  • Laura Dern's portrait of Nora really showed how lawyers can be egotistical, hateful and how they don't see their clients as people, but as victories. At the end of the movie, Nora even tells Nicole how she "won" because she got extra custody with a clause at the end of the divorce. She truly never cared for Charlie or Nicole's feelings, she just wanted to win.

    • What's even worse is Nicole claiming to want to remain friends with Charlie while becoming close friends with someone who loved dragging him through the dirt. Nicole could be just as dirty in her own way too, she wasn't a victim in it, she also had an ego on her in how she was jealous of Charlie starting to get more spotlight than her. • This scene is perfect. Some of you must’ve seen the street interview in Jimmy Kimmel where they asked dad how well did they know their children. Most of them are so ridiculous to the point they don’t even remember their eyes colour or their birthday. People are making jokes and memes in the comment section, I would be so curious to see how the comment section turn out if it was the mother who forgot such basic things, the comments would be full of people condemning her irresponsibility, but somehow to father, this can all slip away. And people are in awe when a father knows how to change a diaper, take their kids to school, knows how to fold clothes, knows how to tutor their children, but again, no credits are given when its a mother. These kind of normal behaviour of how a responsible parent should act are being overlooked when it comes to father, and people are shocked when a father actually commits to that, isn’t it supposed to be normal? Why does the society normalise such things? It’s something we should truly reflect on

But looking at it with a calmer mood, i think its brilliantly Epic, Laura dern says in 1min a truth that we all know its a Truth, lets be honest, women are expected to do a million things more than men. When you get into a family house, and the house is a dirty mess, whos the first person you blame in your mind for not maintain the house clean?...

  • She is absolutely right! And not only that. When they’re arguing and he says he wishes she were dead among some other ‘beautiful’ stuff, you can feel how women have always set the path so men can achieve their goals and succeed. While women have to take on every burden and difficult tasks, they just get away with everything because It’s not their mission to accept and/or face certain conflicts and end up acting in a childish way and dodging the issue because they don’t know how to tackle serious issues as they are men and they get frustrated when dealing with serious problems that have to do with responsibilities or emotions.
