It will be so exciting to see the day this chateau can no longer accurately be called a ruin.
At the rate they’re working you won’t have long to wait!
I think that day is when the roof goes on, or soon after. At that point it's simply a fixer-upper for a while.
I would rename it chateaux ruin.
Gradually from ruin to building site once all the rumble is gone.
@@questioner1596 I don't know if he's set on a temporary or permanent roof, I think it will be a temporary one for a while, the main permanent roof will take a while and cost a small fortune, and what he does on this side has to be duplicated on the other side. Progress is being made and obviously more people help, but there is a long way to go, but the dream is more reality and less nightmare with the passing of each task (The tanks, bet he still dreams about them), and hopefully from time to time he can get some more help through the project to take him past the tipping point (most probably when the walls at the roof level are all stabilised)!?!
This room they cleaned had a TREE growing through it. A TREE. A WHOLE TREE. Just as a reminder. That is INCREDIBLE the amount of work they got done. Huge props to all 4 of you. You are amazing and inspiring.
The tree was on the other side
Yep… thats an understatement for sure… I askGod to provide everything you need anytime you need it! Amen!
Sooo coool
Aweesommme💚☀️💙
this room is two meters underground
There are not enough superlative adjectives to describe what you have done. Absolutely hallucinating when you actually see that tiled floor. I’m so happy that you were able to get the necessary support to push the project through. Bravo.
Nick and his little skid steer were just what the doctor ordered. I hope it gets fixed. And Colin and Cameron are hard-working men with heart. What a team and what an inspiring episode! Smile factor was big in this one. :)
Calvin even.....
Installing the arches, and having that room cleared whilst being visually satisfying, must be so mentally clarifying.
I love that floor!
After the chateau is complete, the lads helping should have paintings of them in it. At least a painting of you dining together!
Ot their own rooms in the chateau.
That is a good idea!
So weird but yesterday I thought the same thing. They all have faith in Dan’s vision.
@@trickshotters1577 we all do, too!
They should sign their names and leave notes/stories behind in the repaired bits.
Dan and all the guys who have helped need to recreate the photo “Lunch atop a skyscraper” with the exposed steel beam!! That would be an amazing photo to have as a keepsake and reminder of all the amazing friends who were beside you during this transformation!
Dan you gotta get a gimmick! Like the Dick Sawbridgeworth mustachios or something!
It's truly amazing what one determined man can accomplish. This isn't overlooking the men helping you, Dan. It is your determination that counts. Great progress! Thank you for the post.
There comes a point in every restoration where it stops looking like a ruin and starts looking like a work in progress. I think you’ve just hit that point with the clearing out of all that debris and installation of those gorgeous original arches 👍 really makes it feel like you’re moving forward
MS B -- I am most curious to know where those arches had been and why were they returned to Dan just now. Has this been discussed here?
@@claritadeluna6609 In the previous episode, Dan said that their neighbor kept and returned them
Yup, the chateau is becoming a home again. A ways to go yet, true. But a fair distance already traveled.
Making me laugh, Nick Keeps tracking up the “cleaned “ floor! 😅
@@claritadeluna6609 Dan had said that a neighbor took them for safekeeping after they fell down in a big storm. Those pieces were incredibly heavy as we could see in that previous episode what it took for them to be unloaded piece by piece. That was amazing that they got one of them put back in already.
No Dan, this project is already moving at a rapid pace…..it’s phenomenal and every day it is looking better…be proud y’all, and stand tall. Great work
all the guys have done excellent work...
💯
So happy you are saving that adorable kitchen! I think Calvin's new name should be Tiny Black Short Man.
I can’t imagine what it is costing. Do hope you don’t run out of funds with a family to support as well. This whole project has overtaken so many of us. Keep safe Dan and helpers.🍷🍷🇬🇧🇬🇧
Have you joined his patreon or at least sent a tip?
@@FashionDivaNY i am a Patreon worth the money
Im sure the adverts provide a steady income stream as well. Don’t worry I’m sure Dan has this aspect sorted. He’d take a break to earn if he needed to.
