So let me get this straight. The dev team is divided and leadership on the team isn't focused enough to provide solutions. Too much ego and ulterior motives. No wonder royale sucks now
yeah thats pretty much been the situation for a while. I like Drew a lot, and i really hate when people hate on him and Max for these decisions that are clearly made by the dev team or higher ups.

All about the money. You can say that you care for the experience of the player base, but actions speak louder than words.
This change you've made on this channel has been an incredible transition Ash. I stopped watching for awhile because I gave up on Clash Royale, but im a big fan of the direction you've taken.

Thank you for addressing the issues SuperCell. The $50 Cannoneer and Tower Chests that only seem to produce Princesses, which I already have at maximum level, and the frequent release of overly powerful cards that later get nerfed after you have raked in your money, has really contributed to the game's experience. It's been truly enjoyable.

(Remember them making the exchangerate for elite wild cards even worse right after they got backlash? Its just a joke)

The game is better than it’s ever been in terms of gameplay. I’ve been playing for over two years. They need to pay the bills. The f2p community is exactly that… playing for free. I have come to the other side of this where I don’t understand how f2p players can bash a game strictly because the company needs money to stay alive. Anyway, just one guys opinion but this interview broke my heart. Look how much he cares and how the hate has truly hurt him.
The goal should be the balance of longevity of a strong community. The community then will support and pay you back. Now, you can barely find an active clan.
They messed up when they bought diamond pass and from then it's just downhill for them!
I quit playing Clash Royale after six years because the latest updates focused more on making money than providing enjoyable content.
I'll tell you right now, I spent a TON of money on the game completely willingly. More than I've spent on any other title ever by a factor of 10 or more. I LOVED this game but I quit right before one of the level bumps. I stuck around for champions but the level cap going up AGAIN was just ANOTHER crazy grind I didn't want to do.
Try playing war thunder, castle clash, crossout, or any microtransaction-heavy games. This game is incomparable tbh, take it from me personally who spent 7,500$ on gaijin games
It's nice that they FINALLY admitted that what they were doing was motivated purely by money and that they are going to change but sadly too bad that in the same time that he is saying that Evolutions are behind a pay wall so the average f2p player has to wait for months to get card evolutions New cards are released in the op state I won't come back to Cr until they will actually do something good because nice words aren't gonna fix the game
They have no ads and the game doesn’t cost money obviously they want to make money lol. Did people really think they were motivated to have a great game for fun and to lose money?

Try to keep playing the game anyways in case you would've missed out on progression other players will get in the time being and complain about it
classic trash take. this game could monetize it self properly if it wanted to but the dev team keeps messing up and the more they mess up the less confident they think cr is gonna be around. they dont think its gonna last so they want to wring every last cent they can before it dies. i swear if you look at the other teams on other projects, hell even hay day was better regulated than cr. brawlstars and clash of clans are better for a reason@@Jackattack1555
and BTW brawlstars was in the exact problem where they were making a great game and NOT making money hence the new updates to tackle on more monetization. so yeah. supercell wants to make quality games im surprised most people who play their games dont know this, cr is the outlier.@@Jackattack1555
F2P IS STRAIGHT UP TORTURE at this point, extremely difficult to compete in high ladder. And P2W players are now stuck with the addiction of having to keep spending for the advantage. This whole game is horrible now.

i left Clash Royale about 6 months and never looked back. Sorry to see such a wonderful game never get it right when it comes to balance or listening to the user base.
The game has never been better. It’s just great now, I’ve been playing for 5 years. It was getting stale.
Then allow starter evos to be free to obtain and allow the whales to spend money to max them out quickly.

