Raindrops
Stardrops
The clouds won't stop
My umbrella hangs by the door
The sky's a hue
The darkest of blue
Now I swear
I felt this before
You scent the air
Are you still there?
When days are long
I sing a song
A tiny pom rolls around
A memory
A distant dream
You'll always be in my heart
It's safe inside
You don't have to hide
In the place we've made just in our style
The world we'd find
Let's lose track of time
So please
Won't you stay for a while?
You scent thе air
Are you still there?
Whеn days are long

    • @@mecahhannah There was also a comic that came out a few years where Superman and Batman go on a double date at a super hero themed fair with their respective significant others: Lois Lane and Selina Kyle (this was when she and Bruce Wayne were engaged). The fair had a policy that attendees wear costumes, so Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent switch costumes (to protect their secret identities) along with Lois Lane wearing the Catwoman suit and Selina Kyle wore whatever Lois came with. The episode gives the two the chance to do some friendly ribbing with brooding Bruce dressed as cheerful Superman and dorky Clark dressed as Batman (even having the glasses set on the cowl). They also mock that line from Man of Steel where "the S stands for Hope."

  • What really impresses me about the relationship between Batman and Superman in the DCAU and the DCAU in general is that none of this was planned out. The DCAU wasn't like the MCU, they didn't have the backing of WB to create a huge interconnected universe. They never knew if a show was going to get renewed for another season. If a DCAU show got a viewership drop or even if they had poor toy sales for a quarter, the show would be at risk of cancellation. But despite never knowing if their shows would get renewed, they were able to build theses relationships and plotlines through multiple shows. And they were able to connect ongoing stories with one off episodes that were never intended to be part of an arc.

  • There's this scene about their friendship, with one line that always gives me goosebumbs - it's from Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, so technically not really DCAU canon, but still it really fits with this: Batman decides to get into a rocket about to be launched to steer it towards a huge meteor headed for earth, in order to destroy that meteor by crashing the rocket into it. Batman does this because moments before, Luthor destroyed the machine that would serve as an auto-pilot/guidance system for the rocket, so the rocket can no longer reach the meteor on its own. Crashing into that meteor with said rocket would, of course, be fatal for Batman. Superman, already weakened at this point due to exposure to the kryptonite rays from Luthor's mech suit, fails to stop Batman from getting into cockpit, once again due to Luthor's interference and the last thing Superman hears is Batman telling him Good Bye. Superman manages to prevent Luthor from stoping the rocket's launch, but can only watch the rocket take off, with Batman on it, as it flies Batman to his certain death. After this, Superman stares down Luthor, cold-voiced tells him "That man is my best friend. And you just killed him!" and begins to lay the smack down on him, despite being weakened and exhausted.

Superman helped Bruce find his humanity again and Bruce never stopped believing in Superman(after his death) and believed more than the other league members that he could be brought back. Superman was given a second chance at life to be the hero Earth needed him to be and it was because of Bruce's faith in him. The last scene Clark and Bruce share together could have really been the start of a beautiful friendship. At the end of BvS, Batman comes back to light and understands Superman's true character, who can sacrifice his own life for humanity. And then in ZSJL, Batman was hell bent to bring back Superman. Man, so many great moments between them. @Implicitly Pretentious, my man, I believe you have heard of this movie already but just in case, Batman/Superman Public Enemies have a very similar if not more charming and brotherly love kind of relationship between Batman and Superman. They are more than that. They both want the same thing, to protect others with little to no regard of their own safety. It's just they have very different ways of executing their respective vision, both are very effective but ultimately different ideology leads to different means of achieving their shared vision/goal. Sure, that means they will be at odds with each other sometimes but when the chips are down, they will always have each other's backs. Superman for instance is heavily based on Silver Age & PreCrisis Superman, Batman is Bronze Age + PostKeaton Bats & Green Arrow is Bronze Age & Resurrected GA. This way they could use the most popular stories from the comics, in part or whole, while not getting the MCU's "they did this b/c the story demands it" type of writing. This let the characters stay consistent.

  • I truly hope that when the Snyderverse is completely undone they'll try to be more like the DCAU with Clark and Bruce. The animated shows got in right in that department. Both were just committed to doing the right thing and leading by example. Not like Snyder!Batman with slaughtering and trying to kill other heroes or a Superman who isn't compassionate and friendly toward people because he genuinely is that good and was raised by loving parents. Ironically the DCEU did do better with Wonder Woman and Aquaman though so I'll give them props there. The DCAU's Diana wasn't on her own adventures enough and they made her really critical of "Man's World" and stubborn where as Gadot's Diana is gentle and embraces a different culture with integrity and earnestness. And the DCAU Aquaman was just kind of shoved off to the side and they went with the "edgy" pissed off hook hand version rather than a more charismatic fun hero like the Momoa version was.

