I've been waiting so long for the wireless version of the EC1-A! I hate my scroll wheel, hate my side buttons - but i love my mouse. I'm so excited for this one
This was so interesting to watch, it's very hard to get across how a mouse feels to use and you nailed it here - I felt like I understood the differences between the 2 without having ever touched them. Nice work Techne
Great video man. I love how all of your reviews are honest an unscripted. You are the first KZheadr I would go to for a product recommendation :)
My DAV3 started flexing and creaking more and more through the first couple months. I actually opened it up, and lined the plastic sides with a thin layer of silicone gel. Even thinner layer where plastic pieces connect. Solved my flexing creaking a month+ later. Still feels rock solid. But now my scroll wheel is bugging me. Gets loud and scratchy. Over sensitive despite firmware update. I already opened it up and lubed it with mechanical keyboard lube. Solved it for a little while. So, I guess next for me is installing a TTC Gold encoder. So yeah... it is my dream mouse in a lot of ways, but at its premium price it shouldn't require this much maintenance. I think I'll be happy to move onto the Pulsar Xlite V3 Size 3 when that comes out.
Thanks for the review/comparison. Definitely agree on the “build quality” feel between the two. If Zowie ever makes an official EC1.5 in between the 1 and 2 in size, added proper split trigger switches, and swapped out their shell material/coating for one like either the DA V3 Pro’s or the Superlight’s (which feel much less “glooey”/sticky to me than the EC one) I’d buy it in a heartbeat and pretty much have my dream end game. I have a strong preference for the EC -C variant side buttons/clicks/scroll wheel for games and I slightly prefer their shape to Razer’s here (for example I find Razer has a habit of positioning their side buttons just a bit too far forward for my liking) but my hand size seems to fall right in between the EC1 and 2 so I’m maining the DA V3 Pro for the time being since it’s kinda the best “all rounder” for this kind of shape right now imo. I do wish the back right support hump was a bit wider/more pronounced on the DA V3 Pro since my hands are pretty wide though but that may be a gripe unique to me. “Overall” I’d say Razer did a pretty good job here.
Great review Techne. I have always like zowie mice. They just feel so well built and the shapes are great. It's good to see they are wireless now
After using EC2 wired for several years i went to wireless. Ive tried all the EC2 Clones, pulsar, pwnage, glorious. Now im at my 3rd copy of the Deathadder V3 Mouse. The issues i have had to sent it back was: 1st copy: Scroll bug, scroll encoder too loose. Makes me jump unintentionally while moving mouse ingame. Scroll get stuck inbetween two trigger points and movement make it toggle scroll to do the jump bug. 2nd copy: Started creaking after 1 month of use. Now im waiting for my EC2-CW in the mail. Im done with the Razer quality issues.
Thank you for this honest review. I was really thinking of getting the DAV3 Pro. I'm a Quake and CS 2 player, currently using the Zowie EC2-B which I absolutely love. But I still think I'm getting the DAV3 Pro just to test it and see if I would prefer it. I'll also test the Zowie EC2-WC and see which one will be my favorite. The build quality and creaking that so many people seem to have issues with on the DAV3 Pro is kind of disappointing me, as I'm just very curious about how it feels in my hand. I guess it's time to test.
Idk why but the viper pro and desthadder v3 in the white editions, most have had bad QC. I’ve had 3 white viper v2’s and each has lost wireless connections to the dongle. The dongle will not be detected. There are many others that have had these issues
The problem with the DA v3 pro is they decide on plastic welds. There is nothing they can do to remedy that as over time they loosens and plastic expands etc. I've made a short video that's helped people fix the creak and mouse button issues. I've recently had problems with the back button having a step click before the real click. It's not super noticeable while playing but if you think about it you feel it. I've reworked my mouse button fix from my video but it's essentially the same just a little more refined. Others have posted videos as well. So if all you have is the side creak you're lucky and it's a really simple fix with some painters tape or masking tape etc. The Zowie ec1-cw is FINALLY in stock for me so I just ordered one. Interested to see if I can weight mod it to be around 65 grams without taking away from structural integrity. It's my favorite shape for my wide palms though and finally having it wireless and updated is a dream for me plus the charging dock is a big bonus for me personally.
