United fan here. I absolutely hated the Chelsea side back then when Terry, Cole, Drogba and them were still playing. United vs Chelsea used to be one of the best matches in the season, in terms of talent and excitement. Miss them years. We both had proper team competing for title every year.
You know what I hated? Seeing United won 3 titles in a row after what I thought would be Chelsea's era to dominate the league.
@@bgtcsjm i really thought united were done for.. especially when chelsea was on the ascendancy.. but nope... they came and snatched three in a row.. lol.. death throws?
Hope this rivalry will happen again in the future. Imagine Tammy, Mount, Reece James, Billy and Tomori vs Rashford, Greenwood, Dan James, Wan Bissaka and Brandon Williams in the next 5 years...
😂😂😂
Shame Mourinho left, he would've made Chelsea untouchable, however it must be said that Avram was the man who got the Blues to the CL Final. Scolari's appointment was a disappointment. Ancelotti only turned out to be a short-term solution. Villas-Boas was a disaster. RDM cleaned up but couldn't do it all again the next season making him another short-termer. And how many times did Hiddink had to steady the ship? No wonder Fergie was laughing 😂
A team of legends. Terry, Drogba, Ballack, Makelele, Cech, Cole, Essien, etc... Absolute legends
lampard
Total legends
Lampard, Robben, Gudjohnson, Malouda, eish man
But still couldn't win the league..always behind united
@@DilipKumar-ou6pg apart the five times they did win the Premier League, slapping them in the 05/06 and 09/10 title races 🤣
Ballack... A natural leader. In a team with a terry and a lampard and a drogba and a cech, a carvalho and an essien he was up there in the chain of command.
@John Smith a bunch of silverbacks

@John Smith cannot agree with you more. Hoping to see these chelsea young cubs grow to become alphas. We already have some like azpli.
Got interested in football because of Ballack, such a creative player on the field
Ballack,lampard,terry!
Ballack was my first favorite football player. He's one of the reason that I become Chelsea Fan until now. Love from Indonesia 💙
My very first Chelsea shirt was #13 BALLACK 2007-08 neon yellow away kit. I still have it along with my other chelsea kits.
same case, but Lampard for me. cheers~
Hana Natasha Kartika Same here, and I’ve been a Chelsea fan since 2006
Exactly same. Became a Chelsea fan bcoz of Ballack💙
@@gangstyled6384 me too. After the world cup 2006. I like Ballack in Germany national team then tried to find out about his club, turned out he just joined Chelsea at that time.
Ballack has to be one of the best free signings in premier League history, loved him in blue 💙
Indeed 👍
Good in the air, good technique... Couldn’t complete a 5 yard pass most games though. Am i the only Chelsea fan who got frustrated watching him?
LosPoderes7 yes
@@LosPoderes7 he would do everything but a 5 yard pass lol
@@Surveillance11 but always covered at the end of every game the most distance on the pitch, dont sound lazy 🤷🏼♀️
The hugs from Ballack and Drogba at the final whistle proves the fight for the free kick was just for the team to win but nothing personal.
exactly! I loved both players, Drogba and Ballack.
Drogba took the free kick and gave penalty to ballack.
@@arca9646 Cause he knew it. Ballack had probably one of the most powerful shots at the time. The way how the wall was placed at the freekick could have been an easy-going job for Ballack. One of the best players during the past 20 years of german football. It's a shame how he got threaded by Löw and Lahm in the end.
@@patrickroloff2731 absolutely he is underrated in germany
I would add a useless victory ahahah
World cup captains in the spine of our team: Terry, Lamps, Carvalho, Essien, Ballack, Drogba. That is a strong and stable backbone
Only 2 of those players captained teams at a World Cup
Shevchenko
and now we have mason mount great
Eddie Jones wtf do you have against mount
Dont forget, Shevchenko 🙄
This match was typical example of why drogba was more than just goals
He is up there with van nistelrooy and henry , shearer , not the best finisher out of the 4 but damn he was good
Daryl Ayertey overrated
@@JamesJones-od2ns So is your mum
@@JamesJones-od2ns fool
James Jones well no...
This team essentially managed themselves that season. That’s how strong they were. Two cup finals and a title challenge. If only Mourinho and Robben stayed
Even if they stayed they wouldn't win anything. Manchester United were to strong for those 2 seasons. In the final United should of won the game comfortably but as usual Chelsea parked there bus and were out to kill Ronaldo. Carvahlio should of had a red card aswell in that final.
@@omaraz3161 I'm not sure Chelsea parked any bus in that CL final. The parking of buses began against Barcelona in 2011 Semi-final (in the two legs and in the final against Bayern, but Bayern played at home. Barcelona's 2nd leg game was the epic bus)
@@HusseinDoha what is the context of bayern playing at home?
@@HusseinDoha what are yous talking about? whats all this about buses?
@@omaraz3161 Nah I'm a United fan and the final was very balanced. If anything Chelsea came closer to winning before penalties, they hit the post twice. One of the most balanced finals I've ever seen, and I felt bad for Chelsea because they were deserving winners too, and aside from losing in the PL also got robbed in the CL semi against Barca the next year. The 08-09 final should've been a repeat of the 07/08 one.
Michael Ballack = Chelsea Legend
Danke!
He was real selfish
definetely
That was genuinely a team of leaders, as represented by 5 national team captains: 1. England - John Terry 2. Germany - Michael Ballack 3. Ivory Coast - Didier Drogba 4. Ghana - Michael Essien 5. Portugal - Vicardo Carvalho Not sure if i've missed anyone: Petr Czech, Ivanovic, Shevchenko? Sorry about the spelling of names.
Don't forget Abramovich, he bought them with his petrodollars.💸💲💸
Cech was made captain of Czech Rep after his stint at Chelsea!