I quit playing after the pass royale update & level 15. I didnt mind spending $5 a month. With the never ending wars, the game just became a chore, a chore i was paying for. If they revert all their b.s. updates, i might go back. Left a maxed level 14 account with max gold, thousands of gems and maxed points to upgrade skins

I played CR since beta in Canada (1st country it was released I believe) and quit 3 times since then. My last time was about a year ago and I haven't looked back. Money grabbing Company who ruined a great game. Updates were purely about $$$ and not about improving the quality. Brawl Stars is their best game currently because it is actually a bit easier to progress and not as expensive to compete at higher levels.
Upping the king level was a killer for me. I was almost getting close to being maxed. Upping the cards max level is annoying. Adding champions and making them hard to level up killed it for me.
I am still mad about the update for lossers, and the evo update

Havent played since April. I gave up hope and his entire interview confirmed i wont pick it up. Knowing things are bad ignoring the feedback and then getting angry when heat is applied. I get fired when i dont preform at my job i dont get to spin the narrative on my boss.
I haven't spent a dime in the game since they *announced* level 15. I'd bought every single pass before that and lots of shop offers too. I kept playing for awhile, but I've all but quit at this point and just do the clan wars to help my clan.
I'm really glad that I had more than 10mil when both slash royale hit. I was able to max out so many cards and I was finally enjoying the game again and then evo cards came out and after that lvl 15

Their entire equation is based on maximising revenue as with all freemium games. It's a completely different model to selling a product where the financial success is based on its quality. The freemium model is akin to giving crack cocaine to teenagers for free to develop an easily exploitable addiction. The trade off between fun and the fury of being exploited is only of concern to them based on the financial equation - as long as the money goes up they will readily absorb that fury. It's all numbers and data and they have talented people figuring out how to build the addiction. Give little prince for free - make it the best card in the game for a month - force people to pay to upgrade it. It's an obvious scheme. When you accept that your feelings as a fan and a player are not important you can just accept the freemium model for what it is.

I was 100% f2p since launch day until they released pass royale. Since then, they got a consistent 5$ a month out of me because the value was so good. That was until they decided to jack up the price and lower the rewards. I haven't spent a dime on CR in years and now I only play the game when I'm at the DMV or taking a shit. There is a balance when it comes to monetization and they seem to have lost touch with the community by introducing loads of predatory monetization tactics that weren't present before.
Ash please I've been watching for more than 5 years always look forward to you're videos there is a wave of clash streamers u should host them and find gems my boy just like kill tony podcast does with comedians

"We need to do better for players in the next updates". I played since global launch and quit shortly after lvl 15 came out. It's too late, I'm never going back. Nothing I can think of will make me reinstall that game.
I’m honestly thinking of quitting now. Every month that goes on I’m falling even more behind and at a disadvantage because I don’t spend money on the game. It’s money > skill now

They are just really stupid or just try to milk the Community. I mean i see like 10 offers everytime i open the shop, there is no way they wouldn't be critizicted for that shit. Evolution are way too op, 50000 cards for a single card to max is way too much took me like 4 month f2p. What did they expect? I feel way too much pain for investing more than 6y into this game. At least Coc is still doing a pretty nice job, but cr failed me!
Why not just remove the silly new mechanism to upgrade cards to level 15? Just use the same as every other level. It's just unnecessarily complex and different, for no real reason at all.
This champion and legend rate on wild card transformation is downright stupid!

Quit the game when the new max level came out. Best decision I ever made. The game became too much focused on making money, whilst also adding in way too many game modes + clan wars. If you miss wars, clan gets upset. it made it start feeling like playing clash Royale became a job rather than a hobby.
It's a money thing. Has three really expensive guitars in the background.
I’ve pretty much given up the game. I still don’t have more than one evo and I don’t have a single level 15 card yet. As a result the game is pretty much unplayable for me. I only face you are a full level above with evolutions that I don’t have. Like I can’t win.

As long as there is something in a card game that makes a few cards stand above the other cards by a lot and is only accessible with money, there will be backlash. Think twice about your evolutions because the level increase isn't (yet) killing while evo's definitely are
Their focus is hey we need to make a lot more money so you are required to give us 120 bucks to be able to have fun still….. after that we’lol try to make it better a little bit
Bad things happens on Hay Day as well. So fun you say money grabbing thing you don’t like. That’s only thing supercell is thinking about with Hay Day.
I played clash for 6 years and it was absolutely ruined for me as a F2P player when they decided to change the direction of the game. I’ve not touched it in around a year now and I ain’t looking back
For everyone currently on Clash Royale. Im an OG that left over 5yrs ago i had CR before it was released in the USA anyway for everyone realizing now CR doesnt care about F2P it happens every so often and it doesn't matter to these companies because there will akways be a new wave of people just getting into the Game. It happened back in the COC days, its not longer as big as it was but game is still bringing a steady cash flow. Same thing with CR, alot of people might leave but you guys were the F2P thats not what the company wants.

