Inoues resume is not lame whatsoever either.. you probably just dont know your lower weight classes. every fighter hes fought too has also had a positive winning record besides one. Its also just wrong to say a currently 122 inoue who started his career at flyweight should fight lightweights and super lightweights. hes p4p the 2nd best in the world imo behind terence crawford.

  • the only ridiculous thing in this fight is a judge score 118-110. i dont know if he is drunk or something. well anyway, the right man won this fight. MJ have his moments in those last and championship rounds but tapales takes lots of rounds in first half of the fight.

  • Tapales should maintain his stamina. He has a great defense, but his offense is a bit underwhelming. He should transition his defense into counter punches, efficiently. He must have better boxing decisions

  • No matter if Naoya's opponent is Tavares or Murozon, he will lose by KO anyway. These guys are slow, punch with only a few moves, lack footwork, and are slow.

    • He has no chance of winning. He is too flat-footed, no rythm and always swings wide with his right hook and left straight. He also lacks accuracy which is a big factor. He also looked gassed out at R8 while Inoue went toe-to-toe against Donaire full 12 rounds.

  • The former champion 🏆 made a mistake on letting the Challenger eat the first half of the fight. And then the former champion kept getting hit by the same and repeated shots (lead left uppercuts and long left hooks in the exchanges. Brave Tapales went for broke from the first to the last round.   • Akhmadaliev's reluctance in the early rounds cost him the fight. I think they are evenly matched, marlon has unloaded his share in the early rounds but didn't back down when MJ started his ownslaught. A little too late

At the end of the day the one who landed more in every round but not accurate should always win against someone who threw less & landed less, it doesn’t matter how accurate you are, that’s how boxing should be judge.

  • I watched this fight and i think 115-113 for Tapales is the right score, MJ is agressive starting from mid rounds but Tapales has a good defense and countering effectively, it can be also a draw i think, this deserve a rematch

    • @@mueldelacruz1769 yep! nice observation right there bro. well, being aggressive is natural to him. he's a southpaw a natural unorthodox boxer, and filipino boxers fighting style way back then till now are aggressive. so it is rare to see tapales adjust his fighting style to condemn MJ's aggressiveness. and it's so damn effective, he made MJ flat footed🤣 he's like a natural orthodox boxer.(tho his form and hesitation is awkward) 🤣

  • Tapales' jab, defense and movement were on point the entire fight, meanwhile MJ seemed somewhat hesitant in the earlier rounds, while his defense was getting exploited by Tapales who was landing all night. Despite the fact that he lost the titles to Inoue, this was a great performance by Tapales. Two top guys at their weight class going at it, you love to see it, respect to both warriors.

  • some of you underestimated the defense play of tapales. I mean he's good at it abd good counter puncher too come on guys y'all wanna see an aggressive fighter like pacman and donaire but this man has a unique play so give a chance and support tapales. I'm fully aware the he has a flaws like he really looks exhausted after round 5 or 6 and his footwork is kinda slow but overall nice defense from tapales.
