THANKS FOR WATCHING!
90% of my deaths since launch have felt like hard core prefires. Somebody appears around a corner and I die in the exact same instant, no time to react
Jea same
That's cqb for you.
Same . Their sub ticks sucks
Are you a f2p ?
Yep, sub tick sucks (headshots are/were not accurate) and there's no classic deathmatch, only free for all, which sucks also.
They have been too fast with the release.. There is space for updates, but there is also a limit how fast you can release a game..

The only thing that really bothers me as someone who cares about competitive is the subtick system and Valve made sure that the peeker's advantage is now completely ridiculous. It's gotten to the point where u can't even see who shot u, or if they are slow, u can see them for a split second before you are dead. This is really bad because the player always deserves a chance to win the gunfight (Like in CSGO), no matter how small it may be. I think this is something they have to fix as soon as possible.
I honestly feel like a raise to 128t with subtick would bring what we see to being closer to what the server records. A lot of the instances of you dying behind the wall is because the action of them shooting you was recorded between tick 1 and 2 and you're seeing it happen to you at tick 2. With more refreshes even if data is captured between a tick under subtick we should have a more accurate reflection. Valve previously stated that the reason they didn't do 128 tick for mm was that most people didn't have hardware that could handle it, with how much more intensive CS2 is compared to GO, most people should be capable of handling 128 tick servers.
@@__vha While I do agree that it would somewhat improve the game compare to what we have now, I honestly think it should be just one or the other. 128 subtick servers or 128 no subtick. The no subtick imo just feels better. I also don't feel that Valve really cares so much about accessibility as most people think, but also how much money it would cost them to shift over to 128 tick server. This is why they allowed third party platforms to exist. They get to keep the playebase playing the core game while not losing out on money because they are not paying for improved servers.
@@__vhatrue this explanation is so ridiculous. The made the game so more demanding graphically but 128 tick is too much???
@@w4rr0ck_svcksyes 128 tick can be too much At least for my internet And make no mistake. I live in the Netherlands Our providers tend to be bad even with carbon fiber optics. It feels like not only is CS on the right path, but you are too with this outstanding cs Vids lately. Keep up the good work, i see you as an amazing new source of information and content for CS YT :)
Shadows at all levels must always remain on. Never made sense than an enemy can walk in front of a bright light and never see any shadows change. I love this feature, 2nd from new smoke.
met this game in 2019, became instantly engaged with how it played, got over 5k hours, and cs2 just feels really off for me, hope they make it better soon
Yeah man it feels really off right now. I just played some workshop maps in CSGO and the sprays feel a lot better. Really smooth too!
Same here. So disappointed!!!
Same killing players felt much more crisp and clean in csgo
im never an unreasonable hater, but this game is supposed to be played on the IEM sydney event in 2 weeks... first time in 20 years i have no urge to engage with counter strike. it makes me sad. genuinly sad, like a long lasting relationship broke off.
I echo your sentiments
Same, been playing since half life came out in the 90s. Close to 10K hours across all counter strike versions. Now I'm looking for a new game
It's the exact opposite to me. Maybe I'm just looking at the game through rose tinted glasses but it works super well for me. CS2 reignited my passion for CS. Just knowing I can start anew with a new game that can carry my old skill is very reinvigorating. Even if a lot of essential features are not there, I am still happy that the core counter strike is there for me to enjoy. I do wish Valve to fix a lot of issues but I won't start trash talking them (I've seen way too many people do that and I'm sick of it) just because the game is not really that complete. the CS2 team will fix the game, they are passionate and it shows from the almost daily patches, so give them a helping hand with getting the game up to everybody's standards.
@@itzfred I'm a danger zone player....
Best way I can explain it is they have given up competitive integrity and player experience for viewer experience. I have 0 interest in anything CS comp or marketplace anymore. Because they released GO over a decade ago poorly doesn't mean this is ok. They weren't the face of eSports then, they weren't making billions of cases, they didn't have over a decade of information to go off, they didn't remove source forcing people on GO and more.
Subbed, keep doing this videos. Much needed and appreciated!
The dynamic shadows are great, honestly. The priciple remains the same, players just need to learn where and when they give away position. It's true that some shadows can be annoying or unbalanced in some spots, but then the map design is the problem, not the shadow.
Please get on the algorithm. I've noticed a lot of these problems myself before the game even came out, I'm just glad someone like you is pointing them out. Hopefully this gets things patched quicker.

