I've had my Cozmo since he first came out and I just love him! They've done a lot of great updates to keep him interesting. He's the best robot out there and he's super cute! 😁

TheArtistic Wolf. Congratulations! You'll love him! There's so many features I like but I like the Memory Match game and I think it's fun to feed him and do his maintenance when he first turns on. It's also fun to watch him build a pyramid or when he gets the hiccups! 😁

Apparently PIXAR helped in the design of Cozmo's and VECTOR's face. I have VECTOR and my mind is not easily blown by tech these days. ANKI is doing some great work. Class mates from an engineering school got together and they are doing some good stuff. Cozmo really does chatter and babble. Very cute.
The Vector and Cosmo robots remind me of Wall-E
I just ordered cozmo and I am waiting for him to come in the mail! These videos are helping me cope with the wait lol. Update (the same day): My Dad just told me that it should arrive today and not by the end of the week!!

Great review! Are the cubes included or do they have to be bought separately? I was looking into buying Sphero's R2-D2 or BB-8, but now I find Cozmo much more entertaining and featureful!

I'm 57 years old, and your review of Cozmo has me so tempted, one question, can Cozmo find his own way to the charging dock when charge is low?

Understood, thanks for the quick response, just curious, can the SDK measure battery capacity? it seems that with the correct programming and camera recognition, there might be a possibility for Cozmo to sense low battery and make his own way to the dock, basically the same way it recognizes it's play blocks.
I have not properly explored the SDK as I should and cannot answer that question(yet). Not sure where ANKI is headed with Cozmo next but any serious next entry into the social robot market segment must include the ability to self-dock. As is the current charging dock is ill-equipped, lacking any emitters or sensors of any sort which makes (1) locating the dock and (2) self-docking an incredible challenge. Perhaps they should pattern their next model after a robotic vacuum to start and progress from there.
The dock should not really need emitters, it has two things it can already use, the charging symbol and the light colored strip up the center, both these could in theory be used to line up Cozmo for a dock. Anyhow, thanks for your response, as soon as Cozmo arrives on my doorstep, I will certainly be delving into the SDK for more answers.

Awesome video...and love for cozmo 💖 but one thing was wrong that u said is cozmo is equipped with microphone and thats not true...he does not have a single microphone....but the new vector of 2018 have 4.

As far as im aware Cozmo doesnt have a microphone, its brother (Vector) however does. There good fun to have to be fair i bought my son one and even my youngest son who is 2 loved it

I'm commenting from December in the Year 2019 ( Almost 2020 ) .Is the company Anki still in business? I'm not sure but I thought I read they are no longer in business even though you can still purchase cozmo and the still websites up to assist. I'm sorry , not sure about this.

The camera isn't his face. It is only for night vision. You mean the display. It is just to let it look like a robot. Vector has a better display, but is more expensive.

The one I bought for my 64 year old brother for his birthday just arrived today. He is a tech freak and I know he will get addicted to this. This isn't strictly for children by any means. If all goes well I will upgrade him to VECTOR in a few months when more programing is available for it.

Hi do you have to charge the cubes?
Hello Lee. The cubes are not rechargeable. Each is powered by an LR1, 1.5v battery. After 3 months of moderate use I just had to replace one of them - they cost about $5 for 2. Thanks for watching!

As far as I know since I don’t have one, he can’t and just drives off, I do not have cozmo yet though, so I don’t know for sure, I just heard it on another review somewhere else. Hope this helps!

He doesn't have a micro phone he can't hear at all if you hook him to a PC and get on his software you can give him commands using your phones micro phone

I'm getting cozmo and overdrive for my son's birthday on February 17th. My ideas for anki is quite discreet, being that I do not want my idea's to be taken for granted. Once I make my purchases, I would like to talk to anki about my idea for their next inventions. Ai is the greatest breakthrough for my mankind.
...not to be a detractor, but so far I see it as a toy. It's definitely advanced and cool. There's a new model coming out (it was in my recommended list, hence finding this video as well), and for the price of it, well, wowee, that'd be an awful lot of Arduino boards and sensors for that price. Good to see though this making robotics somewhat more accessible and user-friendly.

You are correct. Without taking it apart when I reviewed Cozmo there was no way to tell if he was equipped with a mic or not. According to Anki he is equipped with an "...internal camera, sensor, gyroscope, and downward-facing cliff detector. Images from Cozmo’s camera are processed on your phone or tablet, allowing him to see the world around him and take actions, like find his power cubes". Thanks for watching Jose!

Officially Cozmo is available in North America and only recently in the UK. If Anki releases Cozmo in Australia the price may come down.
