Baggio's Revenge - Roberto Baggio vs AC Milan 1998 Serie A (2 goals)
A performance of the highest calibre from the Italian maestro - Baggio plays like a man possessed, with a point to prove and only he could prove it with such style and panache.
His former club, AC Milan and Fabio Capello had no idea what hit them and they could only sit back, watch dazed as Baggio weaved his magic.
Just sit back and enjoy artistry in motion.
Match footage was taken from here - • BOLOGNA-MILAN 1998
It was a great match and I'd recommend you all to watch it - The likes of Baggio, Paolo Maldini, Marcel Desailly, George Weah, Alessandro Costacurta, Zvonikir Boban and Patrick Kluivert feature.

My ALL Time Favorite football Player.. pure artist on the field.. Baggio brings Magic to the game whenever he plays.
Robi baggio the jenius
I am 45 years old i used to watch calcio when Robby was there ... Football was really an art when he was there ... All coaches he had were against him Lippi sachi etc hé had no chance ... He is the best player italy has ever had ... Look at Milan dessailly boban albertini maldini baresi etc and he Beats them all
Ibrahim Ba, Dario Smoje, Giampiero Maini, Giuseppe Cardone... Milan played like shit that season and that was the 2nd worst season of ACM during '90s. They finished 10th at the end, behind Udinese, Roma, Fiorentina, Bologna, Sampdoria... The worst one was a season before (1996-97) with Baggio in the squad when they finished 11th.
Baresi was not there.
Almost a full suite of perfection (his set pieces didn't quite come off for him on that day, he would save that for Inter): composure, vision and awareness, first touch, accuracy off both feet, tricks and feints, passing long/short, through balls, dribbling, positioning, team play, tenacity, two goals...... all against some world class players.
One of his better performances, was really fired up on that day and what a display it was.
genio
Admirable performance from Robbie Baggio.
Bolonga beat AC Milan 3-0 . wow, amazing. Unbeleivable.
You can see what football was then and what it is now when the forward of a small team like Bologna was Roberto Baggio, Kenneth Andersson and Kolyvanov. Ah, the football of the 90s. . .!!
Sempre spettacolare il tuo lavoro! Grazie! Spero di vederne ancora, di "all touches" così! Ogni tocco di Baggio è frutto di classe e intelligenza

That s what happens when u prefer boban to Baggio. Milan ac Biggest mistake this year
best thing happened to Baggio was actually moving out from ac milan, otherwise he would have missed France 98

I think these performances show that Baggio was criticised excessively for his "limited" defensive work-rate. He didn't run a lot or always track back or press, but I don't feel like it was to the level that it really hindered teams either, and he would still help out. He wasn't a work-horse like Tevez, but he wasn't lazy like Balotelli, or Cassano either, for example, who would just constantly be walking about up top off the ball. And then he would also try and position himself well for when his teammates won back the ball.
That is spot on. He wasn't a work horse but he was no slouch either. He could be counted on to do his defensive duties to a reasonable extent and he definitely wasn't a burden to his side off the ball or a defensive non entity. Besides, his astute movement off the ball, in combination with his dribbling ability and vision, meant that he was always a deadly threat on the counters.
Well said. If he didn't run around so much he would also have a legitimate excuse because of all the terrible injuries that he endured and the pain that he played through. It's a testament to his character that he didn't just walk about the pitch and did work for the team. It's scary to think what he could have done had he not sustained those injuries, given the already incredible career he had and the countless moments of magic he produced.
Precisely. Just goes off to show the sheer resilience and mental fortitude that Baggio possessed to forge out the career that he had, despite the adversities that he faced. www.football365.com/news/profile-of-an-icon-roberto-baggio
@@dangiambrone7350 Exactly, I agree! If only he had played today, where players are more protected and medical and scientific advancements have made surgeries a lot easier, and research into diets and other things have also helped players avoid injuries.
@@jackpuccini3143 ... Where the game is much more open, where great defenders are few and far between, where tackling from behind is outlawed, where coaches are far more inclined to attack, where the pitches are like bowling greens, where cameras capture absolutely everything on the pitch from numerous angles, where access to today's moments of magic is far easier to obtain and watch in crystal clear definition and find a much larger audience on social media..... This is why I find it unfair to compare players from different generations. Granted, there are many exceptional players today, but they have it so much easier now, so many advantages.
Could you do some videos on Antonio Cassano from his time at Sampdoria?
Sure thing, I'll get on it once I'm done with Baggio.

I don't know if it's legal to steal videos from other people's channels.
I did get the match footage from your channel on KZhead (a public platform) and used it to make a compilation on Baggio, as is the norm for making compilations (getting matches from youtube or other sources before making a compilation). If you have the copyrights to this video and you'd like me to take it down, I'd be glad to oblige. I can link your video in my video description if it appeases you though.
Sorry, maybe I was too rude. I often struggle to find some matches and I commented on impulse as soon as I saw my logo. Yes, I would appreciate if you added a link to my channel.
It's all right, no problem. I definitely empathize with you and it's definitely hard to find matches. I have already added your channel link and the video link to the video description. Also added your channel to my featured channel lists . Great channel that you have there!