The DA's missteps with the wheel is the same crap I got in the minis, no doubt. I've come to be pretty sure it's a problem with the axis of the wheel: it either doesn't fit quite right on the actuator or the material is a touch too slippery, so after a bit of time or any speck of dust and it slides. 9, 6, 3, 4 months and it started in my minis. At first it's just once in a while, it doesn't bother. One to two months later it's still rare-ish, but it has bouts of ten minutes of frustration to get the scroll doing as you say. I got this one time, twenty full turns of the wheel to get just one single click down. I almost solved it with a thread around the actuator side of the axle.
Good review. I just got the Deathadder V3 pro black and i don't have this flexing he is describing. Mine is solid as a rock and i love it much better than my old PRo X Superlight. Another thing i noticed is that his black DA V3 pro says "Made in China" on the back. Mine says " Made in Thailand" so it must have been made in a different factory and maybe the quality is slightly different.
I've had the creaking issue on 2 different DAv2 Pro and now it's already starting on the DAV3 sadly
Shape is more important than anything else for sure, I own the DA V3, Xlite V2, GPX White, Pwnage Wireless ergo and many many others, Ive been collecting mice since 2007, im an old CS 1.6 player. Playing csgo of course these days, after having all the latest mice one can buy, Ive found myself back on my old Zowie EC2-A and EC2-C......LMAO, Just waiting for my EC2-CW now.
Which one is better for finger tipping?
I managed to snag an Aerox 5 Wireless with a price match at Micro Center for $75.00 and I love it. It’s personally my favorite ergo-mouse I’ve used and it just fits me perfectly and I’ve tried quite a few. Deathadder V2 Pro, G 703, Model D Wireless, but the Aerox 5 just fits me in a way the others don’t. Shape is king 👑 Anything below 90 grams is light enough for me 🤷♂️
Is it the rear hump that other ergo mice don't have?
I couldn't get used to the Aerox 5. Too many buttons. Ended up with a Kone Pro Air. Highly recommend
@@talksslow8490 I used the kone pro air and its probably my favourite mouse to date, amazing shape great stock feet and sensor, can’t go wrong 👌
I appreciate your longer term feedback on the DAV3.
Do you say the same about DA V3 (wired version)?, regarding the buld quality and crickling stuff?
Which shape of these two do you prefer? Im looking into getting the wired version of one of these, im not gonna spend close to 200usd on a mice, thats just silly. The difference between these two wireless options are 30usd where i live, thats also including tax (170usd DAV3 vs 200usd ec1-cw)
I haven't watched a Techne vid in a while. Glad I caught this one!
thank you so much for swinging back by, hope you do more often :)
@@TheTechne Definitely. Not a lot of people talk about the stinkin coziness of headsets and the vibe of your videos is just great!
Any chance to test the Keychron M3?
will u do asus / aimlab mouse collab please? mby all asus rog ace edition?
I feel like I'm going crazy trying to decide what mouse to buy. Perhaps I will just order an ec and an fk (both wired)
This review was a bit unexpected. I'm surprised by your feedback on the DA build quality..and how the Zowie is basically overall better. Good, honest review. Thank you Techne!
thanks man
my dav 3 came with side creek ive barely used it as a result such a small thing but its so annoying
@@leeBlanchard-cg8pl i think all razer mouse have this issue, happen to my viper v2 pro that side "click"
Bought the dav3 faker and it was a garbage… the battery suddenly died after full charge.
My dav3 have side flexing since out of the box. In the beginning didnt bother much, but after months using it feels terrible. As a former cspro, the build quality counts a lot for me. Even with my performance with the mouse being great, the build quality is pinching my nerves when im playing. I rather going back to my old ec1 lately, with the 90something grams weight, than actually using the dav3 pro. Ive being using ec1 and the v2 wired more than the v3. the pulsefire haste 2 is also getting a lot of hours.
