I always think Pog is saying “Are you not entertained” when he crosses the finish line with his arms out like that!
One of the most fitting references to Glad I've heard in a while 😂
Congratulations for 200k subscribers! Well deserved. You are the most entertaining and informative cycling content creator. Thanks a lot!
Thanks a lot Daber
completely agree, gratz to the guy
Don’t forget Benji…😢
easily the best - the only one i listen to during tour de france
Followed this legend when he was at 5k!
Looking back, this race was properly stacked!
A lot of PED stacks, for sure.
"1 car width or 2 Fiat Pandas wide"-proper Italian context there 😅
I tried the same descent last year during summer .. camera cannot show how brutal it is, narrow, awful tarmac with gravel, sharp corner.. it must a nightmare racing on it
Pog casually riding rimbrakes. Says a lot about the quality of the rimbrakes too. Just good stuff.
If I remember correctly he did that a couple of times last spring, also in Milan-Sanremo....
Rim Brake Pogi is the ultimate boss.
found your channel during TDF 2023, and have been an avid follower ever since, including the podcast, and EVEN going to past races and seeing your analysis on it. great content. cheers from Israel
Congrats on 200k LR, here for many more great recaps
Casual Wanterne Wouge W! Congrats on 200k! Well deserved! Thank you for these videos.😊❤️
Wantewne Wouge UwU
Pogacar also has said he likes the cold weather......it certainly showed in this race!
Congrats on 200k, you truly deserve it! Best cycling content creator there is 🚫🧢
Jonas was saying to Landa... "Why the fuck did you lead Pog out to attack and now your sitting in you muppet!"
Great as always. Been with you since before the beginning, Excellent!
🎉 200k 🎉 keep up the good work mate
Wish I have spotted Lanterne Rouge sooner! Only 1 year. Really well made videos. For complete cycle nerds. Gongrats with 200K. We are many out there!🇩🇰 Vingegaard vs Podacar part 1 awesome. Looks 5O/50 who has the best tactics? And the best teammates, advantage Jumbo Visma i think. What will Mads Pedersen do. Really good early season For Danes😜🔝❤️
Great video, short and concise.
Congrats on 200k Subscribers!
last rim brake victory for Pog
Road disc is PERFECT for locking up your skinny race tires on icey roads like this. Double drift thru them corners.
Thermobiblical content, congrats on the 200k subs, got me fully addicted to watching cycling! ❤
You shocked me there a little. Thankfully this was 2022 😂
I've been impressed with UAE's off-season additions. I suspect they will be a stronger, more cohesive support for Pog this year than last and I think we'll see that demonstrated next week.
yup pog just need that extra support, wva, roglic vingegaard in same lineup such overpower
@@blackdeadtiger That won’t make up for Jonas being better in the long mountains and beating Pog overall in the tts last year while relaxing at the end of the final tt.. Majka was awesome but Pog couldn’t get it done.
@@telmoliciousmaija was awesome?mate stop waffling and glazing your boy. Uae team was awful last year, they made a wrong preparation for pogi who had his form going down from the 1st week, they had an awful team at the start and lost half of it during the tdf,in fact the only one who helped pogi was McNulty during the hautacam stage, also even giannetti admitted they had no strategy for stage 11 and pogi had only to follow 4 jumo riders attacking him. It's a fact that pogi in shape in a fair battle without a super team against him or crashes will always beat jonas in the 100% of the time. The paris nice showed it clearly also i don't get why u mention last year tdf where jonas never dropped him and it was always his own team with rogla and wva. Also in the final tt pogi had no point of going full since he already lost the tour and to add smt in the same ITT he lost many seconds by nearly crashing in the descent. It's a fact that pogi is clearly the better rider compared to jonas, someone who needs 3 of the best 5 riders itw to beat his rival
@@17k3ra Did u just compare Paris Nice to the Tour? Im dead 😂 NO one is denying that Pogi beats Jonas in shorter races but to compare that to the tour is laughable.
@@telmolicious laugh now😂
Pog with rim brakes = unbeatable
Poggers
Yea, it's the rim brakes that make Pog fast. Yea. That's it. ;)
Durian?
I guess in the end since they were both targeting the tour this performance most relevant feature is that Pog was going to sell too soon and in the end he was past his best by the tour… he’s awesome though and I love that he races to win all the time.
