  • I’m a big Harden hater especially in his Rocket days but this is 100% Embiid’s fault. Everyone already knew that Harden wasn’t the best playoff performer that’s why they made him Embiid’s sidekick. Harden won them 2 games, one of them without Embiid. If you’re the one crying to the league that you should be the MVP then you need to show up. You had 2 chances to close out the Celtics, Game 6 and Game 7 and you didn’t show up. You’re the only East superstar who has never been to a conference Final. Tatum, Giannis, and even Butler have done it with less help than Embiid has. People need to start talking about how this whole “Process” failure is Embiid’s fault, he always gets a pass if this were AD, Giannis or Jokic the media and the people would’ve torn thru them

  • Joel Embiid deserves all the slander and criticism. He had the audacity to whine about the MVP, put down Jokic in the process and his fanboys in the media went along with this bizarre racial and stat padding narrative. Ironically, it was Embiid who got destroyed defensively in the pick and roll. He look disinterested and slow last night. He checked out mentally after getting his MVP. Also it's funny how narrative was that Embiid is a two way player and equivalent to Jokic on offense. It's almost as if passing, rebounding and creating space for your teammates is as important as scoring. Watch the Nuggets and Sixers. On the Nuggets, the ball is being shared, crisp passes and reads made by Jokic and high quality shots taken. With the Sixers, 4 guys stand around doing nothing while Embiid does his things for 15 seconds, taking a contested soft 2 pointer.

In this case we have the MVP, and a former MVP who many thought was one of the best scorers of all time. When you play that poorly, especially 9 points from James harden, it's not about the coach getting these guys prepared and making them execute. It's about how much they want it. And clearly they don't, we have to start holding players accountable as well it's only fair.

  • While I agree that James Harden did choke as per usual, its criminal to focus so much of this segment on his shortcomings this series. James Harden himself willed this series into a Game 7 in the first place, practically single-handedly winning two games by himself. There was not ONCE this entire series where Embiid was definitively the best player on the court, as an MVP should be. I'm not going to draw comparisons to other MVP candidates and draw parallels, because context matters in all situations. But for the MVP to never come up big in any moment that is legacy defining should speak leagues about him as a player and a leader. More so, its shameful that ESPN will highlight the shortcomings of other players and spend so much time talking about the #2 option when simply, one of the most dominant forces in the league today can't put up more than 15 points in a close out game. Embiid deserves the disdain and chirping from the basketball community, and the only way he can silence those critics is to actually show up for once in a series.

  • The game was obviously more about JT and Boston winning. But honestly idk how Harden is getting all the blame it should be on Embiid. Harden basically won game one 1 and 4 by himself. He didn’t play well in this game but neither did the supposed MVP

  • I recall Harden scored like 45 points in game 1 and at the end of the game can be heard saying "this is just game 1". Well he wasn't wrong, Harden gave us 1 vintage game and was MIA for the series when Philly needed him the most.

    • he dropped 42 in game 4 and hit the game-winner in that game as well, also had an excellent game 5

  • Harden won us two games the first one purely by himself. This is on Embiid

  • I never understood why anyone has EVER been a James Harden fan. Unless you lived in Houston during his Rockets days, I just don't see it.

  • 1). ESPN needs to turn down Perkins’ mic & or FIX their audio issues (chirping noises) 🤦🏽‍♂️ 2.) Embiid needs to play BETTER! MVP w/NO signature performance. Harden is 33/34 years old

  • The record for Doc Rivers is not necessarily due to his gameplan or his ability to plan for a game 7. It's about his adjustments, and his ability to keep his composure when the water gets choppy. He is always on the sidelines yelling at officials, getting frustrated and wasting energy on things that don't matter. It's just like what Mike D'Antoni always did and the results appear to be the same. Losing big games in embarrassing/heartbreaking fashion cause of an inability to keep composure
