To be honest, I have no idea why I’m watching this. Almost two years after release, I’ve put hundreds of hours into the game, loving almost every minute. I guess I’m on a tiny nostalgia trip.
I just came for the same reason
I played for about 40 hours when it first came out and then got busy and sidetracked with other games coming out. Just recently picked up where I left off and now I'm hooked again, up to 115 hours total. I never saw this video back at the time. In 2016 I wasn't even really playing current games or paying attention, just vaguely knew they were working on a new Zelda game.
ScaryBarry have you played BOTW in VR? It is a totally new experience .... I started master mode over again in VR and it is mind blowingly amazing!
I've seen the entire walkthrough. But that was the game. Exploration is different.

Minor detail, but I love how Link's feet angle themselves to be flat against whatever surface he's on, such as standing on a roof.
Me too. A lot of companies never bother to account for differences in stance, so you often have NPCs in stances resembling a flat surface so one of their feet are in the air.
PS1 games had that.... Namely, Tomb Raider.
Koko the Arabian wow, Tomb raider did? I'll have to replay that game just to see for myself because I didn't think the PS1 could handle that kind of graphical detail.
They kinda do.
These kind of details have been there since The Wind Waker, not so well worked but they were there.
The nature, the environment, the grass and the animals are amazing!
Superb. I think they should add a Special running mode, when you hold it, Link can just go on autopilot to run pass and turn the dangerous edges without stopping, like at 0:42 . It would be smoother I think. Other than that, Zelda has always been my favorite games since long.

And I learned something new! I had no idea you could scope enemies' health in the pre-release build, or that there was something behind that waterfall!

My gosh, I put maybe 350 hours into it. I love the game, but I have gotten tired off of it. Tried to beat the game 3 hearts Master Mode, done all the bosses except for the dessert one. Seems impossible.
@@Thesamurai1999, I have yet to do Master Mode seriously, so that could be extra content for me. I played around with glitches for a while, 100%-ing also took a little while. There were many, many times where I'd just explore with not real aim. 😅
what really impressed me was the ACTUAL custom map markers (sword, skull, shield, etc) to let you know EXACTLY what goal you plan to take of your choice. Much better than typical stock "primary and secondary" markers.
Yea. it's pretty cool. They kind of encourage you to go out and explore and map the whole world by yourself.
I like the markers and the purpose of them. It's awesome that you're not just screwing around hoping to walk into a story event. But i do miss the old Morrowind style navigation where you were told to a general direction and off you went. It truly encouraged exploration because you were always going into random caves, town, traversing mountains, just to find that next story mission. But i understand that most people these days would simply give up if they couldn't find where to go after a certain amount of time. I suppose i'm just wallowing in the past XD

I disagree with the ppl saying "this doesnt feel like a zelda game". I've been a fan since very little. I wud even dress up as link when i was 4 years old with green skirts and white tights ... plastic toy swords lol. This feels very zelda to me even with all the changes. I'm so happy he made this one an open world with many many things to do

Looks unbelievably good. Can't wait - Nintendo knows how to make games no matter what people say about their decision making sometimes. Give them enough time, they always produce gems

That's what I'm thinking. There seem to be more RPG elements in this one than all the other's combined.
Haha, would be so fitting... Except in a land in time where they are still using bows and arrows and horses, they seem to have moved from paper scrolls and maps, to shieka tablet futuristic electronic devices like IPads or whatever.

Game of the generation. I wish I could play it again with no memory of it.
So this game's got elements of Minecraft's Survival mode with it's hunting and gathering, Elder Scrolls with the giant open world and the way you're thrown into it, and now MGSV with how you can scope things out, mark them and even scan enemies at 12:48. God damn, this is gonna be great.

I'm soon confused how one can criticize this game.. it's open world, which looks amazing.. it has a sense of realism while being a rpg.. It reminds me of my favorite games, runescape, fantasy life, and LoZ of course, rolled into one epic game. I've watched a bunch of people play this game and every time, they do something different.. And nintendo is promising this is only 2% of the game lol. That's pretty exciting to me. As far as the background music, or lack of, I like it. it's called "Breath of the Wild." there is no music playing out in the wilderness lol. plus it's a calming quiet, which would be really different from most other games. And I think it's a unique difference that people will enjoy. Overall the gameplay looks great. I really can't wait to get my hands on it and actually play it for myself lol
13:00 Was that feature taken out in the final game? I don’t recall ever seeing it. Also, 13:35 there’s an animation when opening up the menu, and also when closing the menu. In the final game, it’s just a instant transition. I like the animation a lot better, it makes the game feel smoother and flow better

@Thomas Price Well yeah, but it would be cool to do that without having to get the champions shirt. Which is too weak to realistically use until you upgrade it, which will take a bit of time to go out of your way to get the resources
watching these to relive my excitement in anticipation of tears of the kingdom. i’m so ready. just like botw, which has eaten hundreds of hours of my life, the things they’ve hinted at for totk have got me so excited i can barely wait!!
I just love the first few hours of the game. The whole thing is amazing but it's really awe inspiring the first moments walking out and taking anything on. Simply one of my favorite gaming memories
Almost 5 years ago I remember watching this It was my first open world game and I thought it was unbelievable and awesome. I remember this one line “your going in the drink, your going in the water 2:49”

The way they design the map was pure genius. I can found my own way to travel long distances without having to take a look at my map. I spent hundred hours on other games and I never succeed to memories so many places easily as I do in breath of the wild. This is where they make the revolution in « open world » games.

