We did a cruise from Sydney around the top of Australia to Fremantle, if you ever get the chance to do that I think you would love it, we have such a beautiful country, it's worth seeing it. In saying that I've lived all my life in South Australia and I've never been to Kangaroo Island but it's on our wish list.😊

The Sedona red rocks and desert are gorgeous and reminiscent of outback Australia. The stickers are awesome and Tia should definitely use her creativity for some merch! You should do an official Tia for scale with the van exterior! Excited for your next Australian leg, meantime look forward to seeing some van life travelling more of the US! Enjoy!

  • Maybe do the Flinders Ranges, Kings Canyon, then Kakadu before you head west from Darwin for the remainder of the lap to Perth. Those would all definitely be better with something a bit more off-road than a 2WD Mazda. No need to be a 4WD expert, you can still avoid the rough tracks. But for example the road you accidentally took west of Alice can be done in a 2WD but would be more comfy in something with a little bit more clearance (4WD or AWD). Hope your budget is up to it and you get a long visa again!

  • I saw "reckon" in the title & knew was Australia related! Great that you'll be able to complete the lap,the Kimberley Region will absolutely amaze you! If you're looking for other 4x4 offroading ideas - theres the south East Qld sand islands. There's K'gari/Fraser, Strabroke and Moreton. Tip if you do visit K'gari/Fraser Island on the Fraser coast, there's other places of interest around the region too. Including the heritage town of Maryborough - which has a quirky connection to Mary Poppins. It was the birthplace of P.L Travers who wrote Mary Poppins. The old bank building where she was born upstairs, was re named the "Story Bank" and turned into a fun, heritage museum. The crossing lights have Mary Poppins on them too instead of the usual stick figures. There's also an annual Mary Poppins Festival at the end of June lol. If you end up back in New South Wales to see the Blue Mountains, an hour south there's also the Jenolan Caves, the world's oldest known network of open limestone caves. And this one's just completely random info - but there's an area in outback NSW a lot of people don't know about to visit called Mungo National Park/Lake Mungo. An ancient dried up lake system with striking white sand dunes in the middle of the outback. And these strange formations from eroded dunes called "lunettes" - which look like something from another planet. The area has huge cultural and Australian history significance through archeological discoveries that proved that Indigenous Australians had been here for 65,000 yrs. There's also the worlds largest preserved collection of ice age footprints that were found there. It will be early winter in Australia in June, some areas will be cooler than others, be sure to bring some winter clothing so you're prepared, wherever you go. Looking forward to seeing your next series of Aussie adventures - wherever they may take you! 🙂

  • Taking a campervan across the Kimberley’s and the Pilbara in Western Australia would be awesome. I have just finished a road trip to the Grampians from Newcastle via the backroads and it was such a great experience. I don’t know if a campervan would survive the Gibb River road from Kununurra to Broome but the scenery is spectacular. Also you have to experience the float plane trip out of Broome to the Horizontal Falls. It is one the most amazing things I have experienced in my life.

  • I’ve always thought Tia was an amazing artist. You are so blessed to be able to use your talent. I think people not seeing the beauty in any land is knowing the history of the land. I always picture the people that came before. American native villages in the shade of cottonwoods along a waterway with their herds of hundreds of horses. White invaders with only their 2 wheeled carts holding everything they owned going across the country. Families following wagons pulled by oxen. Having to keep moving no matter how close women were to giving birth etc.

I picked up your channel when you first landed in this great land, and have been hanging out for each next update ever since. You bring out the best experiences possible from your travels in other parts of the world without doubt. I’m 70, never been outside Australia, but have travelled the country widely, and there’s still so much I haven’t seen. Whilst we’re in Melbourne, one of our sons is a doctor living in Cairns, so we don’t really need an excuse to head to Queensland as often as possible (and like a lot of Melbournians we share a passion for Noosa, or Sunshine Beach to be more precise). Enjoy being home and amongst family before your next adventure.