Like Dick Sawbrideworth did, Made money from comedy beard😂😂😂😂☺️
They have a roughly 120k views per video. A quick google search shows that can earn you about $6000 - $8000 a month. Plus I am sure he gets paid for the camera team that is following him sometimes. I think he will manage. 😊
It must be the most amazing feeling for all 4 of you to see what you have achieved in such a short time, thank goodness for Nick and his equipment.
IN-CRED-IBLE!! The kitchen,,the arches,,the floor,,the clear up outside,,my gosh but your crew did a spectacular job this week!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
👏👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 ❤
Seriously, you guys are like the gladiators of restoration!!! Seeing that floor completely cleared from several TONS of debris in only a few days. OMG!! Seeing the arch returned to it's proper place was pretty magical as well. Total gladiators! 👷💪👍😎💖💯🍺
I watch the shadows moving during the time lapse photography... It gives me such a perspective of the actual time that is being spent on this project. How Dan feels must be akin to how Archeologists feel , when they dig out lost settlements... My coffee's done, I've seen my episode, time for me to start my day !
I wait all day to see your videos, Dan! It's the fascinating and interesting thing to me on KZhead! With 4 people working so much gets done! When you first started this project I thought it would never happen. Now, I'm a believer! ❤😊
This is by far my favorite series on youtube to date
I wait eagerly every day for a new vlog! So amazing watching this come together. I hope Dan’s friends will be there for several more days, weeks or months to help him!
ME, TOO! Can't wait to see every vlog post. I'm just in awe.
I just said the same thing to Dan. I look forward every day to seeing the surprises uncovered. This last room is showing the beauty of the place, with the light coming thru the windows and the tile floors, just beautiful.
Mine too. I hope he keeps a daily vlog.
Absolutely my favorite too!
Well, Dan, they say the kitchen is the heart of a home 🏠. Perhaps that’s why you’re getting such good vibes from that room. The Chateau is looking AMAZING! So excited to see more…..
That was my thought, too.
Great comment. Imagine cooking going on in there again some day! 👏🏻👏🏻
Oh! So well said!
I have been blown away by what I seen these last few days. The four of you hardworking guys are unstoppable. That saved arch was amazing going in..
This old lady of a ruin is so lucky to have you working on her fragile but stately old bones! Well done lads and be proud of your great work and thrilling progress! You will be well rewarded I am sure in months ahead as you look back and see the miracle unfolding! We out here see it and are cheering you on🎉🎉🎉🎉
The floor looks to be in great shape for having been buried. Far nicer than old linoleum. 😊 I hope you keep finding hidden treasures.
The floor is amazingly sturdy, having had heavy equipment running over it continuously. Fabulous!
Nick is AMAZING with machines! It's like he is one with them! Know what I mean?
Totally agree, ❤Nick!
100% agree - you are awesome Nick 😮
Yes, Nick is amazing at everything he puts his hand to.
Dan - you’re editing is superb. I can’t imagine how the TV crew could match it. You are a creative story teller Careful not to loose our attention. Your own enthusiasm and curiosity is contagious. You have drawn a team of very supportive men around you that makes this project so watchable EVERY day - I don’t know any blog that can match your viewers daily loyalty. Mind you - team aside I still watch you work alone with great enthusiasm. Rooting for you from Ireland 🇮🇪
Well said Brenda - a fellow Irish person here 🇮🇪😊
Diet Coke break!!
Well said Brenda - Irish heritage here in America 🇮🇪😊
The amount of work you’ve accomplished is astonishing.
Hear! Hear! I have watched channels that haven't accomplished a fifth in two years of what you have done in mere months!
That was not long enough. Can’t wait for the leveling up of the beams. I remember watching you throw all that other debris down that room thinking you would NEVER get it cleaned out. Skid steer to the rescue. So glad it could get through the doorway.
I knowN. I’m always sad when the video ends!
Susan the film crew is from Channel 4 UK. You will be able to watch this again there in the not too distant future. It's infectious
@@daisylovelock9553No confirmation that it's Channel 4. Possibly for My Dream Derelict Home In The Sun who featured Château de Lalacelle last year and cover this type of project.