    @Nightman221k@Nightman221k Жыл бұрын
    • About Wonder Woman, while I agree they show her being a bit stubborn it actually works when consider that Diana was raised in society that reject the outside world and had cynical view on man. There are stories that explore this side of Diana and give her a good development, like the 2009 Animated movie, where Diana starts a bit sturbbon and having difficult relationship with Steve but in the end comes to see not just that Steve is good man but also how recognize that she (and also her mother and sister) were wrong in giving up on humanity, that they let their prejuice for men prevent from doing the right thing.

    • @Erik Kemeey Batman tried to kill Superman in BvS, it was literally his entire goal for the first 3/4ths of the film. He probably would've killed him if Lois Lane wasn't around to stop him. Having Batman more determined to kill another hero than a villain like the Joker (who in this universe killed a Robin) and is willing to kill henchmen indiscriminately is only the tip of the iceberg on misunderstanding the character. I'm a bit more forgiving with the Snyderverse take on Superman than I am with Batman, but they didn't nail his demeanor with how he was depicted as angsty. The way Christopher Reeve depicted him is an example of showing how down to earth and approachable he is; BUT I could see the Henry Cavil Superman being salvaged far more easily than I could the Affleck take on Batman just because he hadn't willingly done as many OOC things comparatively.

    • @@alexandrefrauches132 I can't even watch the 2009 movie anymore after how good the Gal Gadot version was. In the 2009 movie Steve's depicted like a chauvinistic buffoon and Diana constantly looks down on and browbeats EVERYONE she meets and seems like she doesn't have any culture shock over the way our world is advanced and different from hers. She gets here and immediately lectures a little girl for crying about being left out by the boys (like, this is the first human child she's ever encountered and the first thing she does is lecture and judge) She's incredibly rude and argumentative to Etta Candy, who they use only to depicted like "Those Other Girls" not like "Pick Me" Diana who doesn't approve of such horrible things like... a woman flirting with a guy she thinks is cute? 2009!Steve just spouted off objectifying things about Diana and tried to get her drunk to seduce her. Their romance came off as really smarmy with her being kind of prejudiced and him being unlikable (it felt like "if a male sexist and a female sexist dated it would be LOVE" rather than it would be a disaster). In the live action Patty Jenkins movie where Steve is a really good guy and a soldier who wants a normal life and Diana is hopeful and kind and enthusiastic to learn. And Steve respects her and their relationship is sweet and Diana isn't judgmental to anyone outside of being disturbed by chemical warfare on civilians. And on top of that the 2009 version of the Greek Gods is bizarre, why is Hades Male-humanoid-Ursula from the Little Mermaid? WTF? That being said I did really enjoy the Wonder Woman animated movie with Silver Swan and Medusa though that one was really good! It felt more in line with the good characterization of Diana and Steve and Diana being warm and kind toward the Silver Swan character was very endearing and Etta was fun. I liked the adventure feel to it and the mythology elements too.

This video is amazing i know a lot of kids don’t read comics nor was able to see the animated series and only saw batman and superman as 2 guys who hate each other and their moms have the same name (thanks zach) but this is who they are brothers that despite being polar opposites whenever they together they both make each other shine brighter

  • The part of "outlive us all Bruce" Is always a great catch, because even though many heroes can live for long time Batman itself is in way immortal, it doenst matter how many times you kill it, somehow some lonely kid will loose their loved ones and followed the pre settled Footstaps of batman

  • I think you really hit at the core of why the big three (Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man) resonate so much with people. At the end of the day they are just people trying to help others. There’s no further themes packed on their image like industrialism (Iron Man), patriotism (Captain America), feminism (Wonder Woman) or discrimination (The X-Men). At the end of the day these three are people who looked at all the pain in their own lives and decided that they needed to use their power responsibly and care for the little guy, wether it be saving the world or spending time to talk to a kid and make sure he’s alright.

    • You could say that one of the further themes of Superman is immigration.

    • @@JdeMolay Superman maybe but Clark Kent is a citizen of US who was brought by good parents who taught him truth, justice and American way. In general Superman is a immigrant but Clark is US citizen.

