I’d love if @carthrottle did a scrap car challenge where they save 3 cars from being scrapped and find who has the best car and who can make it better.
Ur a genius
basically every video lol
This is what im going to start my series on with my Mini Cooper S :D
@@redlinemayhem8961 I'm curious to see that now :D
Get Robert Llewellyn on for a Scrapheap Throttle collaboration
Put a diesel generator on a trailer and run it as a hybrid. would be interesting how much MPG you get 🙂 And I also like the idea of a RC G-Wiz
YES!!! Generator time!
It will be how much the generator does mpg not the car
Given the whole war thing in the east. Fit it with a big gun and call it an RPG-Wiz.
Dave Sparks did a similar thing on his channel, threw a generator (or two) on the roof of a little electric vehicle. 😂😂
It would be interesting to see it kiss a wall at 31 miles
17:00 that is legitimately the most CO2 releasing EV i've seen
Probably the most co2 releasing car for some seconds

Long distance trip with Gary sounds like some proper entertainment 🤣
too bad these are not allowed on motorways or national speed limit roads (60) as they are not able to reach that speed... and because they are deadly...
A long distance trip in Gary is anything over 5 miles.
Wait it’s not even allowed on a 60mph single carriageway?!
Got no idea 🤣

I would love to see the G-Wiz converted to LiPo batteries like some Tesla or Nissan Leaf cells, I can imagine that old brushed motor can take some serious amps!
They actually make 48 v drop in LiPO batteries that you set up in parallel for more capacity. With 8 of them in that car it would rip, and for a long time!
Li-ion*
@@873Project this. They talk about lithium ion batteries. Not lithium polymer.
The original company actually did make a version of this car with LiIon batteries called the L-ion...didn't improve the performance any but did jack the range up from 50 miles to 75.
There's a video of someone who did it.
I'd love to see this as a drag electric car (sorry quadricycle) Small cage big power electric motor, what could possibly go wrong
I’m sure top gear had one on ages ago
Is it quadricycle or quadrocycle or quadracycle tho? pronounciation might be the issue here.... :D
@@Duxhorne @calvinscardiary has the exact one now and made it green
Drag race Tesla plaid
We shall call it... E-Roy
I’m personally grateful to the G-Wiz, since I owned an Austin Allegro (my dads old car I inherited) so I only had the second worst car
6:18 I'm surprised no one is talking about when Alex said you can sit in between me not for the first time 😂
This seems like the perfect car for Jack to do a 24 hours in a car challenge I think.
This HAS to be the top comment
Yes 👌
As a lover of old bad electric cars. I would totally pay 400 for that. It's in much better condition than the citicar I was looking at for that price. Next up, lithium swap, bigger motor and controller, doughnuts.
Have you watched the top gear episode when they did that?
keep in mind the batteries are like 2 grand
@@kaptein1247 well it would depend what kind and how many cells you want.
@@oldtechnobodycaresabout If you can deal with even less than 50 miles

I work on forklifts for a living and it was so weird to see the same motor controller you’d find in an electric forklift, and hear the same click from the contactor engaging when you turn the key… though I’m sure the motors in my forklifts have a bit more power 😂
17:00 - Love the irony of blasting out a load of CO2 from an electric car.

@asterixxer old minis are only death traps if you roll them. Or get rear ended. Or t boned. Or have a head on.... Okay they're death traps in all sense. But you have to remember they were put into production in 1959. The G-wiz was put into production in 2001... that's 42 years of safety development that they just didn't bother with
coming from the country that made the reliant robin.....
@@douglaspealing5608 and guess what. there are still quite a few cars sold in India (including weaker/cheaper built but current gen models of suzuki, hyundai/kia) that are only a bit safer
@asterixxer 6-7000 Euros? The G-Wiz was sold for 13,000 Euros with lead batteries and 23,000 Euros with lithium batteries.
@@AIDANPEREIRA I'd take a mini over most small cars, even now
Love how much Ethan has grown and changed in these videos, proper main character energy now fucking love it 💜
Gary needs to be a targa top or ragtop for headroom. Oh and a slim system in the boot playing big exhaust noises.
I’d like to see it on some JDM 10” wheels, lowered with a nice paint job. Full interior refurb too.
That’s called rice lol

