What I've watched so far it's good
Fantastic video. Have you played Avorion? What do you think of it? Minecraft X?
@@theexile4694 I've not actually played Avorion, for now it's just sitting in my Steam library.
Man, nice video! But you didn't even started to play X4. You'll be able to TERAFORM PLANETS!

There's so much more peace, freedom and justice I could bring... work never ends :D
I just got the game and I was told get the Terran DLC play as the cadet and holy shit that’s exactly what I said when I had to escort the trade ship to its destination! What a way to start this game! Of course I died like 6 times before I realized ok me flying solo ain’t working 😂
@@jordanazevedo5688 Oh yes, an entire fleet of katanas can get pretty powerful. My FPS didn't much like it, though.
@@KokoplaysMB will you continue this play with another similar video? This was quite enjoyable.
Hahaha 🤣
Much appreciated, thank you 🥰 /greg
It was a blast as always!
Small question? How about having multiple brands/manufacturers of ships? It kind of bothers me that a whole race with possibly billions of people only has a single "brand" of ships
So cool to see the actual DEVS leave a comment!
@@sebastiankutter3630Each species has two subfactions, each with different loadouts. Terran humans and Argon humans each have totally different techbases too.
@JoshSweetvale terrans and argons are considered as different races in the encyclopedia. You probably meant to say something like the Segaris Pioneers and Terran protectorate having different fighters
Audio volume warning at 42:39-42:47 - there's one clip there where the audio gets super loud all of a sudden. Otherwise great vid I love the x series and this is making me want to go back and watch the original series from 3 years ago again!
Yeah sorry about that..