@@daisylovelock9553 Since I live in the USA, i won’t be able to view it. I would love to be able to see the episode where Dan is featured.
@@LaReynedEpee ok
The crew is so outstanding that they become part of the amazing story!
Blown away by the perseverance and hard work of all the team, everyone of you are such hard workers and have achieved an incredible amount in such short time. Congrats Dan & co. Enjoy your well deserved bbq!
Wow!! How absolutely wonderful to finally see the room starting to take shape and reveal itself. My day is never complete until I watch an episode of Dan's daily Vlogs. What a huge difference to the chateau with the original lentil. It's amazing Dan! Fabulous work happening with everyone helping out. 👏 You guys are amazing!
Today, another mind blowing adventure. When you bought it, It seemed like the world's nuttiest pipe dream, but you, with the help of your plucky mates, have made the dream more real every single day. The things you've done through today have kept your viewers on the edge of their seats. From the peril of disintegrating walls that threatened to collapse on you if anyone sneezed to the "Dangling Toilet of Damacles" perpetually hanging over your head, the suspense has been riveting. Carpe Diem, baybeeee!
Yes, it's better when he's working on the ground floor, the roof section is particularly hazardous, and the more floors that go in the better in that regard!?!
Seize the day is just what they do. It is wonderful to see the ‘pipe dream’ unfolding.. have a very happy day🌞
The more I watched the bigger my smile got. The precision writhe which you restored the arch was inspiring to watch. Nick handles that machine like a master. Thank you so much.
When I see Nick maneuver the digger it makes me realize what novices Lalanders were with their digger in the first year they had it.
I thought you were mad when I first saw this Chateau way back. But along with your impressively growing viewers I have become hooked on watching you turn it around. Fantastic. This room is awesome, and gives us a glimpse of what you can see. Wow.
Chateau Phoenix! You've got her pulse, Dan! The kitchen is the heart of the home - can't wait to see what you'll cook up in the future! Great job/crew with everything you do ❤️
Take a bow boys, well done! Somehow seeing the different coloured floors made it more,, real, less ruin. Amazing work!
This crew is unstoppable!
Yesterday as the red and white tiles were revealed, I had my 3 young grandchildren lined up watching. Two of them were visiting from out-of-state, but when they've been here, I've shown them this channel with Dan and his project. I told their mothers they should make a practice of having the kids watch this show. It is mesmerizing to young or old and does a tremendous job of teaching the value of hard work. I've also shown this channel to my eldest grandchild (just turned 20), who was a naysayer. I plan on keeping him updated, and hope that Dan and all will be an inspiration.
Another channel your grandchildren might like is Escape To The Dream, Restoring The Château, where there is a young family member who always gets to do a little bit of the various jobs they tackle. It may well spark their imaginations.
I showed this channel to my 29 year old a few Vlogs back, when Dan was re-pointing/re-mortaring the basement stone walls. Within the 1st 5 minutes, she said, "He's a hard worker!" She also said he's crazy. 🙂 But we all know... what is one step shy of crazy? Passionate! And my daughter knows hard, crazy work...she and her siblings helped us clear out a family member's 110 yr old hoarder TX farmhome, complete with roaches, mice & everything they leave behind.🤢 Even 2 snakes. Clearout, Cleanup & renovation with a contractor's team took a year & a half, travelling several hours away many weekends to complete. Farmhome looks amazing now.
The floor and arch are amazing. They say Together Everyone Achieves More. What a TEAM 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Four absolute STARS
I get more, more excited, every passing day, to see how the Chateau is coming back to life 💕
OMG! Daniel I'm absolutely in awe. I just can't believe that you all got the arch back in, but even more, the whole room cleaned out! It's fantastic! Look at that amazing floor! CONGRATS! Well Done You! All Of You! It's so special that it seems like the room has a soul that's been reborn. Just stunning. 😀🙃🤩
She really is rising out of the ashes!!
The amount of debris you remove each day continues to astound me. I hope you are all having a good meal at the end of each day. You are all hard working men! That cement lintel was a lucky find.