Great video as always. Really curious to see how that TTT shapes up at Paris Nice. Might give Vingergaard the upper hand 🤔
Or Pidcock surprises us all again 😉
@@_ItsYoursTruly he'll be at tireno
Pog seemed to have the measure of both Jonas and Remco at last year's Tirreno Adriatico. What a difference a year makes. Both Jumbo and Quickstep have obviously invested heavily in scientific training methods to raise the level of their leading men towards winning World and Grand Tours. But if there is any one who seems to relish a challenge, it is Pog. And, hopefully, he will have learnt from his mistakes during the TdF and control his impulsiveness and natural desire to respond to each and every attack.
Man, investing in scientific training methods isn’t what makes the difference. Pog is just more capable of being in form for a longer period of time than for example Jonas. The windtunnel isn’t gonna make Jonas climb faster.
@@magnuskroghvinther8500 The wind tunnel may not have made Jonas a better climber, but it probably made him a better time trialist.
@@ravi06197 That is true, but we also saw in Lombardia after the tour, how Pog kept his shape while Vingegaard lost a lot
@@magnuskroghvinther8500 He seemed to do okay at Le Tour.
@@cincydooley That's not the point Magnus is making, he's saying that Pog doesn't peak as high as Jonas has the potential to, but perhaps because he's a bit heavier Pog can sustain a very high level of form for a long time (e.g. his win at Il Lombardia later in the season). I disagree, because we don't really have any way to analyze Pog's form after March last year because he essentially fell off the face of the earth. I think Pog peaked in spring, then peaked too late again in the latter half of the season (or, perhaps, the competition at Il Lombardia is not as fierce as Le Tour...).
I was there, what a beautiful stage..still remember the cold!!Cippo di Carpegna Is so tough that i bet they felt hot!!!😀
love PN for the crosswinds, but TA is the best one-weeker all year
The good thing about road disc is they often rub under power so you can hear riders coming up behind you vs having to look around.
crash at 7:15 for mas looks so weird. probably some ice on the road, but it looks totally unprovoked.
200k baby lesshgoooo
“Maybe a simple Google search would tell me the answer” cracked me up 😂
A very technical decent......just one car or two Fiat Pandas wide....Fantastic!
Great vid. Do you think Jonas wasn't yet at a level to challenge Pog here, or was this a long game to game to make Pog feel superior that they capitalized on months later? Minor critique. Heard your discord notification at 1:23
Great to see Pog doing what he does best 👍
Will you do Paris-nice or Tirreno-Adriatico highlights this year?
Daily Paris-Nice highlights here and coverage of both Tirreno and Paris-Nice daily on Lanterne Rouge Cycling Podcast: www.youtube.com/@LanterneRougeCyclingPodcast/featured
Il carpegna mi basta! I love this climb!
if it is not hot, pogaçar is the best climber, rain and cold conditions are the best for him
True, though, you can't underestimate Pidcock when it comes to climbing
You should start measuring everything in fiat pandas
Pog riding with a Rim Break? With this kind of weather condition ? Durian Rider should see this 😂😂😂
Oh don't worry, he's going to make a whole new Playlist for this one
I think Jonas is just Cautious
Interesting how all 3 2022 grand tour winners were in this race and none of them won it
Will be interesting to see whether this is repeated or reversed.
I love watching your videos with the CC on Charlie Pagacha Uranus linger guard Primo's rockwich Allah Philippe Michael Lander Davide Formula Eva Nepal head to head at Parry niece on the Lantern recycling podcast
😆😆😆
Bruh 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Charlie Pagacha 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thank you
So thankful I found your channel. Never before have I known of let alone seen these races. Yes, I live in the US, where sadly cycling is not given the coverage it deserves. As a cyclist I have always given it back to the dullards who are US football fans. A football game is about fourteen minutes of actual physical activity!
Just for context, thirty years ago in the USA we had to wait about three months for World Cycling Productions to release these race videos on VHS, which we would have to borrow from the lending library at the bike shop on a first come, first serve basis. The entire stage race would be on one tape, two for the grand tours.
brutal conditions. paris nice is gonna be excellent
200k weiooooooow 💪💪👍
The best 1-2 competition cycling has ever seen...i believe these 2 will go back and forth in all races they enter together for the next few years...no clear separation makes for exciting racing!
No, just no. You don't even need to go back a lot to find better rivalries (just watch some cyclocross and you know what I mean). Vingegaard beat Pogacar once, and that's the only race I can remember where they actually went head to head. Not saying it is not going to happen, but as of now this statement is simply not true.
Rim for the win baby!
Big Pog fan, and of course I'm bised. He looks really good! We will see what happens at TDF.
Nice blue jersey!
