  • I don't know what she means by "growing up" because I think growing up means understanding your needs and learning to provide for them and for any other responsibility you may take on. And I feel like she accomplished that. I get the notion that "growing up" somehow also includes "getting serious" but let's throw that out the window, shall we?

  • In Spain the C word (in translation) is super light and used constantly by all generations. As a brit gradually acclimatising to the language, it was a bit of a shock to suddenly understand that grannies were calling each other C@^÷ all day, along with to the grandkids. I teach English here and now we talk about different weights and how informal, adult conversation have a few differences. The first time one of them was being clever and called me a C to my face in English (friendly, smiling all the while) I nearly fell out of the chair.

  • My favourite time in my life is when we had the family holiday home (very basic - it's a kiwi thing) and we would all start the day by piling on the bed with Mum and Dad (incl. partners) and talking for about an hour - it was just the best time ❤

    • If you ever have kids you will notice there is a gigantic difference in actually bringing up a kid and just talk about an adult as a kid. Having kids involve a lot of really tough times, and extra so if you are the one who are to be pregnant.

  • My ex used to get up at 5am everyday to go to the gym before work. I was usually woken and not easy to go back to sleep. She used to come back so I thought it would be nice to get up and make her breakfast and have a coffee before we both went to work. Nope she complained that I spoiling her time in the morning…. So in the end I used to get up and prep the breakfast and then go back to bedroom and read, even to the point that if she came into the bedroom I just pretended to be asleep. Divorced 10 years doesn’t look like there will be a thanks…😂

    • Yeah. I have to admit. You possibly have experience with Schizophrenia?. The problem is, it's almost as is you are ready to jump on someone because you get triggered on an emotional level because of it. The same issue with many people, a jokes funny until it's a joke I'm sensitive about kind of idea. Maybe just try to see it in the light it's being said rather than the worst interpretation and being judgemental about it.

  • What is it with monogamous people that they have to continually insist that they're not having sex with other people or it's not a romantic thing when they have intimate relationships with other people? Those of us in the poly community really don't get it. I just wish Jameela could enjoy what she has with her friends and not feel like she has to defend it as "not fucky", so what if it is? But more importantly can't we conceive of a meaningful and intimate relationship with a person that doesn't involve fucking them if they happen to be opposite gender?