I quit clash around 6 months ago, would anyone mind explaining what they screwed up this time?
Pass royale 2.0, free side was nerfed, diamond side was added for freaking 12$, gold pass was nerfed and price increased by 1$ (idk if you was there then) Evolutions - incredibly overpowered versions of cards. You need to cycle them a couple of times 2 use them, F2P needs around 6 months to get 1 evolution (and they're releasing them 1 per month)
@@fifty725 Oh well, I used to put quite a significant amount of money into the game, during my 5+ years of play, had everything maxed out, but killing F2P eventually kills the game for paying players as well. Guess I made the right decision.
At least they admit they were wrong and they want to do better!

Honestly the update for losers was the worst thing in CR. I dislike this evo stuff very much. I miss the fun we had in 2018 and 2019. CW 1 was so fun with all those random decks. CW 2 ist absolutely dead and CR gets even more pay2win as it was before. It used to be such a cool and fun game but these times are over. I stopped playing CR so I can keep the good memories and they dont get destroyed by this awful game it is now
They keep reiterating in interviews that they care about the game. True, but they care about milking every penny out of the player base 1000x more than the game. So at the end, the game gets ridiculously grindy and pay to win, unless you wanna grind for years. A good battle pass is a ticket to consistent revenue for many games, and supercell really shot themselves by being extremely greedy. So they really should stfu about “oh we care about the game, we want what’s best for the community…”. No, you just want easy cash. Never will pay another cent to supercell ever again. To sum up, supercell makes awesome games. But IMO they are a crappy company, especially pointing my finger at those who keep coming up with these lame decisions to milk every penny out of the player base. You’re only destroying yourselves by doing this.

Played Clash since the start and your full blown money grabbing updates and decisions made me finally quit. Sad cause its a fun game that I enjoyed for years.

I really hate the new info update in Clash of Clans. Its called dark game design which basically means for Coc, that the upgrade Gold button once you click it the confirm gold button moves to the side and the confirm magic items button is at exactly that spot. Also you cant see how much till max. Such a bad direction Supercell is taking.

So i was just watching a bit of the CR world finals, and its a shame to not see you cast that sh*t 🤷♂️ sure i havent truly followed the game and its new faces as they lost me with their no brain moneygrab updates but still who are these nobodys ?? I just cant understand how CoC has managed to do so well over the last decade and CR with its extreme potential (being sort of modern chess) just self destroyed itsel ocer the years. Man i miss you Ash covering the conpetitive scene. Funfact to this day i still categorically use code CWA 🥰
clash royale has completely ruined the game, my account has been maxed for over a year so that tells you how long i have played and i can honestly say i DO NOT have fun playing this game anymore. im at almost 9000 trophies right now and i literally play the exact same decks every single battle and to make it even worse they made it impossible to get level 15 cards unless you spend an absolutely absurd amount of money on the game

Its done for at this point. If you dont like the game how it currently is, then quit now. It will never be better than it currently is. Its all downhill from here. They will continue to squeeze out every penny while making the game worse. Its a shame what a horrible job they did with one of the best mobile games. It could easily still be on the top lists and it could be making literally 10 times more money than it currently is. F2P community feels so entitled. They don’t pay for anything yet expect everything. SC is a company that has to turn a profit. If you aren’t paying for anything and don’t like the game, don’t play. Easy as that. No one owes you anything

I fully disagree with the hobbit nerd there there are plenty games that you pick up for 29,99 and just have fun forever with it whenever you wanna play it you just pop it in and there like oh it’s really important to make money they already made billions with clash Royale it literally put supercell on the map but I guess a billion isn’t enough ey i sincerely hope that ugly hobbit to the right and his entire team get caught in a finish volkano or something you have those over there right
