How about checkings the stats of knocking people Unconscious in MMA and in boxing. MMA will always trump with those numbers.

      @Buckaroo_Banzai47@Buckaroo_Banzai475 ай бұрын
    • @@Buckaroo_Banzai47yep your pretty much right, the longer fights is a big part of it. Boxers do tend to throw a lot more strikes than in mma tho. Also yes obviously kicks and elbows do way more damage bit that's the thing if you get kicked in the head you're out, meanwhile look at a tko in boxing, sometimes they might eat 10 or so clean shots quickly in a row and be out on their feet before it's stopped. It's strange and hard to believe bit yeah that's basically why boxers end up with more brain damage than in most other combat sports

There are pro boxing fights where more than 1000 punches where thrown by one side. Light jabs for years rattle that brain. MMA has a much faster stoppage. Which I believe personally is good for the sport. Can't let unnecessary harm come to these guys, ya know. Anyway, nice chatting, I'm done shitting. Have a good one👍🏻

      @RaphialLee@RaphialLee5 ай бұрын
    • @@RaphialLeeYou can compare retired boxers to MMA fighters and they don't stack up well, retired boxers often have some of the worst brain trauma of any fighters. Even Freddie Roach suffers from Parkinsons due to the brain trauma he suffered. Boxers constantly die in the ring. MMA has had 7 deaths in sanctioned bouts in its entire history, boxing has 13 deaths per year. Also the careers are "shorter" because they fight less often as they don't need to pad their record as much and losses in MMA mean a lot less than they do in boxing. Also grappling is not great on your joints and hips, and generally athleticism/explosiveness is somewhat more important in MMA than in boxing.

A knee to the face or a spinning back kick to the face may look dangerous (and is) it'll most likely result in a flush ko if u hit ur opponent right, ending the fight. It's dangerous, but completely not as dangerous as repeated blows to the head over and over again, for 30 minutes to an hour straight. • Well it's definitely arguable. The only real danger in boxing is the brain damage, and statistics have shown about 20% of boxers end up with CTE. It's kinda hard to just outright say that's more dangerous than a sport that has potential for the exact same levels of brain damage, plus about 10x more physical injuries. In all reality they have the same levels of danger, it all just depends on the context of the fights, cause I've seen plenty of mma dudes take 5+ knockdowns without the 10 count and are taking strikes during recovery on the ground, same shit as boxing.

    • @@novarupture4582no disrespect to you man but it’s not arguable at all dawg. 1stly MMA is a shorter fight with less head contact. A boxing match is almost double the length of an MMA fight. 2ndly boxing has over the waist contact and a majority of that is aimed directly at the head in MMA they have other parts to hit. 3rdly MMA is wrestling and submissions so you can lose a fight without any head contact. 4th MMA gloves are much smaller than boxing gloves so the surface area a boxing glove hits is smaller than the space an MMA glove can hit. Bodily injuries are easily recoverable and have less long term impact, there is no recovery to the head trauma boxing does. Every year professional boxers die in the ring at an average of 13 a year, MMA is less than 3 a year.

Well get the fuck up, the match is not over." It's legit not that hard to understand that rules make it safer, not the style in itself. Quick edit note: To clarify, boxing is no less dangerous than MMA. It is a combat sport, and they all have their price to pay in one way or another.

    @frankkitajima4339@frankkitajima43395 ай бұрын
  • This is correct, it's a mixture of reasons, an often overlooked one is that boxing has very limited striking surfaces, no leg kicks, no knees to the body from a clinch, no throws or trips or submissions... Most shots are thrown to the head, it's the prime target and takes the brunt of all the trauma. Also boxing gloves are so padded out you are able to punch incredibly hard without as much risk of breaking your hand, all the padding also makes cuts less lieky so the bout is less lieky to be stopped for bad cuts that would happen with bare knuckles or much thinner gloves. Bare knuckle boxing is statistically safer than boxing due to the fact fights are stopped more often for bleeding stopping the guy just getting his brain constantly rattled also fighters have to pick their shots and how hard they throw them to which targets.... You're a lot more careful looking for that knockout blow when hitting a couple of inches too high will result in you shattering your bare/only wrapped hand on your opponents skull.
