Easy upgrade for your dewalt jobsite table saw. The miter gauge that comes with the saw is very basic. This video will show you how to upgrade your miter gauge for cleaner and safer cuts!

Bought this for my friend for his birthday, and he loves it. Father-in-law was a little jealous, even. :) Built solid, but light enough to move around for projects. Easy to use kzhead.infoUgkxPeGkHOMe05FySypTOvYumxMn-xi39oRe and makes great precision cuts. Doesn't come with a laser mount, but the fence is straight as an arrow and if you measure carefully, it's not a problem. Can handle dimensional lumber with ease, but of course, there's a limit to how thick. Handled a 4x4" post without a problem, but 4x6" we had to flip and cut twice. Only thing we've noticed is make sure to tighten the nut that holds the saw blade when you take it out of the box and maybe check up on it occasionally. For some, this is probably a no-brainer, but we neglected to do this and a few months in, found the motor running but the blade spinning at about half speed or less. Tightened the nut, and problem was solved. Very happy with this purchase. Dewalt makes sturdy stuff.
Looks like your glued parts came apart when you inserted a screw to hold the t-track.
I love quick projects
Thought I had two videos playing at once. But it's just the voice-under playing along with the music.
Best thing to do with that DW mitre gauge is to put it in the garbage and make fixed 90 and fixed 45 using some hardwood offcuts. Basically make your own slide and thoroughly fix a cross piece to it. Needs some skill and thought but the angle won't slip part way through a cut like the DW mitre gauge does.
Can I ask what the purpose of the blue strip of aluminium is for? Any tips for the slight bit very annoying wobble in the guide slot?
Thanks
Hope it works well for you!
Thx
Thanks for watching!
Hi Thanks for the video, so this will restrict your miter gauge only for 90 degree cuts, right? It would be cool to see the thing in action for a little bit at the end.
If I was to make an angle cut, I just use my miter saw. You could also make another miter gauge for angled cuts.
No info on the size of the miter gauge or the miter slot. Can you please advise the depth and width of either of these parts. Many thanks.
I just used the miter gauge that came with the saw.
2:48 Oh sh-t. It split.
Your info was great but please lower the music. Also it doesn't match theme of the information. I've been in the video production business for 40 years, and this is only meant as constructive criticism. I loved the upgrade
but can you read the gauge now with that handle?
We all had to start somewhere........
Yep.
Why would you glue the boards and THEN screw them together? As others have said, without addressing the sloppy fit of the gauge in the DeWalt track, you have built in errors.
Thanks for watching!
Didn't he say he did that so he could route out a groove for the track?
Good ideas can’t fault you there but using mdf as the material to do it wasn’t great,
Thanks! I just used a scrap piece I had in my garage, but you could use any scrap you have.
Very good video but 👎 on the annoying music-same notes over and over.
Thanks! I have stopped using music in my videos because of this reason
@@Ben.Builds. Thank you! I WILL subscribe.
@@harrypowers9412 thank you!
Cut the music not needed
Unfortunately KZhead won’t let me edit it. All my new videos don’t have music because I ran into this problem on two of my videos where the music is too loud.
Okayish project, work and videography, but is that F-in intro LOUD ENOUGH?
Please reconsider your intro music. I stopped watching because of it.
I know. I wish KZhead would let me upload some new audio. I have since stopped adding music to any of my videos
@@Ben.Builds. great content. Thank you for getting back to me. Sorry to be a KZhead Karen. Keep killing it.
The music made the video unwatchable. Way too loud
Ya unfortunately this video was made when I first started and KZhead won’t let me edit the music on this video.
Seems kind of like putting lipstick on a pig Since you didn’t address the sloppy fit of the mitre gauge in the tabletop grooves. Otherwise it’s a nice upgrade...does it still store with the saw
Ya that was Dewalt big mistake with this saw. I have no solution other than what I have seen other guys do... which is just putting painters tape on the miter gauge. It does not store on the saw once you put the larger push surface.
@@Ben.Builds. Incra - Miter Gauge 1000HD has adjustments to make the fit much more snug ... a little pricey, but it can be transferred to whatever table saw I buy next
@@kennnva551 thanks for the tip. I need to look into that. The dewalt miter gauge is pretty loose.
Fail
Waste
of scrap wood? No such thing.
