HyperX Cloud Mix - A Mixed Up Gaming Headset?

2024 ж. 17 Мам.

HyperX has been known for making some of the best gaming headsets around. The Cloud Mix bluetooth headset on the other hand is a bit of an odd product when compared to the Cloud Flight, Revolver S and other members of the HyperX family.

The retail on the cans alone is $200 as well, so there would be a $30 or so premium to add the BoomPro but for such a an audio quality focused setup, I think it's worth it. Also sometimes the M50x BTs do go on sale for about $170 occasionally.

  • An excellent review. Amazon has lowered the price to $159.99, but I still think the price is too high, considering they're not much different than the Alpha Cloud. which can now get at Amazon for $84.99.

  • Off topic but I just finished watching JayzTwoCents' latest video "Fractal Design Meshify S2 Review" and he mentioned HardwareCanucks and I thought to myself I haven't heard from them in a while. I realized I was no longer subscribed to you guys. Seems KZhead unsubscribed me from your channel in which I just resubscribed again. Weird.

  • I don't know about you guys but when looking for a pear of headphones that can, be used for Gaming and music, use cable when it dosent have battery for long trips, use bluetooth when you dont have to worry about battery, have detachable mic and look nice so you dont look like an alien while being outside.. I feel like this is the best option for me. Im going to wait a week before buying to see if any of you guys give me a better solution out there... One question, just finished watching the video, at 5:15 he talks about the Flight that connects via USB, and can also be used in wired mode, as in jack ?

    • Nobody says they are not great, we say they are overpriced. For the same price you can get the older wired model and some good bluetooth headphones.

  • the built in microphone is one million times better than that boom thing omygod. I didn't even notice you were using the headsets mic until you said it. Holy hell that mic is good

    • no, it is not. for gaming atleast, you will pick up alot of background noise, your keyboard, your movement, people talking around you. with boomarm microphone idk what its called thing you basically almost only hear your voice.

  • Long time fan of your channel guys, top notch reviews! However... in this one I feel you missed the entire point of the product. These headsets, including the Arctis 3 Bluetooth, shouldn't really be compared to other regular gaming headsets as they have /two/ major use-cases; first one is the "obvious" one, for switch owners wanting to use a secondary device (mobile/PC) for voice while getting game audio from the wired connection. My use-case however is different, and a reason why I was looking at this one as well as the Arctis 3 Bluetooth (as well as the very expensive Arctis Pro): I wanted a good pair of wireless headphones for music on the go/while travelling, as well as in front of my computer, additionally I want a decent gaming headset. Why buy two (for guaranteed a larger price tag) when there's no technical limitation nor reason for not combining bluetooth for music on the go and wired connectivity for gaming? Especially since in my case I don't even have a need to combine audio-streams (compared to the Switch users). Ultimately I ended up with the Plantronics BackBeats Pro 2 (which according to rtings seems to have some really nice audio combined with a good battery and some ANC), which I'm planning on combining with the V-moda BoomPro for the gaming use. Net sum seems to be similar to the Cloud Mix, and while higher than the Arctis 3 Bluetooth, I will definitely have better battery life, likely better sound as well as less hassle with proprietary sound connections on the headset (and aptx LL which could be used for games when mic is not needed). In any case, as mentioned, I feel you missed the entire point of the product in this review, and while I didn't opt for this product for my use-case in the end, it was one of very few options I had (and a very viable one at that).
