is it just molded with the vacuum?
This is prepreg carbon fibre meaning the epoxy is already in the carbon cloth and cures at high temperatures
@@CarbonWorkshops thank you!
Are you selling these and other ktm cf parts? I have this master cylinder cover on mine too
