    • My car came from Yorshire and within 6 month living in Aberdeen the amount of rust it had was surprising. I rarely washed the thing as I just needed a beater and paid £1100 for it. The rust was easy to look after. Nothing that a wire brush and a spray can can't fix. I am looking at a new car but there isn't much around locally that's much good.

  • The people saying it should’ve been sold spares/repairs clearly have never tried to sell a cheap car before. You can be as blunt as possible in an advert, you’ll still attract people who think they’re buying a brand new car. Sometimes it’s just not worth the hassle

Unless it's a diesel you won't pay more than 100,000 yen (essentially 500 pounds), plus unavoidable auction charges. The Probox (great name) is the car to put a junior salesman on the road. The street cred of a Safeway shopping trolley, but essentially basic transport assuming it has some shaken (MOT). In Japan the Shaken last for two years and includes road traffic act insurance. However, any registration with a 'P' or above, after the S, means its been registered in Dundee or North of there and will be especially bad due to the even colder, and saltier climate than the Central Belt. Also, and don’t know if you’ve noticed this too, Scottish cars aren’t as well equipped as southern cars.

  • I agree Matt, bought a Fiesta from Glasgow 5 years ago, one previous owner and 55k miles but lived up there for its first 11 years. I didn’t expect to still have it, had my car written off and needed something quick. Was raining obviously and it was parked on a main road so kurb meant I didn’t look underneath. It’s far worse than the same car it replaced of the same year but that was Cumbrian and much higher miles. Lesson learned and won’t do it again or take something to kneel on to inspect. Sprayed it underneath with hydraulic oil on its first MOT with myself and then did more wire brushing and rust treatment in following years but suspect it’s time is limited

  • You're spot on with the Scottish cars. And i say that as a Scot. I actually play a little game with your vids, as soon as i see the S plate, how long it's going to be before rust is found. It's never long.... Trust me, the market up here is insane for that reason, everything is overpriced, demand far outstrips supply because everything of a certain age/price point is absolute JUNK. Cars down south that don't really rust (Thinking something like a Mk2 Octavia), find one in Scotland and if it's still alive, it'll be a patchwork quilt underneath with all the MOT bodges trying to squeeze 1 more year out it each MOT time.

  • Not that it would make much of a difference, but I think some of the older more unique cars (like the Navarro) could fetch more money if you sell them as spares on fb marketplace to someone that breaks them for parts. The going rate for a big suv like that would be like £400 / £500. But then again it would be better to just be done with them

  • My wife likes it when I watch your videos while she goes to sleep, as she finds your voice and introduction music 😅 Gutted to see a Kia Rio going to the scrap yard because they're great cars. It's clearly never been looked after, even before the nightmare list of failures and advisories - how does someone allow their car to fail its very first MOT FFS 😮😂