Would be cool if you can shoot the lights and thereby removing the shadows at those kind of spots (or not depending on if they work in your favor or not).
That could actually be cool
You can also make so that defenders or attackers have to go and turn on the lights that are more advantageous to hold certain angles, but putting the switch in a contended area so that it's more fair

Yea, I actually support the new gameplay. What’s bad about it other than having to learn new strategies? So far it’s the only take I disagree with.

i agree with everything except about the shadows, i like them. i feel you should know if your shadow is visible in certain areas and they raise the skill ceiling for the game in general.
The shadows thing has SO much potential. They've got it way overdone in most maps now though.
Also I've had a horrible time solo q-ing in premier mode. The skill is so obviously not well distributed between teammates and I've had situations where I was wondering how was this even possible. I'm faceit lvl 10 and was global in mm but premier consistenly keeps queing me with well, bad players. Solo q is pretty much impossible and unless you are in a 3 stack or even more players it's a nightmare.
Exactly. Valve knows I was global but in the beta i played solo q and got ranked in 4k elo with 50% win percentage and 1.5 k/d. With 100 elo per win I had no interest in grinding 100 games to reach a level I can have a fun game at.
Premier mm was the main reason I couldn't play the beta, every match was pure aids...even got kicked right before we won so I couldn't get my rank (4 stack of trolls)

I have similar experience but i see it as perfectly normal tbh. In 70% of my mm games in cs2 nobody even uses his mic. Neither do i think the game and its mm system is in a perfect state nor do i think that the shown rank has any meaning at the moment. Keeping that in mind prevents me from raging...

Game doesn't come out on time- Valve time Game comes out on time- Released too early Game makes substantial changes- New game is shit, give us old game Game doesn't change enough- It's literally the same game, no reason to care Game launches barebones to iron out bugs and improve core gameplay- There's no new content, release flopped Game launches with a new operation/collection- Valve is greedy and only cares about making money, not the game I completely understand there are criticisms to be made, and they're important for improving the game; Our community still sucks, and no matter what, people will continue to shit on devs/games because it's trendy. I've been dreaming of CS2 since 2017; Love the game, excited for the future, and understanding of the fact some things need to be fixed, but CS2 is actually here, updates are almost daily on weekdays, and it's been a ton of fun.
You described exactly what we all feel in the best way possible. Short and on point! Everything else is great regarding the game and we all hope they get it fixed 🙏🏻😊
Nato is back! I live your last couple of videos.
The largest issue by far is the performance. CS2 is even more CPU limited than CSGO ever was. In particularly heavy moments (Vertigo ramp, mollies, nades, smokes, flashes everywhere, 7~ people is shooting) my FPS goes as low as 47. I've never seen my FPS dip double that in CSGO, triple that in Valorant. This alone makes me not want to play CS at all. Along with dying behind cover, which is partially awful because I'm an extremely aggressive player. I run the game on an R5 3600 @ 4.4 GHz, 3400 MHz RAM and my GPU is not important as CS2 is never able to utilize more than 85-90 percent on 1440p.
3,000 hours of CSS You a real one.
I am so glad I’m not the only one, I get the dying behind walls and poor hit reg due to the new sub tick system a lot but what frustrates me the most is the small 1-2 second lag spikes that takes control of my player model and automatically inputs the button I last pressed about 100 times. (Sort of what you experienced Nato, at 00:37 but for me I still move and see everyone. It doesn’t freeze frame but pretty much same thing) I have 0 control over my character and to others it just looks like I stare straight at nothing and walk forward or left or right when in reality I’m trying to shoot someone or get behind cover or move around the map. It’s frustrating because I see all other players in that 1-2 seconds still moving around perfectly fine and shooting me etc. That’s what I can’t deal with the most.
cs2 awping feels awful...
I find awp flicks feel bad but holding an angle with awp (mostly) hits well. Spraying, bursting, and tapping (after first 3 bullets) all feels awful.
same exact thing bro holding angles no matter how small is insane but flicking and spraying/bursting feels so bad@@Friddle
every round first time i scope the awp the game freezes for 200-300 ms... the sound of the scope is hella annoying, and the scoping itself seems delayed.
same thing but its worse in DM. Every time i spawn it stutters/skips frames on scope.@@coooolibri
I like it always found awp be too powerful so this acts as a nerf, this could be even intended.
Having consistent nades but a more complex environment rises the skillsealng because it takes more effort to get your nades right. You could also say
I can't figure out subtick. Sometimes I feel like every single bullet regs no problem and then other times I'll watch a full deagle mag go right through somebody. That and interp killing me clear around walls or peeker's advantage 100-0'ing me the moment I see somebody's shoulder. And the cheating.... CS2 has been the best ad campaign for Valorant that I've ever seen.
I can't stand both games now😂
"What you see is what you get." **shows middle finger**
I’ve been lucky when it comes to some stuff in CS2 around some issues some others have had. I’ve just felt that shots don’t hit and dying from behind the walls which sucks but I’ve never had the teleporting, crashing or freezing happening but for someone that’s played CS since 2006 and GO since release I had high hopes and expectations but I hope and really really hope that overtime they’ll be able to fix all the issues
Okay, so the nade bounce thing really isn't just me, now I'm reassured
Please , keep spreading the truth. I am tired of receiving shit ton of hate from NPCs who literally don’t understand shit about the game. It’s good to have actually good players like you to tell about the real problems of this game.
Appreciate it, man ♥ I'm not sure if I can keep making videos on these same topics but I also said that before my cheating video and before this one... so maybe I will We'll see ;D
I came here to say this. Casuals are always telling me how the game is perfect the way it is and I'm crazy for thinking otherwise....like bro I might not have 20k hours, but 4k hours is enough to feel that there are things wrong.
Anyone saying drivel like that probably came to CS after it went F2P in 2018. We know how shoddy the game was back in 2013- 15 and it feels like that in a lot of ways. A new era with so much random shit going on that isnt up to the CS standard.
its interesting cuz for me the game has been feeling fine, no lag spikes, no freezing, no shit hit reg and such.
@@misu1g So far i had 5 frozen games and almost every game there is massive fps drops or random stuttery mess. Really hoping they are going to optimize is soon because it is quite frustrating to play now