What the economy does to a MF'er.
WHAT?
i wouldnt use X4 to satisfy a satisfaction for starfield . X4 easily surpasses it in everything related to space
You're not wrong there
X4 really is a game you can play forever, great video. I've played X4 a lot but always seem to get distracted around mid game so it was great to see you push on and build a massive empire.
There's a lot of distractions in the game, but that's also kinda the beauty of it, you can do whatever you want to do.
They're pretty good at evergreen games. I just started another X3 Albion Prelude run
I have the same issue. But to be honest, in this game the distractions are soo well placed and enjoyable, that I don't even mind. Rome wasn't built in one day :D
Bought this yesterday and just did the tutorial levels. While looking up some tips for getting started on X4. I stumbled on this video. Clicked on it just to get a sneak peek of what more I'll be experiencing, and ended up accidentally watched the whole thing. Amazing video thumbs up :)
Thank you for the accidental watch time, I appreciate it! Hope I got you excited for all the awesome things that await you in X4.
Take your time to learn it, it's a very complex game. Don't think you will have 10 stations at hour 49 like this guy, he's clearly a veteran who knew it all before starting this gameplay.
"YOU'RE A PIRATE !!! ' "Yes... but I'm a friendly and peace loving pirate... "
The best thing about this game is that you can dogfight as much as you would like, only owning your ship and the spoils of your dangerous practice, or control the intricacies of a vast empire.
So true!
Very well done! As a new player, it was awesome to see how another player progresses, make money, and build. Definitely picked up a few tips too. Would love to see more!!
Thanks! I haven't played X4 in years before doing this, so I doubt my way of progression is optimal - but that's the beauty of X4 - everyone can carve their own path in their own way and have a lot of fun doing it.
@@KokoplaysMBYou did more in your first 8 hours than I did in my first 40 hours of my first ever time playing this game.Though alot of time was spent looking up stuff lol.
@@lilkhmer5 after I got into it, I started remembering how things work and then it went pretty fast.
The Ka'ark could have looked at the space high-way construction plans at any time during the past 5 standard years, and filed an objection with the Boron traffic administration. Their case doesn't have a leg to stand on. Bring in the building cranes!
I love X4. There's so many ways to play. I hate the quests, so I mostly trade, mine and build. But things never go the same way twice.
Freedom is what I love the most
Probably the best X4 video I've ever seen, it's a great vertical slice of everything this game offers
Thanks, it was a joy to play!
i feel this game is overlooked a lot. i know i did because of the name, and the look of the map. looked like turn based game... not bad but i had my fill of those and wanted free roam. finally seen a non edited playtrhough of the game seen it was actually everything i wanted in game. after playing it i learned it was even more then i thought. so few things u cant do in this game. it truly is amazing in most aspects. imo the only thing i hated were the missions. so clunky and hard to figure out what exactly they wanted me to do and or where to go. real pain in the butt to do. hated the missions........ luckily u dont have to do many to unlock most of the game. but yea.
Tip for Argon rep, set up miners in the massive asteriod sector next to argon prime, (usually to thr top left) , And set their mine and sell to that sector only. This means your miners mine, and sell ores to argon, which means you trade, and it means passive rep and money. I always use this trick. It wont get you all the way there but it can make the early grind quick
I did that for every faction, but since I wanted argon rep ASAP I flew around shooting criminals and doing missions.
@@KokoplaysMB fair enough! . Fun video. You should do more!
The most captivating story about a play-through in history! You put a lot of hard work into this project and it succeeded! Bravo!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Brilliant Video which showcases most of the features of X4. Everyone who likes Space Sims, should definitely give X4 a try... its a Fun and EPIC experience that no other space game can offer.
So true, X4 is such an amazing game!
If you get past learning to play X4 it is amazing.
So true
In my current playthrough the Xenon have been super aggressive. My first trip through Argon Prime found a pair of K Destroyers sweeping through the system with no resistance, the Argon had to completely rebuild their wharf and shipyard, still really sparse there. There is near constant fighting in Hatikvahs Choice, the Xenon are regularly attempting to build stations there. My mining and trade ships are all in Boron, Segaris, and Antigone Republic space. Only recently built up enough cash to start buying Destroyers. I had to kill a K that came into Heretic's End from Wretched Skies, in my at the time lone Boron Ray.
In a recent Run i learned that Boron defense stations are amazing to fend off the Xenon in lynchpin sectors. 11 Defense modules with the large pule net launchers and medium pulse guns kill pretty much anything (although i have not seen a Xenon I in that run). I build them in Hatikvahs choice, the Void and was working on the split that just get pummeled in every run i do, poor sods. Interesing tidbit: once the Void and Hatikvah were secure the Argon really ramped up and started being agressive towards everyone :D
AI often needs help against Xenon, they can be quite bad at dealing with them
Main problem is AI fleets are naturally small and they typically fly off their territories to patrol sectors they don't really need to. Xenon forcibly have larger fleets as they have to distribute their forces from 4-5 points against all factions. Against the combined power of all factions, Xenon are weaker. If Xenon actually focus a large force at one sector one faction at a time, like Hatikvah's Choice, they can win the sector. Argon, by itself can't hold Hatikvah's Choice or Morning Star, it's fleet size is small and they are always spread out and can fail to respond to an all out Xenon attack, as in, they won't pull their fleets back to stop them, instead they continue to let their fleets wander aimlessly while they get trampled. This forces player intervention. It's better to build ships instead of buying, you can start easy cashflow from a hull parts factory, cheap and easy and low maintenance. One of the Argon missions teaches you this.
Me after 100 hours. Have 3-4 ships. Totally bankrupt 😂
The good part about X4 is you can play it anyway you want. You don't need to build a giant industry and challenge the Xenon if you don't want to, the game can be a lot of fun just flying around with one ship as well.
It's normal for a first run. And before watching the video, I really thought it will be a mess, I didn't know Koko at all. But he seems to really know how to play and how growing his empire. And it's a good thing for him, because longer you let the Xenon do what they want and stronger they will be. I really put my empire on a other level when I realize the Xenon snowball everything lol. At first I was like, bah it's just the split I don't care. My goal was to destroy the Terran and be THE terran ;). But my plan change because if the Xenon destroy the split, they will be a lot stronger and just snowball the rest of the galaxy. So I spend billions to stop them and take back all the sectors. Most of them are now under my protection.
I love X4. Just started playing and I can see myself playing this game for a super long time. So much you can do, just loving it.
Glad you enjoy it!
I've probably watched this 4 times by now, very interesting to see how someone else plays. Here's to a part 2!
4 times? Now that is a high praise for my work, thank you!
Well put together video! Fascinating, what can happen, when a little bit more focus is at play :D
This was really fun to watch. Thanks :D If I could make one suggestion, having some cinematic shots from the big battles would be really cool to see.
I've been playing Starfield for the last few weeks. But all it's been doing is rekindling my desire to play X4 again. Which I've not played since early 2022. _My bad!_ Starfield's OK. _But it's no X4!_ _Name me another space game where you can;_ 1 - Go into 3rd person mode. 2 - Ask your "M" class ship to dock on your "XL" ship. 3 - Meanwhile, you're in your "S" class ship and telling your pilot of that "S" class ship, to dock on the "M" class ship that's going to dock on the "XL" ship. 4 - So with orders placed, I'll sit back and watch the action unfold 8-))... It's my _"thing"_ I do in X4. It's good fun to do. Watching your "S" class land on the "M" class then, while still on the "S" class, that's now on the "M" class, watching that "M" class land on the "XL" class. Everyone should try to do it. At least once while playing X4 ;-))...
No game is X4
The majestic fish people, their ships in this color makes them less graceful, but still prettier than most ships feom other factions
They're indeed lovely
Hi, I love X4, just FYI the mods for this game are amazing, Star wars interworlds 0.7 is about to release soon! Its another 100 - 200 hours, its so good!
Thanks for the recommendation!
@@KokoplaysMB the star wars mod even has trains in some spacestations that you can ride
As a space sim, this game is far better than Starfield. Starfield is very much a space adventure game not really a space sim.
As a space sim X4 definitely wins. It seems Starfield is more focused on planet exploration and I'm having a lot of fun with that, so big thumbs up there.
Star Citizen is just as buggy, with far fewer systems (cartographically, gameplay-wise it's about even) and the only upside being multiplayer.
how do you even simulate space
10 months late I found this video and now im going to get X4. Thank you sir! Hope you decide to return and make another video someday

