Your journey has been remarkable with the chateau and as sad as it may seem, I will always appreciate the wonderful improvements you've accomplished. The salon project is the best chateau DIY project I've ever seen and for you to be able to share that experience and give this structure a second chance, is commendable.
I can’t imagine that the chateau would be sold. Too much work has already occurred. Carole and Adrian are so talented it would be a shame to see incomplete work.

I think everyone can sympathise with your predicament , the time spent travelling , family issues and now a new baby on the way must all take precedence . You both contributed your skill and talents to preserving this chateau znd it is beautiful. It’s huge but not so huge that it’s impossible for modern day people. You are both so talented. I hope you can find a property to renovate that is close enough to your business and family because you have a love and passion for beautiful old architecture, and you are so talented. I know you already renovated an English cottage, and found it to be somewhat dark inside, and I know the prices are high, but maybe you can find something that isn’t dark and cramped but also not too expensive.

If it’s any consolation, I spent 12.5 years restoring an historic mansion in downtown Detroit Michigan by myself (I was 40 when I bought it). I was also working a full time corporate job. When I finished it, I realized my passion was the restoration process. Like yours, it was a show place. A wonderful young family bought it. It was part of my journey but not my destination👍. Sundays and Wednesdays will never be the same but I have so enjoyed what you and your family brought to your channel ❤

I just want to say from the bottom of my heart what a pleasure and inspiration it has been to watch your journey. I live in a similar size and age property in a remote part of Wales. Living in and renovating a large old building is very overwhelming! For us it took 6 years before we really started to reap the rewards and of course the maintenance never stops. What you have both achieved is simply extraordinary especially in such a short space of time. Is there anyway you could get (known and trusted) volunteers to live and work at the chateaux while you sort things out with your company in England? Just an idea. Whatever you decide I have no doubt you will make a complete success of it. Also don't ever forget that thanks entirely to your skill, determination and love the very beautiful Chateau 'de le Ferte now has a future.

If it were this time next year I would make you an offer on the spot. I’ve watched literally every video and feel like I know the Chateau better than I would after a regular estate agent viewing! I have always thought your Chateau perfect, it’s exactly what my husband and I are hoping to find and I’ve secretly always wished you would sell, so we could buy it, but never imagined you would. In fact we’ve been “window shopping” for a few years (my parents live outside Toulouse) and never seen anything as perfect. Sadly, we aren’t quite ready to make the move because our kids need to finish high school first. I can’t imagine it won’t sell quickly but if it’s still on the market in 12 months, I will be reaching out! Adrian we would totally let you come back and continue your work! I subscribe to several chateau renovation channels, and the one common denominator all chateau owners share is chronic exhaustion. This seems to be the case even though most of them aren’t traveling back and forth between two countries. And chateau renovations are not a project for the weekend warrior; they are a full time job (and then some!) in themselves. Their age, sheer size, and heating/cooling costs are daunting. So, I think it is fair to say we all understand the decision to sell. The work you have done is top notch; we all just hope if/when the chateau does sell, the new owner will complete the remaining work at the same high level. 😊

I have just booked the ferry from Portsmouth to Caen to visit my place in France. The cost from last year when we first went is so much more this year. It is a trek in time as well. You have worked so hard on this project and what you have done has been beautiful. Who ever does buy it will have a good base to finish the project.
