One of the great things about fishing is the unknown, but when meeting up with Paul Bailey and Matt Newman I'm sure we'll catch big bass every time. On this special episode of Stoked On Fishing, Paul Bailey catches a potential world record bass while fishing Lake Berryessa and Clear Lake throwing big baits for bass.

  • Wow just seeing this out of the box kzhead.infoUgkxQr1yd4Zc6qJF-scTB6Zb9dQbVpviuRxB recommend I have yet to fish with this set up, but based on the first hands on appeal, I can tell this is going to change the way i pack and carry to a whole new level. If you fish like i do, you know the smaller and less stuff the better. I’ve added a photo of just some of my gear so you can see how serious i am about fishing.

    • +Rob “WatchTheBomb” S when a bass weighs over 5 pounds it can seriously injure them. Every single bass I catch out of my local ponds have loose, floppy jaws, an indication that their jaws are stretched out pass capacity. The point is you shouldn't do it. I don't get why people have such a hard time excepting the fact that they shouldn't hold bass a certain way.

    @mgraber1@mgraber19 ай бұрын
  • Wow, incredible! Im glad you took the high road and released the fish. BTW, most decent bait and tackle shops will have an IGFA certified scale. You also need to have 50 feet or so of the line that you used to catch the fish. This is so they can test for line strength as some records have line strength associated with them. And you should take pictures from different angles with an object to compare with the fish. Also take measurements, length and girth. Awesome fish.

    @ubb4me@ubb4me8 жыл бұрын
    • I no longer recognize igfa, if they wont accept 3 seperate scales on film, then they are only in it for the money "buy my stuff for it to count" and for those reasons, IGFA can pack sand. This man has/had the world record, end of story; full stop.

      @TrueHelpTV@TrueHelpTV10 ай бұрын
    • High road? Don't make me laugh. It hurts when I laugh. They don't care about scales that are certified! They've shown that they're willing to break the rules! Just like the two idiots that did in the walleye tournaments did they stole!!! These are not fishermen...

  • I'm a devoted carp fisherman from the UK. You guys have shit loads of mega uncaught carp over there. Making the US probably rhe best destination for carp fishing, shame you guys view them as trash fish. Maybe its because you have so much more variety in what you can fish for. Catching carp in the UK can be pretty hard cause they've all been caught before and are pretty wise when it comes to not falling for our rigs and baits etc. If I was younger and healthier I would definitely head over their, as your fish and lakes are just stunningly beautiful. Great fishing and video btw. All the best from the UK.

  • A little trick when taking pictures of your fish… Never hold it sideways, or up close… Always hold the Bass with one hand on the lip, hold it out straight in front of you and the camera man should be on his knees filming up, a couple feet away… Trust me, it is the best way to show how large the Bass is… 👍👍👍👍

  • Amazing video gentlemen! Nothing but respect for all of you for not killing the fish. I am pretty certain I will never break any records but if I ever did, I would have done the same thing. I would rather release a giant fish than kill it for a title.

    • You guys are extremely ignorant. They always supported the tail end of the fish whenever it wasn't held vertically. Clearly you're just jealous and hating and have nothing better to do. Not even going to bother reading what other stupid things you have to say next.

    • +FishingThePNW You clearly didn't watch the entire video then. They held all of the smaller ones incorrectly and only held the bigger ones properly because they had no choice. They treated that stick better than they treated the fish.

  • Man, I was screaming " weight it on shore!". I saw another video where another one was disqualified because it was weighed on a dock. It's got to be on solid ground. Did you take it's measurements? A fiberglass repoduction would look sweet on the wall too. Good job, dude.

  • They need to change the rules to accommodate our good catch and release mindset. Why should we have to kill a record fish to get a record. We need those monster fish reproducing not sitting on a wall so someone can look at it and wonder if it's real or fake. It's real when they catch one, and hopefully put it back.