Of everything that you all have achieved so far, experiencing the sheer size of the kitchen really brings the immensity of the Château to the fore. When you were working in the bathroom sections and even in the entrance hall, it seemed rather small for a Château. The kitchen is enormous and that's only one room, as all the floors above will be too. Your castle is taking shape, Sir, at a rapid pace. Oh, and the placing of the arch was a lesson in Masters at Work. ❤
Yeah, I gasped when Dan mentioned the steels were six metres long, and they run the short length of the room! Obviously he cut a bit off and they sit inside the walls but the shorter side is still something like 5.4 m, so the longer side has to be close to seven m.
Excited for you, Dan. The room is huge and the floor is gorgeous. Nick uses that little bobcat like a surgeon ❤
Having the arch restored makes such a difference to the look of the place. ✨ And that room is huge. Enjoy all the new daydreams about this part of the restoration. 💜
What a dream team , great job Dan, Calvin, Nic, Cameron ... it looks fantastic 😊 Definitely get a picture of the 4 of you on the stairs .. dirty and all
Before Dan said that that room felt different, I thought it felt habitable, I could almost feel the life that had lived there and see the life that was to come. Exciting stuff. Well done all 4 of you. Amazing stuff over the past few days 🥳
Incredible! So cool that your neighbor had those missing pieces of stonework. What a lucky break that was!!
Only someone with your interminable optimism could pull off a project like this. You and your mates are a dream team.
This channel content is such a metaphor for so many things in life. It’s almost a stoic philosophy channel. ⭐
Dan and friends. You all have beem amazing with your dedication. May you all be blessed. Love your channel.❤
Looks like the fingers don't wznt to work in the cold. The word beem should be been.😂
Nic mentioned the fan belt jumping off as one possibility of something that happened with his equipment, apparently the engine got hot and was pouring out steam from the radiator? I hope his engine did not burn out, that would cost him a lot to replace. He certainly pushed that hard the last 2 days on that massive clean out. What Nic got accomplished was absolutely mind blowing, along with the shoveling and lifting that everyone did, and Dan with his digger. Just incredible. Crossing my fingers that Nic's equipment will be okay and not be too big of a deal to repair.
I was thinking the same thing, watching the little skid steer work so hard with Nick in it. I was hoping it wouldn't break down in the middle of clearing out that room. My big skid steer needs work periodically...clearing debris takes its toll over time.
The place looks so good that before I renovate my own home I'm going to light it on fire and let it collapse into the basement. You've convinced me that's the way to go.
Nick is just amazing on those machines, what a master and jack of all trades.
I can’t believe how good that room looks after the clear out!! 🎉🎉🎉
WARGHHHHHH 😮. EPIC! Love everyone’s idea about you taking photographs of you all working and you can dedicate a room to all the finds and the process later by having the, on display🎉. I especially love the idea of the four of you sitting in the beams with sandwiches like the famous New York one
Dan's smile at the 4 minute mark says it all. Amazing effort, chaps!
I can’t tell you how much I thoroughly enjoy watching your progress on this chateau! You all amaze me ! Well done !!!
This room has become an almost magical space, the rock walls are particularly beautiful. The lighting is beyond awesome without the floor above, and I hope that in some way you can manage to preserve the effect this light now gives after you have closed the ceiling.
I agree, the light coming from the windows and thru the house is magical. I hope he an keep the magic of the light with the ceiling.
How fantastic to have another beautifully tiled floor intact Dan! Nick, Cameron, Calvin and Dan, what an awesome team on this room. Nick’s a legend - expert tree man to digger extraordinaire to mechanical floor scooper upper driver etc etc etc!😂👏👌🥰
This is one of the most exciting days yet! Just a huge WOW on the kitchen. I couldn't figure out what the stone bench thing was and then you put the photo up and bam! They probably stored wood under it and the fire above. And putting that arch back in, well that was amazing! It just fit right back in place! I'm so excited for each and every day to see this beautiful, historic Chateau back together and you living in it. WOW!
I've said it before. I'm gonna say it again... When I first saw the chateau, I never imagined you'd be where you are so soon. I lost my mind just looking at the thumbnail. This is beyond cool!
Renovation is getting more and more exciting. Waiting with anticipation.