So, what I'm getting from this video, is that this game is a majestic combination of Elite Dangerous and Stellaris? Seems like a must play for me, get to bust out my HOTAS again! Thanks for the video! I've been on the fence for this game for a bit.
It's a really good game, definitely worth it.
Wow! What an intensely excellent looking game. Enjoyed your playthrough very much. Thank you 🪐

This game looks pretty cool to be honest
It's amazing actually
More!!! Do a pirate play through trying tio make the most money in 100 hours. Setup Drug labs and build smugglers while you steal everything from near by neutral zones. A pirate that doesn't get caught.
Master at bating... HAHA, NICE! ALSO, at 50:40 the NPC Terran Asgard and your Carrier make for the typical "Husband-and-Wife" formation of my own lore, featuring 2 distinct capital ships in synergy: a mothership (yours) and a fathership (theirs).
As someone with about 500 hours in X4 (and another 1500-ish in the older titles), it's always great to see more people get sucked in. It's one of the only franchises where you start with practically nothing, but by the end you can have a fully self-sufficient empire, with multiple giant shipyards churning out battleships for your war with the game's major factions. For anyone willing to forgive the game's flaws and find their own blend of fun within its sandbox, there's almost no other experience like it.
So true
man I love to watching games like X4, you did a gr8 video thank you :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
I have 3000 hours in X4 divided in 4 playtroughs.
Fantastic. I feel that I should love this game, but can't get thru an X4 video to save my life. Then I saw this. Thank you for this content!.
Glad you enjoyed it!
For your wharf where constant fighting was taking place a recycling station close by could be a nice idea. And if you dont use Terran Equipment you can use the closed loop economy, for which recycling can deliver all (basic) resources.
That is a great idea actually!
That what I did in my last play. All waring factions were buying ships at my shipyard and once they undocked they figured till death and my recycling station was laaways full of scrap 😅
Man I have something like 3k hours in x3 Albion Prelude. Fell off on the series with rebirth as it continues to be a hot mess. Glad to see that 4 actually cleaned itself up :)
X4 is very good