I agreed with the anti-cheat and server issues stuff but the shadows and terrain hitbox I believe its fine as it is.
nice video once again :)
I have only had 150 hours on csgo but in the 12 on CS2 Ive noticed how shooting felt diffrent and how it felt enemies were sponging them, but the Subtick issue explains my issue entirely
i didnt realize the nades bounced basically randomly everywhere! i was going mental with a T spawn to Bathroom smoke that i swear worked 95/100 times, but would randomly F- off on the bounce, i couldnt figure it out at all
Uhh such a good video. Exactly how I feel about it! Everything is so random and inconsistent.
3:07 Indeed, having live casted shadows is broken and excess aesthetics for CS. In this clip for instance, donut is a good post-plant area to stay in, so having lights there is simply counterintuitive.
I find either I’m missing my targets yet getting kills or perfectly aiming but not even tagging someone
Ive been playing valoeant and I wanted to get into csgo but it had cheaters so I didn't. But then cs2 is revealed. Im hyped and crazy excited and now its kinda underwhelming. My first problem is lag. When in gun fight sbi get huge lag
Sometimes I wonder if server position is off. Once on Vertigo A site had a team mate defuse nearly a meter off bomb while looking off to the side, had wires going in to the floor and nowhere near the bomb. EDIT: Unless they increased defuse range and he held it once it got into it, looked weird though
Can we also get more viewmodel commands/ personal prefferences we had in csgo?
2:09 Yeah Valve really has to fix this asap! 😞
And add cl_righthand 0, arguably the most important thing :D
all of my binds and settings my sens etc is all gone im so upset all i remeber was my original zoom sens i dont rember my sens or viewmodel how do i get it back from csgo
i think that the shadows arent't a problem its just a new thing you have to learn
When u shoot ur frame time is all over the place, and u send some weird information to the server, the server just basically says.. meh good enough, and approves it.
Somehow, since the beta first opened up, my drop key has been unbound every time I've launched the game. That, combined with all of the other issues, just make this feel like a huge beta release that CS didn't deserve to have.
"Release now fix later" can't believe a Valve game fell into this category....
Shadows are cool! Give the players time to learn how to play around them I think shadows have the potential to be a really great feature for both mappers and players. It gives mappers the ability to dissuade a player from using a route in certain situations, especially on ancient and Vertigo i think right now valve is experimenting with how to use these shadows to make the games compeittive scene *more* interesting and we shouldn't dissuade them by making videos calling them an outright problem. Give the game some time! I love these new shadows and even if they arent being used perfectly now they have some great potential!
Exactly, the only thing “bad” about them as far as I can see is having to learn new strategies.
@@Trenchv1 Yeah! Of course not all shadows are gonna be created equal, but I think the reason Ancient and Vertigo have so many light sources is because Valve is trying to introduce to players the idea of playing around your shadow as a new form of depth in your game-plan and positioning.
@@supernicral that’s what I’m saying. It’s really not a bad thing imo but it depends on the perspective.