I think ec2-a was the second best ergo mouse I used after MX-518. I don't feel PRO Superlight at all in my hand
Really interesting perspective. I have the DAV3, and mine is starting to creak on the sides as well. At first it was minor, and stopped after the first or second time I pressed in on the sides. However, the creaking seems to be getting a little worse over time. Such an expensive mouse shouldn't creak at all, ever. And I agree with you that the DAV3 should have come with a charging dock. The 4k dongle should have also been included with the mouse. Question: I've always wanted to try a Zowie mouse. Would it be worth it to get the EC2 wireless? I have relatively large hands (20x11.5cm), and my grip style is a hybrid palm/fingertip, or relaxed fingertip. Weight doesn't bother me as much, and the Zowie's would be acceptable. However, I find mice with thin sides to be uncomfortably small, which seems to be the case with the Zowie.
How did you feel about the size of the Dav3? The ec1 is slightly larger, but also shorter at the highest point and wider in the palm. The ec2 is smaller overall with the same hump height as the ec1. Also feels more slender out of the three Ec's compared to the length. The ec3 is basically an ec1 mini. It would be much easier to fingertip the ec2, but with your hand size, you might be able to do the ec1, which I think has the best shape of the 3.
@@FriendNotFoeBand Thanks for the feedback and the suggestion. I've used the Ninjutso Katana Superlight, which is a smaller mouse, but I loved it. Unfortunately, mine developed a problem with spinout. So I can deal more with a slightly shorter or heavier mouse, than I can with a thinner one. BTW, the DAV3 fits my hand really well, but for some reason, I liked the fit of the Katana better, though the coating felt a little so slippery at times, and Ninjutso didn't make grips for it.
Hey, with your hand size I strongly recommend to try Zowie EC1-CW. I've been using mine (EC1-A) for more than 6 years - it fits like a glove. I've already tried DaV3, but it doesnt fit as good as zowie (and i've felt small finger pain after some time). Right now the wireless one in my case is just a matter of time - so please consider buying one for yourself :) My hand size is something between 20,5/21x10,5/11 - so pretty similiar.
@@mrc0093 Thanks for the recommendation. Since you like the fit of the EC-1, and our hand size is pretty similar, I'm thinking I'd be happy with it.
I’ve also had the ec1 for a long long time, and I also got large hands. I’ve been using the pro x superlight for a while, and currently on the deathadder v2 pro now (also waiting for roccat kone pro air to arrive, got it super cheap on sale) and what I’ve noticed is that even though the ec1 fits like a glove, it also limits hand movement. If I were to try zowie again I would most likely go with the ec2 and try to get used to the length/shortness of that mice. For me I feel like 125-127mm in length is the sweet spot.
So that was a common razer i think, that happen to my viper v2 pro, that "click" on the side after 6-7 month usage
for someone who loves the big plump ergo mice. what makes you choose the EC2 over the EC1? is the ec1 too big? just curious since ive been thinking about picking one of the zowies up
For years I was an EC1 users, but then I migrated to Pulsar Xlite because of the wireless, and for FPS games be sure it's better... you have more control of your movements. PS: pulsar xlite is basically a EC2 shape, now I'm buying an EC2 just because I want the base charger.
got the dav3 pro and im liking it with 8k and got no creeks with the white version. full time in cod ranked with it. in the fiture ill get the zowie, i just didnt really know about it at the time and i was interested in trying 8k
What about Ec3-CW?
im thinking of swapping my mice, currently im using my lovly razer deathadder elite, from 2016 and i hackin love that mouse. Im thinking of razer deathadder v3 pro like a younger version of mine
My Deathadder V3 Pro Side creak/clicking/grinding gets worse every month. It really starts effect me in game... it sucks as i have been really good with the mouse and long tournament starts in a week i cant switch mouse or send this back to razer. Hope i dont lose games because the creaking, its currently so bad you can feel it so easy everytime you put hand on the mouse or adjust your thumb position..
i had the same issue. did an RMA got a new one and sold that right after. got my money back because I bought it in germany with promo code. Using the E2-CW and i think I‘m gonna main it. I just try to give the vaxee xe one more chance because it is also the cheaper product but so far it does not look so good on the vaxee.
@@bigpoint58I love the xe wireless
dude, perfect. thank you.