Literally had a grin on my face the whole time watching that! Quite emotional seeing you all 'dance' to achieve amazing results. The best 11 minutes a day on KZhead ever!!
Dan, and friends, you are amazing. Just amazing. It’s incredible what humans can accomplish beautifully. Then there are those others that just create havoc and worse. But let’s not focus on those!! I’m so happy to be able to come along on such a positive journey with you all❤👏🏼
Another day of amazing progress with your phenomenal team! Your perseverance, Dan, is paying off! Really, really exciting!
That kitchen was the life of the home and you are feeling it now that you have brought it back to life... Totally enjoying watching your progress as this all goes on - thank you for sharing this with the world ;>)
Seeing your face Dan which always shows such Joy & enthusiasm for your amazing restoration project is so uplifting, what hard work this room clearing was, well done to everyone! Onwards & Upwards! John in Monmouth
I watch nearly all the French Chateau restoration vlogs. But Dan yours is an absolute daily must. My husband always starts asking me mid to late afternoon “has Dan uploaded his daily yet”. So I make sure to let him know when it’s up. He will stop everything he’s doing to watch. This is an amazing journey your on. Watching from the USA 🇺🇸.
That's really sweet of your husband, "Has Dan uploaded his daily yet?" Made me smile!🙂
I can't get over how great that floor is! And how amazing the restored arch looks. You must be so chuffed!
The floor tiles each time are amazing and still intact! Its so nice to have connections with friends that have the proper equipment to help with the heavy pieces and parts
I'm always impressed by the efficiency and precision of work by you, Nick and the team. Every step is well thought out, never wasting energy. I suppose you could write it off to experience, but it's more than that. It's a thing of beauty and very encouraging to watch.
The smile on your face, when the room was emptied, said it all… What a beautiful room, and what an awesome team, superb guys. The arch looks stunning. A well deserved BBQ. Stay safe… Dottie x
The Ace Team has done it again! Bravo to you all. Poor little pick-up truck is exhausted. 😢 Get well soon you Trojan baby. The kitchen and floor is fabulous. Whoopee, it's all so exciting. Well done guys and thank you. Xxx ❤
This is so exciting, Dan this has become my favorite show. Every day is another surprise, and the beauty of the place is coming into focus. I know Steph is excited watching the beauty come into focus. For some reason this last room is more beautiful than the first room. Dan this is great television, I didn’t know what to expect when you started on the journey, it seemed so overwhelming. Nick’s contribution is what is making a difference. I love the whole team. Keep going ❤💯
Perhaps b/c this room is so big. Ah, but the tiles from the main entrance room...beautiful!
Putting that arch back into place Was the most exciting thing to see. What a team you all are
Wow Dan, that was nothing shy of spectacular, what a crew! I am truly stunned at how that room turned out, and the floors are gorgeous and you fixed the arch too, with a barbecue, there is no messing around with you gentlemen! It's wonderful to see it coming together ❤😀. Well done !
Well that was bloody brilliant! I can't wait until you tackle those beautiful timber windows too in that room you've revealed. That arch is back home, it's wonderful. 👏
Hello Dan and crew! That room looks AMAZING all cleared out!! You all deserve grilled steak and beer for lunch/dinner you earned it.🍺🍺😎🍺🍺
Just want to echo all the great comments already given. It is astonishing how much you have achieved in such a short time. What a great crew you have. Thanks Dan, see ya tomorra🙏❤️
The kitchen is the heart of a home. I'm so amazed how beautiful the tile still is!! This is gorgeous project and it's a grand palace, Dan! ❤
Omg, that's amazing! I have to admit, I was a nay sayer. There's lots of daily blogs that I should go back and watch. I just didn't think you could really get this project going....but it's going! I'm happy to be wrong!
It is always such a thrill to go up that driveway and see the chateau come into view. It never gets old. Glorious!
That's awesome, Dan!! What the collective group of you have achieved in a few days is amazing! You're right, it gives a whole new feel to the Chateau now. Kudos to the four of you. 👏👏👏
What an absolutely amazing job. Just couldn't believe how you all achieved the clearing of all that rubbish. You should one and all give yourselves a well deserved pat on the back. Well done.