Lots of people coming in thinking that these are new races. Maybe you could consider including "Rewatch" in the titles or something similar to clear the confusion 😅
Me too. I was confused when I read the title "Tadej Pogacar Crushes Vingegaard on Freezing Climb". I asked myself "When did Pogacar beat Vingegaard this year?" When I saw Alaphilippe with rainbow jersey, then I realized that the video is new, but the race is an old one 😀
Pure human power , I love it
I think that pogacar was beaten by the team of jumbo and his ego and not one person. This is obvious. The guy is very strong
Yep. Cycling is a team sport where individual performances stand out. That team spirit is very, very present in Jumbo Visma.
@@TuxBoli #samenwinnen
Pogacar is back with a vengeance, he's out to prove something this year..
This Race was Last year😅 But yes he is in great shape. This year will be fun to watch
LOL last year
@@vavak5069 Lol just saw that too, I was wondering why Alaphilippe was wearing the rainbow....But I stand by my opinion :) Pogacar is out to prove he's the best this year
@@Dennis-gr8ex It's literally in the title and the description. Plus any cycling fan knows that Tirreno is next week...
@@andrasszabo1570eh have you fully adjusted to it being 2023 yet? I still occasionally think of 2019/2020 as last year so reading 2022 might not be enough to think about last year.
From the couch it kinda looked like Landa was working for Pogi.
What year is it?
Landa often does not win, but he always goes to the front.
Primoz is back!!!!! This will give Wout something to do this Tirreno. Belgium's will love it. 200!!!!!!👍👋
Fiat Pandas should be the official road width measurement, just like we get Olympic swimming pools/MCGs for volume/area
Got baited with the year again smh...
crazy how people train all year, and one is so much stronger than another. just insane
Gotta love a Fiat Panda!
Rim brakes!!! 🦾
This year Vingegaard will crush Pogacar on stage 7 Paris-Nice 🙆🏼♀️🇩🇰🌝😏🇩🇰🙆🏼♀️
What? Primoz? Primoz!
Seems an irrelevant comment, but wasn't Bilbao tucking on the top tube @4:01 ? Are they allowing again? They should.
No, he kept his butt on the saddle, see this video analysing his unusual position - kzhead.info/sun/lap8lrptfKRrZKs/bejne.html
@@LanterneRougeCycling Thanks for the reply! It's a great position and loophole to the rules. Really enjoyed the video as usual!
@@timrush8544 Yeah...a really unique poophole...I mean loophole in the rules.
Last ever WT win on rim brakes?
200k! Do we get out bucket hats now?
Pogacar is best stage racer in world But vingegaard knows better how to peak once, for tour
He born with one of the best hearts doctors ever seen
Pog proving rim brakes are more than good enough for steep and curvy descents.
Really enoy the idea of these previous year recaps but it doesnt help me at all with getting used to all the sponsor switches haha
Rim brakes ✅🥇🏆
V4rs with rim breaks?
get that GCN money, Pat! congrats
Rim brakes🔥🔥🔥
All part of the master plan to undersell Jonas before the tour
Jonas (last year) preseason was ruined by a injuries.
2022 is so passé
Notice pog and most of UAE are on rim brakes 🤫
Ah yes, Tirreno; where you can see your breath and choose full finger gloves but still wear shorts.
Is this the 2023 race? Unclear with the 2022 title??
O Lanterne, you are the true master of click bate! Last years race! Lol! You get me every time. What the heck, I stay and watch it anyway and drop a comment for the algorithm.
LR now in GCN? im okey with this
Pog takes the win on the difficult hilly course, riding rim brakes. I can just hear one YTer screaming about how he had an unfair advantage. Another good day for Colnago!
GOAT
I used to race bicycles in Park City Utah. Freezing winters. The climbs usually are not freezing until you get to the top and start descending.
the blue shades are too hard
Vingegaard looked pretty strong last week even if it was against weaker opposition. Im backing Jonas
Jonas in the ITT really impressed me. Rohan Dennis, a two-time WC, beat all the rest by 24 seconds. No surprises there. Jonas crushed his time by 35 seconds. Amazing!
@@rossmurray6849 Probably took an advice or two from his neighbour Bjarne
@@11-inch salty?
What does it mean?? Pogy crushes Vingy one day. The next day Vingy crushes Pogy. Who is actually the better rider?
That was then…Paris Nice is now Go Vingo
Why do we see this kind of headline for something happenig a year ago 🤨
Last year.😅 Jonas won TOUR.
2022 ? What are we looking at?
Hopefully none of these riders are dopers man? Just win the race with pure human stamina and endurance. That's what we want to see.
rim brake is still relevent..it certainly showed in this race!
GOATED