My job here is done!
Its so good! Im just past 100hrs too and it just keeps getting better.
Yes it does!
This was an outstanding concise and thrilling summary of a hundred hours playtime. It's been a while since I was this captivated by a letsplay. Is there a reason you built separate factories instead of one big complex supplying the wharf?
I personally prefer building stations that focus on one (maybe two) main products at the same time. And building multiple stations is more fun than one huge behemoth.
It actually helps trade routing instead of a huge megastation. Imagine shopping at the grocery store, but you only pick up 1 item at a time, instead of multiple items at once, that's the basic of X trading. That clogs the traders at docks especially the L class, M/S are not cost effective and helpless against attackers. Also the station designer can be overloaded by too many modules, this is why mods exist to help by increasing production yields, same with cargo capacity. Trade stations are a bit different, you make this if you want a centralized depot to trade out of, and not actually make it closed loop, but you can if your PC and station designer can handle it, as well as making adequate L docks. This is also the same for Shipyards, you shouldn't make it closed loop, but you can. On top of the listed problems, they also can't truly sustain themselves because sometimes they won't trade in or trade out supplies, requiring upstream factories.
Holy crap that's a great video! How long did it take to edit?? I also always have my own ideas of "peace and freedom" throughout the galaxy. ^^ Also hearing someone mention Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" is rare nowadays. I can't play X4 at the moment though ... there's so much else to do. Tons of hardware reviews.
I've been editing throughout the whole month as I recorded, so no idea how many hours that took. But it was quite a number for sure.
Nice work, fella. I loved your 1 rule notification by the way 😂
You'd be surprised how many people fail it.
@@KokoplaysMB🤣🧐
Making 1 year since i´ve bought this and found funny how the best role is universe protector if you want to avoid an non realistic full universe control and keep all factions alive and the market running you just have to settle defense stations and Capitol Ships in every Xenon point of access to Civilized Races, this was you can avoid looking to the map a seeing random faction structures being destroyed, on my first play Xenon annihilated Argon Federation while i was taking care of my life 😅 You can use this as a starting business because you´ll have a lot of part ships being dropped plus items with high value that you can sell i remember that my first 10,000,000,000 where made essentially on this
I played 560 hours of X4 and got extremely bored with it. Now I'm trying Astrox. I use to love Eve Online but ever since they allowed cheaters in there that destroyed me in 3 seconds, and they don't ban the cheater nor any of the other cheaters because all they want is money from subscriptions, I stopped playing. I want a huge corporation to take over the cccp and put it back to the way it was. Edit: Got bored with Astrox and now I'm trying Spacebourne 2.
Thank you, amazing round up. Really funny too.
Glad you enjoyed it!
"If you're looking forward to Starfield" And now that's come and gone, X4 is still going just as strong.

Not sure if you can edit after posting, but might wanna put up a warning of some sorts! ;D None the less, I am LOVING this video so far! Keep it up:))
Yes that was a bit unfortunate and no idea why it happened.
that's life at 23:46 , there really is nothing more than being an errand boy. it's a pretty accurate sim.
True dat
Set your wharf prices to 150%; everyone still buys your ships and you make a fat profit. As for your own M ships, I recommend using the Split Boa. It has a small cargo capacity, but it's by far the fastest trade ship, meaning higher throughput and the ability to escape from pirates. The best M miners are, again, Split; the Alligators go so ridiculously fast that you'll rarely if ever lose any of them. The only drawback with Split is that the game seems to not have a good queue system for multiple ships wanting the same dock, so you'll need that 8m docking port at your factories, possibly more with a megafactory.
Split are easily my favorite faction
That brief loud cut in around 41ish just gave me a fucking heart attack.
Loved this do more of this please!
Thanks!
I am actually blown the heck away that you didn't have any issues with the AI on your trade ships going bananas trying to figure out what you want them to do. And also the station managers having issues fulfilling your requests.
There were some minor issues but nothing too bad.
I just bought x4 i loved x3 but i prefer to play with a hotas set up but mine broke so im saving for an upgrade im so excited to play
O so i bought this game, thanks to you and other few videos. O boy what a great game, i sux at making economy, coz i do nothing, just flying around and watching. I managed to liberate Asgard ftom Terans, it was flying around with 80 crew, so i set werry hard board acttion and after like an hour it was mine.
That is very impressive!
150 hours in on my recent play through and I'm wrestling a ex-split system off the xenon for over half of the play through. Got the basic recycling & construction parts station up and running and the next station going up will be the turret components station so I can kick back a little rather than having to micro my fleets or watch the map all the time. Shield station is next on the list so I can build real gate defence stations that can kill xenon Is and for me to finally relax. Still going to be a while before I can let the game run itself and for me to relax enough to go playing the missions.
I feel like if you're not actively helping out the AI against Xenon, they'll have a hard time surviving, but once you manage to contain their spread (this is where all those laser turrets worked surprisingly well for me), the AI's economy will boom and you'll be able to start to relax.
more people need to know about this game
So true