What a great accomplishment. You all must be over the moon! All of your hard work is really paying off. Can't wait to see this part of the Chateau weatherproof again for the first time in 40 years. Looks like that will happen much sooner than many of us watching could ever have imagined. Go team, go! 🎉
The old kitchen does look like a room! The floor looks great. The arch is really cool too. Nice work! Certainly a much better way of clearing out debris!
Clearing out of this room was incredibly satisfying to see. It’s really coming together now.
Holy Heck! This is so satisfying. Gosh if I am feeling happy and excited for you, I can only imagine how you feel Dan! That arch in place is golden! Extra hands and some machinery is the best thing that could have happened for you! 🥰
Watching todays video was extreamly overwhelming in a wonderful way. This room looks amazing, plus replacing the arch was a extra bonus. I do hope Nick digger is repairable as he needs it to work, what a team you all are. Well done everyone this was a great effort, emotionally draining watching it but so happy for you Dan. 💕🇦🇺
What a day! So much accomplished. The arch makes a big difference.
Dan Dan Dan I have no words! I felt really tearful watching today's vlog. I have followed you since you were gardening with 'Mummy' at Chateau De La Lande. What a man you have become!! You are probably more of a perfectionist now than Amaury and that's saying something. Your love and passion for your project is contagious and is evident in the enthusisium (?) of Calvin and Nick and the other lovely young man - apologies that I don't know his name but he is no less recognised for his energetic engagement. I feel like a proud mum. Looking forward to future developments. Wishing you and your crew good health. I look forward to following Nick when he starts his own channel.
Wowzah! What a fantastic floor you have uncovered, those tiles are beautiful! You four have done the most amazing job! You are hard working men, and deserve some fun time for sure! Just imagine standing in that room in the future, when it is finished, and knowing what you went through to get it there! xxx
It’s incredible what you’ve done on the chateau so far! It looked hopeless in the very beginning, but you’ve proved me wrong! The team work from the other guys has been so helpful to you. Nick is amazing! He can do anything! He’s one of the guys now! He’s great! It’s so exciting when you find artifacts from the original owners. You’ll have to have a case to show them off when all is finished! Amazing job Dan and friends!
OMG!! That kitchen is absolutely beautiful. Took my breath away. I saw some stone pieces in the rubble. I hope you will be able to sift through it all. Well done. This is a game changer. You have much to be proud of.😊😊😊
incredible to see how a team of hard workers can archive in such short amount of time, they all deserve a huge thank you, well done
So very satisfying to see this room literally "UNEARTHED " Great Teamwork Bravo 😊
I was searching for a word to explain how I an feeling watching it all come together for you. It’s ebullient. It means, overflowing with fervor, enthusiasm, or excitement; high-spirited.) Yep, that sums it up. All of that because of you Dan. Thank you. May you all please take care and stay safe. Louisa. 👏👏👏❤❤❤🤩🤩🤩

It's just amazing to see it emptied and see the room incredible made me feel tearful to see and how it was and to see how it will be again , it's beginning to see the light before lonely and dark can't believe it was so beautiful love the stone bench and the tiles. Dan you're friends are a treasures bless then for helping you hard working men , you can now see the building will be back in style can't wait to see it in all it's glory ❤❤❤❤
Keep up the good work. Its nice to see you installing structural mild steel Wide Flange Beams for the near future floor construction. God bless all those involved including your wife and children.
I absolutely love watching these videos! The changes that have happened in such a short time are amazing! I am a history teacher and I love seeing the objects you find-it’s like taking archaeology one step further by reconstructing the history.
I agree with you, and I think there is some sort of kismet or serendipity being brought to the workers and Daniel from the children that were hidden there, and the people who gave so much to care for others. Now, they are reaching back to bring the men strength and fortitude to keep moving forward. It's magical.
Props to all the hard workers teaming up for this Lovely Chateau! Once all dirt is clear there is so much Wow involved. Such an amazing adventure Thank you Sir Dan for sharing this with us!
When Dan mixes cement he does it just like folding into flour for cake baking! Whatever techniques he uses he is doing an amazing job