Please review the hyperx pulsfire haste 2 wireless
got the ec3-cw i was between that and the newer u2, i prefered the ec ergo mouse cause i used as main mice deathadders but it turns out it hurts my inner side of my thumb - palm, cant tell if its temporary i guess ill give it a go for a few more days since i went up from deathadder mini which i used for a few months now instead my normal size deathadders, maybe the size diff needs some time, if not unfortunately ill have to either return or sell it, too bad cause the overall build quality is amazing and i like both the switches and coating :/
yeah both of my DAV3 also creaks and for $150 that is unacceptable. It bothers me alot everytime I touch my mouse
is there a big difference in the hand between dav3 and glorious model d ? I am asking only for the feel and not for the performance
Model d feels wider in hand
Steelseries Prime Wireless is also an option? I bought one a few days ago for $40 and I don't know if it was a good buy.
I’m enjoying mine so far. No issues at the moment
whats up with the tattoos?
I'm sticking with my ec2-c until I see it on sale.. might be waiting a few year. 😮
I’ve had my deathadder for a few months now and the right click is mushy and creaky I can’t stand it just ordered a lamzu Atlantis today.Overall dav3 is a great mouse but I can’t stand the mushy feeling.
I bought a DAv3 when it just released and sent it back immediately after I unboxed it and felt the left side flex/creak the exact same way you just described. Love the tech Razer offers on their products, but I find if you can't nail the foundation all that tech ends up feeling like they're just putting lipsick on a pig. Zowie and Razer seem to have the complete opposite design philosophy in that one focuses entirely too much on the basics and the other focus way too much on having the highest specs and forget the basics.
I bought the Death Adder v3 pro, and so far I'm very impressed with it. So much so, that it actually piqued my interest in finding an even more form fitting mouse. Considering I have large hands, I wanted the biggest mouse possible. Everyone seems to suggest the EC1-CW, so I bought one last night and expect it in the morning. Your review gives me hope that I'll have two excellent mice to play with. Only one will stay though. The other gets returned. I'm kind of rooting for the EC1, but we will see.
two of my fav mice
We need you to light a fire under Logitech. All these great ergo mice coming out and they still haven’t revamped the g703 into a superlight form. Sad
razer also has this issue where the mouse clicks can move side to side. its a shame, everything else about that mouse is amazing. but they can't seem to nail the mouse clicks like logitech or zowie
What about the fk series zowies ? I am.think about getting the fk1
ZA
I'd also go for the Zowie for $150 if the build quality will last longer than the Deathadder. 77g is not heavy and you get more stable shots playing your favorite fps games.
I actually performed better with my old 80g Logitech G Pro than I do with my 63g Superlight. It's almost too light for my big hands and my hybird grip.
I feel heavier mice are better to hold shots. I own the prime wireless at 80g, the DAV2pro at 88g, and the G703 lightspeed at 95g. Shape is more important than weight
Have superlight and Viper V2 Pro and I still perform a lot better on old EC2A its shape its weight and clicks are so good.. looking to buy a wereless now
For people with big hands who palm grip, the Logitech g502x is the most ergonomical mouse you can buy.
My dave started to creak too and i dont know why... i havent drop it or anything
small creaks wont matter, its just due to it being so light so the shell isnt as high quality
Every 60 grab mouse I've ever had ended up with creaking/clicking/grinding..... It's always minor but I can feel it....I hate it. I think getting under 70ish is where you start compromising things. Depending on size of course. I think there is a reason why Zowie and vaxee keep the mice heavier. Long term durability..... Especially with these Lil creaks and stuff. Much easier for thinner plastic too flex and creak.
0:31 gaming mice are in a place where it's all about shape and build quality
personally, i havent had any issues on the death adder. it is a little squishy compared to some other mice i have but ive never seen it unless i try to squeeze my mouse. i also dont grip tightly, i have a very relaxed grip. what im saying is, if you monkey grip your mouse (as boardzy calls it), then youll have a bad time with the build quality, but if not, i havent had any issues.
I was taking a look at this and I noticed the Zowie EC2-CW is 76 grams while the V3 pro is only 63 grams so its quite a bit lighter, do you notice the weight difference at all? I also noticed it says only 3200 DPI , seems a bit low there.
did you even watch the video my dude? he actually talks about this extensively.
in same time for the creaking , if you have 15g of plastic in the razer and i pretty sure you have no one !!!
