Despite how you feel about Messi, it’s undeniable, that both as a scorer and playmaker, he really is different from any other player in history - contributing at both aspects in a way nobody else has ever done before. A once in a lifetime talent. From struggling earlier in the year to carrying his squad to the World Cup final, Lionel Messi is doing it all and further proving how he is the best player in the world. But unfortunately, he can't keep doing this forever. Does he have what it takes to push one more and finish with the final trophy he's missing in his final push to World Cup glory?

  • I think Messi leaving barca made him play better in Argentina. Leaving his comfort zone and struggling for a year forced him to adapt to new systems and that made him stronger internationally. S9nce he left barca he won Copa and will most likely won the world cup. This is what happens when you take on new challenges. Salute to messi. From a Ronaldo fan.

    • Messi was getting better in Argentina before he left Barca. His last few years in Barca were actually a nightmare and it's well known that he started to prefer playing for Argentina, whereas it used to be the opposite. He won Copa America BEFORE he joined PSG. Ironically, he had to leave in 2021 when he specifically didn't want to leave, whereas in 2020 he was dying to get out and just couldn't.

But the argument about his age I think makes no sense, since Ibra, a much less athletic player, has been fantastic despite the age, I think Ronaldo has athleticism of a 28 year old now, it is just the combination of so many things that made him decline drastically.

We finally built a team that doesn't depend on Messi, though we had great coaches and players before, and that even boosts him. • In the 15 years I have been watching football. No player has ever made football as effortless as he has. There is a university study which proves with complex statistical and mathematical models just how far and above he is compared to all the other players in his era. CR7 is a great athlete, and I have watched all of his RM games, but he never really striked me as a legendary footballer. I have always enjoyed watching Messi, despite him playing for a rival club, the best I have seen as I can’t comment on the older greats because I didn’t witness their greatness. Ronaldo is a great striker, but he is not the better player. And talent and technically-wise? Not even close.

    @DBrealmadrid9606@DBrealmadrid9606 Жыл бұрын
    • Statistical and mathematical models? Can they account for the bribery scandal barcelana was involved in. Crooked refs. Fiffas clear hatred of cristiano. And last but not least the Copa America twice in a row, just so messi could win. He lost by the way. Twice to Chile. Can the models account for that. Tell me in way is messi superior to cristiano. Not in speed, heading, shot power , physical strength, IQ, drilling. Look at his Manchester highlights and then real madrid . Messi folds under pressure, he is not a leader. He doesn't frighten keepers. He played with xavi, Iniesta, puyol, and other Spanish players at the height of la furia Roja world dominance. Of course he was gonna do well. Please tell me how is messi better.

He’s playmaking and passing in the Argentinian team more than ever and the goals he’s scored shows that he still has the scoring ability. He’s preserving his body while being able to be explosive and dangerous. (like in the Croatian game) his stats may not be what they used to be, but that’s because his play style isn’t the same. If you ask me, I think Messi in still in his prime in his own way and play-style. He truly is out of this world

I think also worth mentioning (eventhough hypothetical) is that he managed to carry a rather weak team to the final in the 2014's world cup only to lose against a brilliant German site, in an extremely close match. If Argentina would have had a better team, especially in defence (like the do have now), I think it's more than likely he'd already be world champion at this point. This kind of football love which I find is lacking in the toxic footballing community where people take rivalries to seriously and throw hate and insults to different players and teams , even towards legends of the do not escape from this. They take football too seriously at the expense of their humanity. This kind of culture prevalent really spoil the joy of watching the game sometimes and I feel creates an unhealthy environment for footballers to play which can take the ease and joy of playing the sport. So it's nice to witness a true football in you, Raymar.
