at 3.48 the knock on the alloy to the machine, that freaked me out. Then worse still at 9.01 when he drops the metal bar onto the alloy, that's just a massive NO NO. Some people look after their cars and wheels and this is NOT how to treat someone's wheels. Take pics of your wheels ALWAYS BEFORE they get done, so you can prove they've caused any type of damage or scratch to them. This is a great video in showing you HOW damage can be caused to your wheels but you just DID NOT KNOW where it occurred!! Now you know!! Listen, it is not an easy job and you need to use a bit of effort however, care people's wheels, they are coming to PAY for damage when you see issues at the timestamps I've shown! I have a local tyre place to me in London and I only let one guy at my Rims as he's been there for 20 years and he's class, everyone goes there because he's well experienced and cares for people's cars and wheels!!

@carlosamorales6464 жыл бұрын
I will admit some tires are directional, but they usually have an arrow. As for the DOT/date tag, owners preference. I had idiots insist tire had to have DOT tag mounted to the inside, or outside. It probably looks better out of site. A guy I worked for bought a big lot of tires at a very cheap price, the DOT number showed tires were 10 years old.

Shows how to not damage alloy rims... and yet he slams the duck head down onto it multiple times and drops the lever onto it. He also lets the lever come off the “ducks head” & drop onto the rim when it’s rotating. None of these were necessary to the process, & ironically all of these practices cause damage to the lip of an alloy rim. Otherwise not too bad, but if those were my new shiny rims I’d be pissed.
@davidjolliffe96222 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the feedback. The video is intended for my students practicing on rims in class so I can understand the confusion of others watching them. My tire machine mounting head (duck head) has a plastic piece inside it so that the metal mounting head does not actually contact the rim. It's not hitting the rim as bad as it sounds and then the locking lever actually lifts the mounting head up off the rim. As far as the lever goes, when we do a nice rim for real (not class practice), I have a plastic sleeve that does over the bar does the metal does not hit the rim. The problem is they wear out really fast. Great observations and thanks for the comment!