That G-Man quote at the end
is it only premier that has all the cheaters ? or regular mm q?
Man this is so accurate. I have lost 10+ games to cheaters or annoying errors with the subticks especially in premier mode, so i've stopped playing for now as the game is just not fun anymore
I played 10 games before not being able to queue again because of some missing sound file. Praying valve release an update fixing it because I’ve tried everything
Finally a youtube channel covering actual problems of game rather than how other youtube are covering only about skin
CS2 significantly lowered the skill ceiling - increased headshot hitbox size - follow recoil setting - counter strafe assistance - smokes are larger - smokes last longer - volumetric smoke covers players that are running through a smoke making them harder to see. - model sway favors run&gun (especially mid air) - textures, ie mud, that reduce movement (idc if they reverted the change, valve thought it was a good idea until people complained) - added texture to walls that make utility inconsistent - shadows casted on crucial parts of certain maps - harder to see opponents in low contrast locations (as everything else is high contrast) - harder to see through mollies - bullet hole and nade mechanic in smokes added offensive element to defensive utility (heavily favors T side)
Shadows aren't a big problem really. I already learned most of the spots and where to move by *looking*. Managed to catch people offguard since I wouldn't cast a shadow.
Follow recoil is not that big of an issue

4:34 Valve more than likely wont raise the tickrate. They hard coded the tickrate into the binary so even if you managed to patch the server binary it wouldn't matter.
Tick rate def needs a fix Getting shot on dust behind walls is insane
The subtick issue as far as animations are concerned is simply not relevant to the problem. All it would require is running the client animation at the time of click and the effects that propagate after it hits the server be displayed when they are received.
I mean shadows are okay I just don't understand the need of adding lamps to a lot of maps to make them give your positions away.
Agree with everything but the shadows, they're a great addition to the game.
im glad you adress the problems calmly and not angry like these kids that are mad about. i get it cs2 state right now is kinda bad but we need to be more mature and positive for cs2 to be stable instead of shitting on it. i just hate these people who dont understand the time and development ity takes to perfect something just like what csgo went through. i mean i can see the potenial of cs2 we just need time to fix issues since theres alot.
I have a issue where when i look down to the rigbt my mouse freezes and wont turn my character. Mouse works perfectly fine
subtick is a scam/snake oil. It's simply not how networking works in multiplayer games. It's an excuse to lower the tickrate of the game to be more in line with other multiplayer games and save money on servers.
The fact that it’s basically unplayable on steam deck, their own hardware, is pretty sad. I know people will say “but who would play it on steam deck?” But steam deck works great as a travel gaming device, it can still use a mouse and keyboard but also good gyro aim can be competitive with mouse/kb.
Mac players also couldn't play cs2 due to it being unsupported... such a shitshow
Probably similar to most games nowadays, where: 1. They released the game too early, making it feel like playing an unpolished game. 2. They completely changed what was considered "okay" in the beta and ignored feedback (like some AAA game publishers out there). 3. They release ghost updates on a weekly basis, then lose track of what they are doing themselves and come back to their senses when it's too late. 4. Some core mechanics were missing and/or badly optimized. 5.The "promised" feature turned out to not work decently in their favor when deployed to the public. 6. They release a new patch to fix the old patch that was meant for fixing an even older patch. All in all, I'm still going to play it and hopefully better things will come out from Valve. It's not a perfect game by any means, but it will get better.
The netcode is by far the biggest issue with the game as of right now. I literally see people die behind walls every single game that I play.
people like to make excises for it but i swear its the most frustrating thing avout cs2 (as a new player). Coming from games like apex with 128 tick servers and switching to cs 64 tick the difference is so big. there will be times in cs2 where i get shot and my character rubber bands back to the last server position where i was shot literally teleporting me back from where i am. It throws my aim off, it throws my movement off and completely ruins the integrity of gun fights.
@@pineapple6567 I know, it's awful. 64 tick isn't the issue, 64 tick CSGO wasn't this bad at all, I think it has to do with subtick.

