  • This breaks my heart! I'm black but not Nigerian or African by birth. I am a descendant of slaves who docked in South America after leaving the continent of Africa. I grew up in America and we've had and continue to have our own protests over the senseless murders of so many black women, men and children for as long back as I can remember by the hands of white supremacists in uniform. That alone hurts but the heartache I feel seeing people who look like me being murdered in Nigeria by those who most closely resemble them is an indescribable feeling. I hurt for the Nigerians protesting and the ones they have to protest for. I pray for your safety and stamina to continue to fight for your right to live. Sending Prayers of protection from NYC!

Police brutality is not a big issue in most African nations. Nigeria has a special problem with it, but in neighbouring Ghana, Togo, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Gabon etc, the police are very friendly and helpful, so their citizens have it BETTER than what is experienced by Afro Americans and their brutal, racist, trigger-happy police in the US.

  • The great sage, late Pa Awolowo once said, "when the time comes, the people themselves will rise up & deliver themselves." Good job to the current youths of Nigeria. My generation faced armed soldiers and loaded tanks, and we dethroned the Army from the political stage & sent them back to their barracks...even though the democracy they gave us, was laced with tyrannical and constitutional loopholes in the 1999 document, we still moved on till now....the baton has been handed over, take back your country and powers and demand for the country of your dreams.