This is stupid. It's not exactly like the old top down SNES version with true dungeons man. Nah I'm jk, poking fun at the Final Fantasy crowd. The Zelda crowd seems much more open to change. And this game looks great

so many good memories of obsessing over E3 Treehouse live! This specific E3 with the Treehouse team playing the game was just so fun to watch, they played for hours while not spoiling anything
Only about half way through the video right now, but I just want to say that I'm really glad they added a temperature system in this game. Ever since trying the Frostfall mod for Skyrim, I've been in love with the concept of warmth based survival, and I feel like it's something a lot more games should take advantage of.
Well I mean OOT had Death Mountain but no real system in place, so I think that idea was just improved

If the clothing options are stat-based, then I'm gonna assume that Link's traditional hat and tunic have the highest stats in the game. If I'm wrong then I would love a great customization feature.
I'd imagine they have some sort of bonus, but things such as armor probably have more defense, for example. Such as how the biggoron sword did twice as much damage as the master sword in OOT but you couldn't use the shield with it.
I can definitely see it being the end game armor with ridiculous stats. It's his most iconic outfit of course.
Its possible it could have the highest attack stat and protects against the elements, but maybe standard defense. I'm hoping its a tunic that resembles his Zelda 1, 2, ALttP, and ALBW outfits.
Not so sure this game is going in the direction of giving one outfit the best overall stats. There'll probably be high defense stats on something like the traditional outfit or magic armor but there's also outfits designed to increase stealth and speed. One thing I'd like to see them do is take something like the golden gauntlets and iron boots and give them a function in combat. If the golden gauntlets give you enough strength to throw boulders around you'd think they could make you strong enough to do something like dual wield the master sword with big goron sword or be able to fight in a hand-to-hand combat style. Could use the iron boots as a kicking weapon.

Its definitely the top 3 best Open world games ever made, and hands down the best Nintendo game ever made.
The games not even out yet and i'm allready adicted to it. I just can't get enough of the artstyle, the combat, the beutiful vistas, just looking at the size of the map makes me struggle to contain my hype. I love the mystery, the wonder, the excitement. The paraglider looks really fun. For some reason I just love the way you shoot arrows in this game, it looks very fluid. The RPG elements will probably suck me in. And all this for a game I've never even played, it can't come any sooner.

Zelda is finally as epic as it's lore's namesake. This game is going to be fantastic.
The struggle when you don't know if you'll buy this for Wii U or NX... I already own the Wii Dustcollector U Pretty much bought it for Zelda. Which... Took longer than I thought lol

The games I own for it are Wind Waker HD,ZombiU, Mario Kart, Pikmin 3 & Super Smash Bros U Then again.. My main platforms are PC and PS4.
I guess it comes down to what the NX launch line up/console gimmick is like. if an NX isn't worth getting at launch then get the wii u version, but if you're going to the the NX at launch then to get zelda for that system for the benefits it will have I guess haha

Can we all just appreciate how good Sam was as a host, she felt very genuinely excited yet calm and collected. It was really nice :) The many of the guest hosts felt like they were just phoning it in for the camera or trying to hype up the game because they get paid but she felt like she actually wanted to be there.
The more I watch this game, the more amazing it looks. I am more than excited.
I feel like crying, this game is so beautiful. It's only been 3 months since E3. The game doesn't come until at least March. All I can say is, I NEED IT!!!!!!

I used to binge watch these e3 gameplay vids for hours before the game came out, now I’m just glad I can play the game on my own without experiencing the pain of watching these gameplay videos.

Finally Zelda gets back to it's roots of open exploration! We haven't had a game this open and explorable since the very first Zelda on the NES. Just like the NES, you're basically given no dialog or story and told to just 'do it'. You can do dungeons out of order and everything. Even the first character you meet is a robed old man! I can't wait to play this game!

I'd imagine there are some permanent boosts, but at the very least you get temporary upgrades from food.
I saw another video where they said there will be people and towns, but they didn't want to spoil anything, so they just stuck to the beginning area, which is mostly wilderness.
I just want to play this game SOOOO much. It will be so fun to take my time, and try to raid the goblin huts stealthily.

Yes, and then a genocide run where you kill everyone, including Zelda and innocent NPCs, and it ends with Link being the king of Hyrule, with a crown on his head, sitting in a throne of skulls, with everything on fire.

This easily looks like it will be one of the best games ever made. That map is HUGE!!! Also I love the idea of Stalchilds spawning at night like in Ocarina of Time

Scanning and marking enemies seeing how skilled the enemies are, sneaking while killing, surviving the wild and picking mushrooms, open world, this game is like mgs3 and phantom pain at the same time in the medieval era. But the game play is so LEGENDS OF ZELDA, both mgs and zelda are my favorite game

Your weapon flashes red in the inventory screen when it's about to break so that's something at least.

Anaru Sama Saying that something makes the game way too easy is not really an argument. I'm not pushing for the game to be easy, I'm pushing for the game to be playable
the game always tells you when a weapon is about to break, so i don't think the meter would help. And by easy i meant that the experience of surviving would be lost.