@A smoking ChickenFish it really wasnt? chelsea sold their best player and were banned from signing playerd yet Chelseas 3rd? remember everyone thought the blues werent even gonna be qualifying for ucl
@A smoking ChickenFish Yeap! To see Man U win the Premier league and UCL combo was quite a hit to take
Michael Ballack so underrated.

2004-2010 i was additive because of Ballack and die hard fan of him and my all time favorite club Chelsea FC..now im not watching any football games how one player can impact
That’s weird since Ballack didnt get to Chelsea until summer of 2006
As a United fan, I miss the peak of the PL days between 2004 to 2011 (United vs Chelsea vs Arsenal vs Liverpool). These top 4 not only challenged in the league but also reached UCL semi-finals and UCL finals year after year. In that period, Sir Alex won 5 PL titles in 6 years and reached 3 UCL finals in 4 years.
Michael Ballack! 🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪 Ein wunderbarer Fußballer und extrem gutaussehender Deutscher Mann. 👍
Ballack is one of a few players who is a legend in two clubs
What an era that was, with some intense games! 2004-2010
Michael Ballack is one of my favourite Chelsea players of all time
Can’t get enough from these clips always putting smiles on my face. Can’t believe we had all these big stars ✨ in our team, just can’t wIt to see what Lamps is going to do when the season resumes and new players coming in
Yeah
Yeah...Not just super gifted technically, but leaders to the boot. We could use one or two right now, though the the lack of such players is wide spread, its not just us.
@@HgHg-yp6ft well Timo Werner is on his way to become the next Ballack
That felt just as amazing on the rewatch!!! BALLACK 13 WILL ALWAYS BE OUR LEGEND
The fact we had Avram Grant as our manager and turmoil when Mourinho left, but still pushed one of the great United teams on all fronts shows how good elite we were. Need this back soon.

I used to support Chelsea because of Ballack. He was my favorite player of all-time.
I was so young and was so happy to watch this game. I was a big chelsea Fan and lampard doesnt play for chelsea in this Match. In germany to see that this was one of the best games from Michael Ballack was absolute legendary. Pure emotions and flashbacks to watch this game today again. The old matches at this Level was the best!!!!!! (El Clasico is of the same Level and in some games was it better)
That's the Chelsea I couldn't wait to see on tv. Absolute legends starting from 2004: Cech, Terry, Carvalho, Lampard, Makelele, Essien, Robben, Ballack, Deco, Shevchenko, Drogba, Anelka, damn. No disrespect to the current squad but I lost interest and don't care about 17 year old Hudson Odois, Emersons, Kepas, Gilmores etc. It's not the same.
I agree. Football was so much different and much more exciting back then.
Racing Red I don’t know about you but its because we were all younger. In /2007/08, I was 11 years old and pretty much was interested in every player. Now at the age of 23, I don’t care about some 18 year old kids like Gilmour or Greenwood. Thevolder you get, the less you care. Footballers from my generation like Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez, Lampard, A Cole, Terry are either retired or are in their 30s and aren’t as good as they were 10 or so years ago.
@@accountuser5588 Being younger is definitely one factor here, but there just aren't any interesting personalities in football nowadays imo. There are good footballers but not many with great character and personality. And besides, I really hate all that VAR stuff. Even if it benefits my favorite team I still hate it. Football was much better and more fun without it.
@@horsepower523 so true

This was when football was enjoyable....Ballack was very much underrated for us but he was very effective and coming from Bayern meaning he had pedigree but bcuz he was German, he didnt get enough credit in England due to the England v Germany rivalry
Ballack. My idol.
Ballack best season was when frank lampard was injured. With essien and lampard, there was little space for him to play his style. Even on that match, he had little argument with drogba about who will take the free kick.

They wanted to make title race a little interesting so officials gave Chelsea the win. They always do that. Shows how good ManUtd are, they only lost 1 PL title from 2006/07 to 2010/11 yet every single one of those seasons the officials helped Chelsea gain more out of the head-to-heads vs ManUtd than they deserved.

Phenomenal header for the first goal. Needs to be placed extremely well and is, from open play as well. Super cross too, obviously.
This was my first watching chelsea match back then, i was 13 as we got our new tv, became a fan since.
Shevchenko coming all the back to defend and clear the ball off the line is pretty insane

Rehan raza khan def was his mother, i watched this match.
I remember been furious at Ballack for trying to take that free-kick away from Drogba, who ALWAYS took it from that range even with Ballack playing. That was Drogba's range, back off. Poor Essien was embarrassed. (Similar to the Barkley/Jorginho Penalty moment, lol)
No Drogba was better freekick taker.
@Score Goal 1. Drogba has more Chelsea seniority than Ballack 2. Due to that Seniority, Drogba has already proven himself a good free-kick taker and goal scorer for Chelsea 3. Before THAT moment, Ballack only took one free-kick for Chelsea when Lamps & Drogba were on the field. Where as Drogba was the regular taker from THAT distance. 4. Since you never watched Chelsea play live and probably are basing your information on wiki rather than what actually happened, maybe try keeping your mouth shut before putting your foot in your mouth.