I guess Razer is making Deathadder signature edition after this video
lol, 389$
Damn just now realize the finger tats
Can u suggest me a budget gaming mouse
If you don't mind a wire I think the Razer Viper Mini is the best value mouse. It's a premium mouse for only $45. If you want wireless the Logitech G305 is still a great option and it's only $35.
Coolermaster MM712 it’s a brilliant mouse.
@@Prunesquallor thanks i tried all of this
I actually like the Zowie's weight over the DAv3. I always catch myself over flicking shots with lighter mice in CSGO.
I totally agree, all Razer's product quality are getting worse witch either new product or new batch of current products when they coming out.
zowie ec2-c feels more natural in my hand the DaV3 feels bigger.
zowie mice being so expensive they have to implement the optical switches because within a year of gaming zowie mouse show double click issues which is so sad for a great mouse like zowie, even the cheap razer viper mini has optical switches and it has lasted me so long even with heavy gaming ...................... razer optical switches are really good and long lasting , and zowie should have gone for AA battery implementation because now you have to make your mouse offline for that wireless charging shit even if its for 15 mins and you know lithium batteries have only a certain number of charge cycles like the mobile phones do and that battery is gonna die after say 2 years of heavy usage ........... AA battery will last as long as the mouse is fine aslo zowie 150 dollar for that mouse is too expensive damn reduce the price to 120 usd max
I said it under different com but i think Techne focused too much on creaking and forget to mention the other elements of the build in DAV3 that are better than in EC i personally have DAV2 and yeah it creaks when i push it even not that hard but it is too quiet to hear when i have my headset on while playnig. Also i didnt catch that sound of creaking before i watched this video XD
I've used a lot of mouse and the only one that developed double clicking were the OG G pro wireless and roccat KPU. Click feel is better with mechanical switches, and I will take zowie's click any day of the week over Razer DAV3
Vaxee outset better than both....😎
I cannot fathom why anyone who would take this stuff seriously enough to spend that much on a mouse would go wireless. That's just ridiculous.
I’m a bit stuck between choosing a headset between 3 choices HELP ME! 1. Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 2. Corsair HS80 RGB Wireless 3. Razor Blackshark V2 Pro Wireless Comment if you can leave any feedback so it’d make my decision easier!

If you like Logitech g pro x superlight-👍 If you like razer deathadder v2 pro-💬,Let's check what better
Get the viper V2 pro wireless instead. It's the best mouse ever. Thank me later.
185 € for mouse, just no! It can be good, insane but for that price no..
DAV3 PRO +1
Deathadder would still be my choice I think. Both seem like a win if I'm honest though. Awesome points made. Deathadder for the tech and weight. Zowie for the build and clicks. Techne, please do a 3-6 month later review on the Zowie for quality check. Much love!
Only Zowie.
ZOWIE ! ONLY ZOWIE!
🖐🏽
As long as Zowie still uses the terrible fingerprint magnet coating, I will never buy another mouse from them. My EC2C felt so gross after only a few hours of playing.
Deathadder all the way
Since when did you get all tattooed??? Anyhow, your zowie fan boy is coming through a little too hard.
I dont even need to watch, Razer win, second place Pulsar, than anything wireless ec shape under 100$ and than at the sad end Zowie with their overpriced, heavy, unreliable piece of shit. First version of Pulsar Xlite wireless gave me around 2 frame skips during 1 year i was using it, that Zowie piece of shit gave me frame skip basicly every other day, for this price and with this "dongle" it should be flawless.
Please do not spare your prayers for the thousands of earthquake victims in Turkey...
lets goo im hyped
The ONLY thing that keeping me from using the zowie is that AWFUL scroll wheel for normal use. I don't mind the weight or sensor differences but I use one mouse for everything and work from home so that scroll wheel would kill me for little gaming performance upgrade. Good comparison otherwise, was thinking about the DA but it might be too big for my hands (DA wireless mini when razer lets go).
This is the first time I seen boxing match with one person 😅🫶
