This Diva Dance was from his Bastau Concert and he’d been singing other songs for a while. If you notice he is sweating quite a bit so that may be why he had that one tiny “mistake” if you will.
I do think he meant to slide between those three notes.
It was on purpose. The 'man' is really a perfect quantum machine. It's literally impossible for it to make mistakes.

You can see the sweat running off him when he does this, and I just love it. He is so engaging to watch an listen too. You have no fear he is going to botch it, having the choice of nearly every note, he sounds perfect..... I can listen to him for hours. I also think, he brings a lot of people into the world of Opera, which might never think of listening to it. I believe he opens a lot of musical doors, which is just a fabulous thing for all.
I'm just halfway through and I love your collab !! And thank God you are rewinding and replaying the parts which you are explaining. This makes it for us non-professionals so much easier to understand what exactly you mean.

By the way on the Diva dance, Dimash just got through doing a whole concert so you can see he was pretty sweaty and wore out, hence the blunder..:-)
jim 🤔IDK. I wouldn’t say it was a “blunder.” If you’re referring to when she said it wasn’t “clean,” he may have actually intended the slide. When she went back, even she seemed to reassess what she said. (Sorry if I misunderstood you and you were referring to something else.)
You could listen to Dimash singing more like a baritone in Ulysses with Aida Garifullina or on Ti amo cosi With Aida and Lara Fabian.
I was expecting more analysis but still loved the reaction. Claudia's so cute lol it's amazing how he sang this towards the end of his concert he has vocal chords of steel. I believe the next one us unforgettable day but you have to do the gakku performance. Dimash hits the highest not we have heard from him so far.
So glad to see and realize how he changes the covers to fit his style. Just like the SOS, he adds a mix or tone change to each one. Same with the DD that he makes it his own. There are a few where he adds the whistle note in it but it works the way he manipulate it. Enjoyed the reaction as usual.
There have been some old fan cam performances (before his appearance on The Singer (China Competition) which showed him performing part of the main piece before the electronic Diva Dance portion... One note: this version of The Diva Dance is based on the sci-fi film "Fifth Element" where an alien was performing a version of the piece -- they had to electronically add to some of the alien vocals to get the fast vocal switching on the downward run, plus Dimash drops the low octave lower than the film version, and adds in the final extra high note at the end to complete the song. In more current live performances he also adlibs in 7th Octave whistle notes at times.
Eh...Nice of you to give her the info about Fifth Element, but at the very beginning Angel says to be a big fan of it, particulary the song & likes analysing it & recommending others to check the original out. Angel even explains the synopsis of the movie in this clip to Claudia.

Great reaction girls, you both work so well together. If you want to hear Dimash's Operatic Baritone voice, you need to review his duet with soprano Aida Garifallina "Ullisse". In this song he remains in his Baritone range until the last couple of notes. 😊🏴👍
Inva Mula is the soprano who sang the aria portion and the notes of the Diva Dance piece which was written specifically to be impossible to sing in parts because it was being performed by an alien. From what I have read she did sing all the notes in the additional piece but her voice was electronically manipulated because some of the note transitions as written were too fast to be done by the human voice, something she pointed out when shown the score. Anyone who does perform it live has to modify it. If you want to see another combination of Diva Dance I would recommend listening to Dimash with Li Yugang combining it with a Peking Opera piece (Drunken Concubine) where instead of the long descending note run he sustains a very high whistle note. kzhead.info/sun/aJGNkbGdqV-ZoJ8/bejne.html is the link. I would be overjoyed to hear your thoughts on Li Yugang's voice (in Peking Opera men traditionally play the female characters which he does here with Dimash playing the male role in the song). Dimash sang at least part of the "Diva Dance" intro but it was in 2016. (I have a fancam of about 30 seconds of this and can email it to you if you'd like.) For 2017 and beyond I have only seen him do the flashy part.

Just a little correction but not so important Diva Dance song was written by French composer Eric Sierra just for the movie The Fifth Element and sung by renowned famous Albanian soprano Inva Mula Tchako, I met her in person, that's where I am from. But I was saying the song was't meant to be singing by humans, as you can see there is runs in the movie that are digitized by computers but Dimash brought it at the high level of his best. And yes his staccato is his breakfast :)..There is another version of him singing Diva Dance along with Confessa back in Chinese Competition 2017. LOTS of "vocal coaches" did the reaction were very critical abt his singing instead of appreciating & in awe of his capabilities & learning from it. This was more than a 2 hour concert & this ridiculous difficult song was into the near end of the concert. Can you do it? No? Yes? Thats why he is in the world stage now with a backup of a famous Russian composer who got out of his retirement & latest with the help of the fabulous Ms Fabian & everyone else still a "reactor"?

About time someone said it. I'm so tired of these so called vocal coaches and opera singers always wanting to analyze!! All while trying to sing parts and hit notes they know they can't. I've seen enough reactions on youtube to Dimash to know a lot of people are either intrigued or down right pissed their voices can't do what his does.

There is no full Diva Dance by Dimash. Instead, he sang Diva Dance with Confessa in Singer 2017. Also you can chck Diva Dance+Drunken Concubine with Dimash and Li Yugang. He used F#7 instead of this crazy slide down in this interpretation.

As far as I'm aware he has never done the full aria, just the diva dance part.
the original Lucia song doesn't have the alien diva part after it, or does it !?! only in the movie the Lucia song is followed by the diva song. thus Dimash sang it on the singer competition together with Confessa (original by italian singer Adriano Celentano), then on this concert without another song before it (or you could say with 2+ hours of songs before it :-) and the third very interesting version is the duet "drunken concubine" with a chinese opera singer. you can (and in this case should) listen to any of Dimash's performances and will always hear (at least slightly) different versions of the same songs ...

The version done on the Singer 2017 (Confessa + Diva Dance) was very close to the original. Dimash rarely does a song the same way twice.

This version from Bastau is way better the only reason why is because the key it’s being played on is the same as the one from “The fifth element” as compared to the contessa and divas dance as it’s played a few keys down which isn’t necessarily on par to the original.
I hope she reacts to it because yes diva dance at Bastau is the best but I want to see her react to Confessa. I think the way he sings that is my favorite tone of his, sexy, also he is so comfortable with Italian. I love it.

His baritone in Ti Amo Cosi is so yummy and gorgeous and not to be missed! Available from Dimash's official KZhead channel which is safe to use.....no KZhead strikes. He sang Ti Amo Cosi with Lara Fabian and Aida Garifullina. Beautiful performance from all three of them. And he performed a duet with Aida singing Ulisse using his gorgeous baritone. Dimash recommends another Russian singer personally , Diana Ankudinova , which is my favorite besides Dimash , she is just a teenager and has been singing since the age of 5 . I wont tell you much about her it will spoil the surprise if you don't know about her . She won the Russian talent show for Orphans at 14 years old .