I wish they would tone down the RNG bullet spread on the AK. It's ridiculous how inconsistent it is -- even while crouched and one-tapping.
This is gonna be a big text trying to explain my conjecture about the real problems with the subtickrate and the delay in the animations. I hope someone with better understanding of this topic can find holes in my reasoning, if not, subtickrate is probably not viable: As far as I'm concerned, all the shooting in csgo was calculated through tickrate (along with the animations), meaning that in csgo 64 tickrate the real fire rate of an ak was about 550rpm=(1000/64)*7=109ms+-; and in 128 tickrate the fire rate was closer to the ideal 600rpm, at 594rpm=(1000/128)*13=101ms+-. This explains mathematically how ropz nailed the difference between 128 and 64 tickrate by only hearing the fire rate. If that is true, which I think it is, and knowing that there is a proven desync between registering and animations, this could mean two things if the firerate of an ak is set to 600rpm as it was described in the csgo version: 1. The spray feels awful and eternally inconsistent because each bullet from the spray (aside from the initial delay of 0-15ms in the animation after the first shot registering that we can prove), would be adding 9ms to the desync because the animation is being represented like in csgo, every 109ms. Meaning that your 10th bullet is desynced between 90 and 105ms. 2. Valve thought of this and made it so if the desync is more than one tickrate long (15ms), it would display the animation one tick earlier than it should. This would make the firerate inconsistent and also feel awful as you are at the mercy of rng anyways. I hope someone can debunk my conjectures, and if they are correct that they tell me which option of the above is the one we got. Anyways, I don't think any of the cases are particularly good or could ever make spray feel as consistent as csgo. Then the only option for valve to fix this is make animations client sided, which seems to be the logical one, then who knows what kind of gamebreaking problems this could have, but at least we need to test it. Anyways i'm fed off with subtickrate, I see more problems than solutions with this technology. Yeah maybe in csgo we needed to wait up to 15ms for the server to register and we seeing the animation, but at least it was predictable and you could get better. We traded the option of getting rewarding gameplay for up to 15ms of accuracy in the shooting (first bullet obviously, as you would be praying to the rng gods to don't have too much delay with the next bullets on your spray). Seriously, we didn't need that precision, 15ms of inaccuracy was barely noticeable, but even then you could play faceit and have only 7.5ms of inacuraccy. Now you just play for onetaps because it's the most reliable style. I hope this is not the hill where valve dies
To deffend shadows: you can balance the game/map positions that are too strong with shadows by giving information to the weaker peeker. And it’s sth new to learn for positions and avoid certain courners
cringe, imagine not being able to push an area because the enemy knows exactly where you are before they see you Go play rs6
I think that audio is also a problem. In its current state its very confusing
That shadow thing is actually annoying as shit for a guy that doesn’t play ranked non stop, noticed it quite fast and it’s in so many areas
0:41 This shit is happens to me so much i cant even understand the game mechanicas anymore. It happend to me in csgo also but in much lower situations than cs2. And every match i play i have 80 ping now like wtf
Learn what shadows sells you out, period. New game, new learning curve
This is more of an Open Beta than a Full Release
I for one think some rng on utility is a good thing. It allows new opportunities and options instead of the same damn thing every single round.
I think the stagger when you get shot is a bit to strong too
I can't believe a game so old in terms of gameplay simplicity and so many testings, can have miserable bugs like broken grenade throwing or shooting camera angles...
I have had fps problems since the beginning. On dust 2 i have below 60 fps in certain areas.
The most blunt criticism is essential as CSGO can no longer be played. "go play csgo then" isn't an argument that can be used to shut down criticism. Valve need to be very aggressive with their development of this game (and anti-cheat), especially when it's their most popular game. The grenade bounce problems were a huge surprise when I encountered them. You would have thought each map would have some sort of "collision map" just for grenades. I haven't put that much time into CS2 but I've had multiple HE Nades bounce back at me from an angle to damage me and my teammates.
Well said! Makes me wonder, how much more expensive is 128tick server cost compared to 64 tick? Why can Valorant afford to run on 128 tick and Valve is so hesitant on making cs2 128tick. At this point it feels like subtick was never meant to improve gameplay but to improve the margins for a already super profitable game.
No, subtick is meant to bridge the gap. Instead of brute forcing it, it targets the exact problems and applies fixes where is needed. In theory of course, there's still problems. In s perfect world though - it's working smarter, not harder. The Battlefield series of games has done similar things throughout its games. They drilled down into what specific instances there were, where sending more data made sense and solved those, rather than just throwing more and more data at it. The result was good, and allowed them to add things like synced destruction and 100+ players. The idea of doing it this way is sound.
@@Cimlite Instead of giving us 128tick and an anticheat, the only 2 things the community has been asking for 10+ years You release subtick in a broken state and a non existent anticheat. Instead of starting everyone from 0, which essentially puts completely new players and literal pros in the same lobby Yes yes, it will all be fixed in 1-4 years. Sure. Personally I like shadows, though they could be toned down a bit (unranked noob)
Shadows are cool the rest i agree, i mean everyone got to deal with the same shadows in same locations
I do agree on the subjects of lag, cheaters, tick rate and bugs. However, for the shadow part, I believe this is part of the game and an enhancement of what was already in CS:GO. It is a game mechanic on it's own and it will be up to the player to be aware of that to not be in a disadvantageous. I'm afraid that the community will be too reluctant to the changes that CS2 has already brought / will bring despite the fact that CS2 is a new game.