    • @@JdeMolay While true it's not really all that essential to the character. Supergirl on the other hand definitely has that as a more inherent theme, but for Clark its far from essential and it can at times almost feel forced if not examined correctly.

    • @@SathishKumar-sk8fe That's from John Bryne's Post-Crisis Superman, where he drastically reenvisions Superman as being primarily human. Silver Age Superman was awash in Kryptonian technology. Silver Age Superman sent the message that Superman was awesome because Krypton and Kryptonians were amazing. Modern Age Superman sent the message that the best part of Superman was his human upbringing and compassionate heart. Silver Age Supes was sent to earth as a baby, Modern Age Supes was sent to earth as a fetus. He was born from the birthing matrix, making him American.

  • Exactly! Thank you! What the DC movies don't seem to understand is that, even if these characters live in the darkness as Batman does, the intention is to bring light to that darkness, not to be another source of the problem. Even as frightening as Batman intends himself to be to criminals, he's learned over the years that he's also a symbol of hope to those who obey the law. The creation of Robin in 1940 is more than likely the reason Batman has seen uninterrupted publication since his beginnings. Robin is the Yin to Batman's Yang and each learned from the other. For the same reason, the continuing team of Batman and Superman brought balance to those characters. Different methods for the same end result. Not vengeance, or Batman would have killed Joe Chill when he finally caught him. Not vengeance. Light.

    • The movies were getting there. You DCEU haters just wanted insta-gratification. You forgot that it also took time for the DCAU to interconnect and build relationships with its characters.

    • @@zerofudou5689 In truth, I'm not a DCU hater. I'm a DCU hopeful. I've loved these characters since I was a little kid and watching the original DC cartoons every Saturday morning, in the Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure. I wish the movies had taken the time to flesh out each character with his/her own movie, but done properly and with respect to who the character is. Take the total illogic of Batman v Superman. The movie establishes Batman as having fought crime for at least 20 years. In all that time, he had to have learned to keep his emotions in check. Ask anyone who fights for a living - the moment you allow your emotions to control your actions, you've lost. Yet, Batman not only succumbs to this grave mistake, he allows it to continue for months while he plots the murder of Superman. How does anyone maintain a blind rage for months? Not only does he not use his superior intellect to deduce what Superman is really all about, he plans to commit the very crime that stole his parents and his childhood away from him. Batman is supposed to be the world's greatest detective, and still he fails to rise above petty human foibles in a bid to commit the ultimate crime of pre-meditated murder. Then, when he's about to finalise his bizarre mission, he is snapped out of his rage when Superman utters the name of his mother, the same name shared by Batman's mother. This is simply appallingly bad writing. I can find massive writing errors like this almost every DC movie. I wish that I couldn't. Far too many of their stories simply don't make any sense. As for the DCAU, it was so amazing well done. I agree with you that time was taken to build the characters and it shows in the end products. B:TAS was great fun and so refreshing to see him, and the related 'family' given the respect they deserved. The voice casting and acting was superb. I can think of no one who has understood The Joker as well as Mark Hamill did. But Hamill was an avid comic book reader and he understood the character he was portraying. The animated Superman and Justice League/JL Unlimited series' were also incredible. But watch how the various characters are treated. The movies have completely ignored what was done and rewritten decades of character development. Part of the problem for that has been the drive to make everything dark in the movies. Everybody's angry. What are their motivations to be heroes? I honestly wish the DC movies had taken the time to build their movie universe, but also to have acknowledged what made these characters popular in the first place. They're supposed to be icons we can look up to - heroes to give us inspiration to make our own world a better place. They did none of that. I love the DC characters, ever since I was little. I love the DCAU. I want to love the movie universe, too. I want them build and development into a cohesive unit. I still wait for them to give me something to love. I'm hopeful that they will. Unfortunately, without a major overhaul of direction, I expect to remain terribly disappointed. I look forward to a DC movie universe that both you and I can be truly thrilled at.

  • for me it was the moments in comics where you see them talk about the other with their partner. Lois and Clark go up an elevator next to bruce and selina. They talk about what it is they envy out of the other and what they admire ( only for them to meet out the elevator and wonder why they took the elevator ) Also, and to not put any batman fans down as i think it says something more admirable about batman... i cant cite the comic but there was a point where Batman says " Deep down, Clark is a good person. I am not " and the fact that you dont need a page having superman say that batman is just as good as him. Im a die hard superman fan and its been so annoying having fans fight over who is better rather than just appreciating the fact that they are bros at heart
