1:37 There's a thread/hair on the Sakura switch and I cannot unsee it. I now bestow this burden onto you. Enjoy.
I do not see it... you are lying!!!
@@powernemo look harder
Omg i thought that was a crack 😂
I like that test you did with all three caps next to each other. I like the lube & filmed sound.
Me too that was my favorite mod for it! It's just next to impossible to pull off with our risking your sanity
@@jdtechgear For Sure
this helped a lot. thanks
Have u tried the sakura? If u have can u tell me if rosary is a noticeable difference from sakura? Im debating between the 2 switches and I've seen from videos that sakura seems a bit too light and quick. I was wonderin how stiffer are the rosary.
How did you manage to lube them? Did you follow the same process as mx switches?
Dude thank god for your video. I just ordered the shurikey SAIZO 75 003 with Sakura switches not realizing I could get a heavier switch, so I just cancelled my order and resubmitted one for the same board with the rose switch. GOOD LOOKING OUT MAN lol thank you so much. Shurikey 75% 35$
The lubed actually sounds worse imo but I think that is because once you open up a switch you loosen the clips on the housing so you basically MUST film them once you open then up for lubing.
I have the that Varmilo Summit keyboard, It is truly beautiful.
Did u get the rose switches also? If so, do u recommend it?
@@JasonLee-nf6fu I got the silence MX cherry reds. They are good.
Ive been lookin for a summit with the ECs... damn impossible to find with my regional setup..
One big thing to note is that the V2 versions are slightly factory lubed as well!
What type of keycaps work for these ec switches? Will cherry mx caps work?
did you overlube the switch? It sounds overlubed is that it or does it just sound like that
Where can i find keycaps / what keycaps are compatible with these switches ?
are these similar to the mx speed silvers or would daisy be more similar to silvers? i'm very lighthanded.
What is the name of the upper keyboard at 2:23 timestamp please?
Hi, I've tested sakura switches myself and found it way lighter than I thought compare to mx reds, but I didn't get a chance to type in rose ones. It seems like the V2 switches are very smooth so the question is, can I assume rose switches might "feel" alike to mx reds, which is my personal to-go. A reply would be much appriciated, thanks!
I'm pretty sure Sakuras are supposed to be close to reds
At around 5:33 in this video the Sakura and rose switches are compared to Cherry MX Reds kzhead.info/sun/p7ymn5txanSDnXA/bejne.html Hope this helps :)
I have the sakura ec v2 switches in a varmillo keyboard and mine don't sound as high pitched as yours do. They are still higher pitched, but not as clacky as in your sound test. Not sure if they changed key build at some point since I got mine after your video came out or if the sakuras just sound different. Still think they could be a bit better but not as bad as in your sound test.
He has roses, not sakuras
I got the Ivy switch and damn thats the best switch I've ever used and I've had 20+ keyboards
Is the Ivy switch only tactile, or is it also clicky like an MX Blue?
@@CosmicApe clicky and tactile
those are on the red dragon keyboard
Guys do u know where I can buy switches separately from the keyboard
Does lubing them effect their actuation process since it relies on the EC technology?
That's a great question! So far not that I know of. I quick lubed the entire board and still using it without any issue. I'll update if anything happens if there's longevity issues.
If Im not mistaken the Sakuras come lightly Lubed from fabric :)
@@ThunderflySc2 Fabric means tissue in English, does not equal factory. I've had this confusion too.
@@IgoArs oh thanks ! :)
Would you recommend Sakura or Rose for someone who likes the weighting of MX Blues?
i think ivy switches are more like mx blues
So which one should somebody go with because I was wondering aswell? (Rose vs Sakura)
Hey I had a question. Do I have to lube the switches different from mechanical keyboards or do I do the same?
They are box switches so use a box switch lubing pattern if the stem isn’t box on the inside then its a standard mx lubing style
yo can you confirm something ? are keycaps switchable for these keyboards ?
Yes can confirm
Yes you can use any cherry style keycaps
@@roccatsenseful what about dsa profile ?
@@qtr2962 yes dsa profile use cherry style
How loud would you say these switches are? also compared to other switches
compared to cherry mx reds, quiet.
Why does your keyboard have Russian layout?
you dont know how devastated i was to find that they're not compatible to cherry keyboards they're one of the smoothest I've tried in a store and left me asking for more.
