is it okay if i install this on a new partition from the same disk i used to install windows ? so i have windows and zorin in same disk but different partition
Thanks Don.
I have been using Zorin 17 PRO for a month but it always gives me an error of internet connection while checking for new updates or packages and every once in a while it froze on me. I like it a lot, but as of now I will be using Linux Mint.
Suggestion: can you do a video about installing Pop!OS on Proxmox, all I"m getting is a black screen, not sure what to do next. Love you work, great job!
I've used Zorin16 more than any other distro and now I'm embedded. I would really like it to be upgradable from v16 that I'm running now so I don't have to save all my files and reload from scratch again
next time you wipe/reformat, make a separate partition for your home folder so you can keep it separate from your install.
@@massgrave8x what I really need to do is delete that Windows10 partition I haven't gone back to.
I believe they have now released a tool for upgrading from Zorin 16 to Zorin 17 while keeping all your files intact
Video ideas for your proxmox series. Create vm linux, windows, Android. Mount you deb nas share to them. Been enjoying for prox series.
That's cool! I've been using Zorin since the 8 Core/Ultimate on various laptops. Around version 10 or 11, there were still a lot of bugs, especially in the Ultimate, which was a paid version priced at 10 dollars back then.
can't get goverlay/mango hud to launch =/
Thanks for this look at Zorin OS 17.
very interesting, i might consider switching from windows to zorin in this decade
I made the switch after 25 years and have never looked back
@@Magnetar83 to zorin or some other distro?
Is it good for casual gaming like roblox and web browsing because I'm having hard time with windows and it's glitches 😭
@@Your_Pookie_bear i don't think you can roblox on linux bro Whenever i open up Grapefruit, after the login screen it's just white
I installed Zorin 16.3 core for my father, who loves it. I tried to upgrade to Core 17, but it doesn't show in the upgrade. Has anyone had similar issues?
It's not available for 16 right now.
@@purpasmart_4831 That sucks. So, I would have to do a clean install to use it!
@@ipponyc just wait for the upgrade to be available
I will get option to upgrade to 17 or o have to download new ISO file for 17?
@@mrsonicboy. When it is available, you should be able to upgrade.
i tried the zorin 17, my experience was rather different. there were so many problems especially in visuals like disappearing mouse cursor, and missing so many dependencies and codecs with NO RECOMMENDATIONS of where to get them nor any auto resolve like what some other distros have. i have a simple test when i try out this linux distros, i use a linux NATIVE well known triple a game to test if its "okay" and some several types of video formats. zorin 17 fails all of them at the first try after updating the OS right after installation of the OS. no linux big native games runs. missing many ".so" dependencies. and some video formats dont run on zorin built in media player. and thats AFTER full update. its NOT "out of the box" as it was with the zorin 16.3. the wayland part cause so many problems. for comparison, right now im testing fedora 39, running on THE SAME GNOME base stuff, and WAYLAND, but guess what EVERYTHING WORKS after first update. and to say the zorin 17 will be friendly to old device, well, im testing these on OLD device. and the fedora, which i can say almost like a "twin" to zorin 17 offering minus the ubuntu and snap fare better. i can even run flight gear simulation game on it. XD!! and there is no mouse cursor disappearing.
If someone has older hardware that Zorin OS 17 Pro doesn't run efficiently on, try Zorin OS 17 Core, or Zorin OS 16.3 Core. Or, like me, spend a few dollars to install available upgrades (In my case upgrade the CPU for $40 and RAM $17). This 2012 PC with Zorin OS 17 Pro runs much better now.
Looks like the perfect way to Ditch those damn forced updates and reboot that windows forces on people. I'd like to see how the RasPi pgms run on it... ie.. AREDN Mesh.
File explorer, retaining previous configuration, is the same as windows.
Dark mode looks ok to me
I love the dark mode, but not it changing while selecting different colors. The rest of it is fine.
Your voice is very boomy
Zorin was disappointing ran slow for me couldn't get the printer to work it recognised it in installed but couldn't print anything to much eye candy for me Dark mode isn't nice switched to Debian
👍❤️
I did see on mediafire zorin17 pro but she is no good for Arch work so much nicer
I still do not recommend you to install it on a very low end PC.
I still do not recommend have a low end PC in 2024 😂
@@AlphaDeFcOn4 I don't have now but there are other users that have low end PCs this comment for them if you have a newer pc shut your f*** mouth this is not for you
This russian "OS" is one big backdoor. Enjoy!

This russian "OS" is one big backdoor. Enjoy!
All CPU chips have a built-in back door anyway. Enjoy!
Existence is meaningless. Enjoy!
@fffUUUUUU irish backdoor "OS" thank you.
Why would anyone sane wanted Windows like experience nowadays? Why would any sane person use anything Ubuntu based? If beginner wants to use Linux there is Fedora and other RHEL based distros with decent documentation. Even distros like Solus and Endeavor OS are fine but not this crap. I don't want to use snaps and I use both Windows and Unix based system for more than 2 decades so why would anyone wanted to punish new users?
You are not the target audience.
Snaps aren’t enabled by default on Zorin 17 Pro.