I did the same thing. 100+ hours and did nothing but sit there in the back of my ship and looked at a map the whole time.
I enjoyed watching you masterfully baiting that eye. It gave me so much pleasure.
It gives me pleasure knowing you felt pleasure watching me masterfully baiting.
I've been sat on the fence about this game for some time now, but watching this video (1 of the most enjoyable I've watched recently, by the way!), I feel myself beginning to slide off the fence, so to speak. Especially as I checked it out on Steam where it's currently 60% off, along with a stack of DLC.
Be very careful when you slide off the fence, you wouldn't want to get hurt in places that might.. well hurt. (thanks, game is really great and it being on sale is a big +)
because of u i started to play this game and im addicted AF
My job here is done!
A valuable tip for Defense Stations: build them in Closed Loop, this requires that you use Argon modules only, but reduces the material to Hullparts, Energy Cells and Claytronics. Now given the rarity of Claytronics, it´s still easier to get than the excessively rare Turret Components (unless you build them yourself...). However i have by now build several minimalistic Defense Stations that allow me to keep Xenon Incursions in check thanks to Closed Loop. Only Terran Construction is this efficient and simple! But much more expensive.
Good advice, thanks!
@@KokoplaysMB Glad i could give valuable input!

"Humans right? Why do they even need water?? They don't even live in it."

I used the mod that gives you directions when you're scanning stations for leaks. I also had the auto-explore mod, but I didn't actually use it because it's quite inefficient.
@@KokoplaysMB cool thanks!
X4 is definitely one of those games that deserves much more attention than its got now
I agree
Really good video, I'm curious to know how much your empire worth after 100 hours. And at the end, you said you like your destroyer spread in circle. Men, you need to try a Split Raptor, you put 121 fighters in it, and set it to 'bomber'. They gonna go out and attack any X,XL ships under 30 km. Do that, Vs a Xenon K or I, the 121 fighters do a really really big circle arround the ennemy ship and just charge it, it's beautiful ;P
I love a raptor, it feels so good watching your swarm!
GREAT video :)
Thanks!
God i wish i had the time to learn how to play this game
100 hours, rookie numbers. awesome vid dude.
I'm so sorry, I promise I can do more!
By hour 100, my game slowed to a crawl, as the "simulation" became so complex that my high-end PC struggled to give me higher than 5 fps, particularly when the map is open and seta is active. That's what kills this game, and there really is no solution to it.
I played couple hundred of hours on a shit PC in the past and never had such issues, while the game can get a bit laggy in very crowded sectors (like my home one), you really shouldn't be dropping to 5 fps with high-end PC.
What's your definition of a high-end PC?
That is nirmal in Seta mode only
@@faiz697 what s seta?
42:39 woke me up... This came on while I was asleep i guess and i play my youtube through my monitor to help me sleep. well this came on with autoplay and i woke up randomly but by the time i was awake it was normal again so I went back in the video and found out why i woke up lol
This looks superb fun. Loved the x franchise from when I first played x2. Kinda upset that after XR VR that x4 wasnt seen as finaancially viable to have some form of vr support. Space sims are insanely good in vr. Judt suprised theres not a supply and demand for this sort of thing. Sad if the numbers don't support doing ut yet. Maybe psvr2 and future next quest release might influence things differnet economically. As having played xr vr, elite dangerous and NMS I can say theres definitely the potential for an epic X VR game I get you want a market to put I out to though. Hopefully one day they'll be a rando mod for for a vr x4 it maybe, suprised theres not! Also XR vr wasn't exactly the normal X experience, I wonder with another dip into the area with x4, it would have a differnet repection now? Extremely tempted to play on a flat screen, and always tempted to reinstall xr vr but I don't think it's supported anymore. Was there a modding scene for xr vr at all?
28:10 Is there a way to make scouts auto-map new sectors? I see they have an Explore command but that just makes them fly in a circle. Earlier in the video I saw you queueing waypoints for a scout; did you just do it manually the whole time?
Yeah I did it manually the whole time because that way they explored the sector much faster and later in Xenon sectors it was easier to make them avoid certain death. Auto exploring usually leads to a lot of wasted time and also death.