Hmm i dont know should i get ec swicthes or silent reds
Same
Ec switches 100% i tried a varmilo bord with silent reds and they felt terrible imho
Where can I buy the switches themselves?
U cant
@@lol360noscope6 Actually can. Quick google search and you will find them
I'm using a niz keyboard with these switches, the best by far keyboard to type on. so smooth, I just love it, I'll never go back to that cherry crap switches. they are junk.
I thought they were factory lubed, but i cant reaaally find info on this?!
Yes
can i change my regular keyboard switches?
He mentioned the switches have a proprietary design for their pins so they can only fit the pcbs from the same brand.
If your board is hotswapable then yes, otherwise your switches are soldered in, unless you know how to desolder.
What keycaps are those..... I need
Stock keycaps that come with it, I wish varmillo would sell some of their keysets, they're top notch
Cherry mx red or EC sakura? Someone can guess how many EC switches will suffice?
Struggling to decided in which
i would take sakuras, they're higher quality. cherry mx reds are known to be scratchier than the sakuras
Actually the 65% boards have USB C. So hopefully they’re upgrade their 80% soon.
Yeah I have one of them! But it's in collaboration with Ducky. I just hope to see it make it's way the other boards
@@jdtechgear me too. Got my custom last week. Love it. But before I buy a 80% usb c is a must
This sound similar to my keyboard
Which linear switches do you recommend? I've heard that mx red is infamous among the custom keyboard community for being horrible and way too popular.
One of my favorites is Gateron Ink Black or Yellow, but they're expensive switches. Other good alternatives lubed Cream switches, lubed Gateron Black or CherryMX Black.
Lubed cherry mx blacks are one of the best in my opinion, if you want a Clicky I recommend outemu phoenix switches, a silent switch I recommended boba u4's, and for tactile I recommend t1's or boba u4's again
And yes mx red's are overated everyone can agree they are too light, even people who like lighter switches agree it's too light
@@YellowNotThe I find mx blacks to sound quite nice but they are pretty heavy switches compared to my old mx speeds. Which ''budget'' light silent linear switches do you recommend? Also which keyboards do you recommend under 120 bucks?
@@axeldeeker5644 what is your budget for switches? And a good tkl hotswap board I like is Archon AK87, for a 60% hotswap gk61, for 65% hotswap kbd67 lite
why can't they just sell lubed keyboards?? I want one but I don't wanna do it on my own
I thought Varmilos came pre-lubed. Every youtuber seems to recommend it as the best stock keyboard. I ordered one but its not here yet so idk whether or not that's true.
@@bigcypress5325 No i've had two of their keyboards and they do not come lubed. Thats something you have to do on your own. Their stock switches sound exactly like any other keyboard with the same switch, the only difference is the overall quality for Vamilo seem to be higher.
@@onichan9346 Im pretty sure their ec v2 switches come lightly lubed from the factory, the stabs are lubed as with all other Varmilo boards.
@@roccatsenseful Nothing that comes bought sounds like a custom lubed keyboard.
You expect companies to put effort for something barely anyone cares about?
What’s the name of the keyboard
Varmilo
wow
Travel distance?
4mm and actuation 2mm I think
Are you sure you didn't mix things up here? AFAIK those ECv2 switches are your "ordinary" mechanical switches and NIZ is actually making electrocapacitive switches.
Yeah they are EC switches. They look ordinary but do not function the same. EC switches don't need to have a rubber dome to be an EC switch, they both operate the same.
Nice video! Why do u have Russian legends on your keycaps? So, hello from Russia! ЙЦУКЕ
you forgot Н - ЙЦУКЕН, hello from Rostov :)

*varmilo with russian keys ^)*
Yes
I just bought a logitech keyboard.thank you
Not sure why, but I don’t understand switch lubing. It seems a bit silly.
Снг чел походу
А ведь чел то русский)Больших удач тебе брошка)

Russian keycaps )
Electro-static fields are susceptible to interference, no thank you.
Why russian letters? Lol.
The sound of these "ec" switches is way too high pitched. EC type written in a switch description should instantly bring ideas such as: "silence", "puff", "cloud".
Waiting for EC V3 - silent version of V2 :)
if you need lube for a switch, the switch is shit
Completely untrue. There isn't a need for the lube, it's a want by default. The lube is only for audible adjustment.
Жаль человека, у него русская раскладка ;(