Damm I just started working at a shop and sometimes I change tires. We only pop the bead once on the face and twice on the back. U went a good 20 times on the back lol. Is that really necessary?
Thanks for sharing 🙏
You make it all look so easy! 😂
It is easy
Where did u get the wheel from that push down on tire to keep tire under the duck head
What make and model is that tire machine?
great video
where can i buy this machine, and how much does it cost? i'm planning to put up a auto servicing shop. thank you so much.
Its a HunterTCX550. I think it was about $6,500 but you can pick up cheaper machines from other companies. The quality just isn't as nice.
hello ,we are car tyre machine supplier in china ,add my whatsapp or wechat 180 1239 1636 we can chat about it
Very good instructional video - thanks for sharing!
muy bueno el video, pero hay q utilizar guantes pa hacer el procedimiento
Top vid 👌
You only have to break the bead in one spot and then throw it up in the table. Just simply pushing down on the sidewall will easily break it the rest of the way. That way you don’t have to spend so much time in the shovel
Do you have a video how to dismount and mount a tire manually?
Protege X no but I have watched a ton on KZhead. One of these days I will give it a try.
wanted to learn this craft. I want a selection from you. Is it good? Thank you
Yes it is! Good luck to you!!
Is there better than them advise me
I find the sport tires to be really difficult, they piss me off
3:46 was that metal on alloy on the outside rim😱 I'm sooooo paranoid about my tyres getting changed because I'm OCD with my alloys. Other then that. Very informative👌
absolute zero if they put a rag under the bar it will keep it from scratching the rim. Also, they make a plastic sleeve to go over the bar if you are really concerned. Thank for watching!!
@@MrAdkinsAuto can a wheel get cracked by locking it down from the inside of the barrel opposed to you locking the outer edge?
Why are you hitting the bead 50 times....just move the tire and hit another spot...
how many brand of tire machines are out there? I seen a different type in an auto class.
A lot of different companies make them but they are all pretty much the same. Lower cost ones have a table top like the one in this video. More expensive ones have a center post the rim mounts to and also might uses rollers to assist in breaking the bead, etc.
If ya used one, they are all pretty much the same... The pedals may change but other than that it's all the same
Some tires are also directional
What brand is that rim on the ground if you don't mind me asking?
I don't remember but I believe it came off of an older Mazda 5 (2005 maybe?). Was a students car and they bent the rim. We use it for measuring rim runout. Sorry
How much this unit?
thanks man
Assalamu Alaikum how are you brother brother I am also a mechanic like you I work in tire shop like you I have last seven years of experience can you tell me which mechanic is needed in your shop I am a Bangladeshi citizen I am 20 years old my name is Mohammad Arif Hossain
You mentioned breaking the bead in the 12 and 6 o clock position but what is the reference point to know where that is?
Think of the valve stem as 3 or 9 o'clock. You are avoiding the bead breaking lever making contact with valve stem.
Thank's.
Who is this guy? Why not let a real tire tech show HIM how to use this machine
at 3.48 the knock on the alloy to the machine, that freaked me out.
I agree, but those alloys already looked in terrible neglected condition.
You watched the whole video to find two times he MIGHT have caused the absolute tiniest mark on the wheel. 1000% guarantee setting the pry bar on the wheel didn't scratch the wheel. Clown.
thankyou
What brand of machine?
Hunter. I really like it
Great video!
How much sir machine vulcanaize
Where can I get a duckhead roller for my machine?
Amazon
@8:36 the metal bar touches the rim. Won’t this scratch it?
No because he sticks the crowbar under the duck instead of under the rim so it doesn’t get scratched
Tyres are hard to do I just keep doing it until I get better
Nice 👍
Use this machine if you want to damage your rims and tyre.
What about the ducks neck ? It’s making contact
Great teaching video but to many advertisements
GOOD JOB you must need a good eye if a customer gives you those spray on chrome rims like i just got ripped off for by WHEEL SMART LLC Houston, TX United States of America my 2017F150
This video explains why rims always come back dinged up at the edges after I get my tires changed. Slamming that big metal arm against the rim while breaking the bead like that.
That's why you go to a an alloy garage after you dummy
@@crashcandiboot3529 Not sure what that sentence means, but ok...
Did you see dude smack the wheel with the tire iron? Lol nope not letting this guy touch nice wheels
46 dislikes are tire shops that just got busted for scratching peoples rims, lol, some thought it was curb scuffs damaging their rims
3:46, 7:22, 8:46, 9:35, 11:20 are times when this guy probably scratched or dinged the wheel, lol so this shop scratches wheels too i bet.
I been knew the shops were doing the damages.
Tire changer machine IS good. Problems all them balancer. STRESS FULL.. (NEED NUMBER . SIZE)
You should train the oafs at Halfords in the UK. They damaged all four alloy wheels in the faces. They blamed a poor previous refurb. Maybe they should have stopped after the first was damaged 😤 To top it off they are refusing to pay for the repairs. Only half cost of two wheels 😤 All this and they have no touch machines!
When installing a tire some say inside some say outside and some dont say nothing . The tire has the dot date in one side and the other side has the dot number but not the date on tires like that how can i determine witch side is front or backwards
I love doing this job. When ever I strip an old tyre. My guys just take my rim and put new tyres for me.
then he hits the clamp
اوكي
And I can put new tyres. Without damaging the tyres
How much this tire machine..i have plan to buy..and how to order plsss..
I use Hunter Engineering and love their machines. Their website has links to your local sales rep. This machine was about $6,000-7,000 but cheaper options are available for closer to $3,000. The service rep then has to come out and assemble it.
I like pros.
Great observations and thanks for the comment!
really.
Apa masi ada
I like the low profile low profile tires The tire didn't look very tight to the rim looks like the Tyler Lever fell right in you didn't have to push it at all Good tutorial Shame about the b******* that it was a tight fitting tire
NEVER BREAK BY THE VALVE THIS IS A NO NO.ITS CALLED A VALVE CORE NOT A VALVE STEM. HOPE YOUR FINGER HEALS SOON.
Xmas
Carlos Salinas see bende
Holy fuck I felt myself get stupider
If that were a brand new rim you would have destroyed it
Or you could just man handle it and use your muscles like I have done for years...;)
UCN Conversions I’ve done it too but it’s a treat when you can just use a machine work smarter not harder
you will never work for me you take too long busting the rim
I’ve had to shops gouge the F*CK out of my rims. I’m not sure how they did it but it ruins my life and I want blood.
Smh
5 minutes to break the bead , I would’ve been fired by now 🙄🙄🙄
Clearly hes doing it at a slower pace as a tutorial for new comers
He's shooting a video. Also, tires stick wheels sometimes, especially on the back bead. If you're not aware of this, you haven't done enough tires
Makes a 5 minute video into 15.
Your tire mounting and dismounting video sucks
this guy just tried the same side like 5 time smh 2:52
Very well explained and shot. Thanks, mate!