Budget ELECTRIC off roader: Make it in to an electric off roader! Raise it, new tires, lights could be cool. I reckon it might be able to do something because it’s so lightweight. Off roading is pretty slow so the crash test results can be forgotten of (:D), but maybe build a roll cage as well just to be safe!
The roll cage would just push through the roof or through something
@@aaroncable340 exterior room cage - exoskeleton :)
I absolutely love how proud ethan was with the V5 joke 😊
lowered, wide over fenders with wide wheels, steering mods, bucket seats ditch what you can for weight and do some before and after track and range tests then go to a specialist to mod the drive system 😁 be a great death wagon.
I have a neighbour who has one where I live and he uses it almost daily to go to the village shop and to see family and friends around the village, he only needs to charge it a few times a week. We get snow quite a lot here and for that reason the vast majority of people have Land Rovers, this guy uses it when we get snow and because it is so lightweight and underpowered it kinda glides along the snow without getting stuck like a normal car. Last year some people (who presumably had been on their way home from the pub to the hotel as they woke the whole village up in the night) actually lifted it and put it in the middle of the road. That might sound funny and if they hadn't have damaged it then it would be on the cusp of being a funny sort of prank, but they also came back later in the night and smashed the windscreen on it.
Love to see all 3 of you guys doing a long distance journey in this to see if it'll make it to a certain point using charging points up and down the country lol
Not a bad idea but the insurance would probably be too much with lack of safety and big suvs about and hgvs tho it would be more of a test of Britain's tow trucks too be honest
This needs a bike engine, imagine seeing/hearing this thing screaming at 15.000 rpm.

I'm sure the occupant would be screaming even louder. It's probably the only thing on the road more dangerous than a bike.
brilliant lads, thats the kinda content i love to see
I would love to see Ethan try his hand at bodywork to reprint the whole car.
I would say roll cage but it might have to be on the outside! Not sure what you'd attach it to as I don't think there is anything solid to bolt it to.
Just bolt the roll cage to the roll cage itself and make an exoskeleton
External roll cage, suspension spacers, 4x4 wheels, and you got a battle car
I think with this little shitbox, you would say, “bolt the car to a roll cage”
This thing looks like it would be a lot of fun for booting around a large private property. Can't wait to see the hypermiling video! After that maybe try some mods to improve performance. 😂

I once watched 4 dressed up young lasses in their maybe early 20s pile into one of these on Harley street in the middle of London once late at night while i was waiting in a company van for a night job. was amazed they all fit!
The G-Wiz is fine if you view it as a sort of enclosed electric moped. It's there as a way to cheaply commute to work or the shops. It's absolutely not there for pulling crumpet or setting lap records.
Try to transport a full height fridge and see how it affects range. I know, I know, it won't fit. That's why you'll need a tow bar and a trailer, this should be fun.
I reckon theres a whole heap of things that would be awesome. track build - cage, springs, brakes, stickers, tyres and bike engine swap off roader - fog lights, lift kit, chunky tyres drop top - slam it, big wheels, fancy paint and cut the roof off Either way, Can't wait to see what you do with it!
i proud that thing still runs. there are new version of the gwiz in uk. its called mahindra e20. try that. you can refresh it. do testing around the city.
I can't wait to see Alex, Ethan, Jack and Gareth all together inside Gary. Here is an idea for *THE ULTIMATE GARY CHALLENGE* - do a lap of the Nordschleife with Gary. It's really arguable if it will make it. To add spice and i'm sure track officials will almost certainly NOT allow that, but you can try asking politely - make the lap with all 4 of you inside. It will be hilarious AF.
Very cool choice of car I must say 😎
Get a collab done lads!
But you had one first . one up for calvins car diary
HAha I was going to send you this saying they stole your idea. Yours is better.

It is a joy to see the evolution of this chanel.
Love it! If Ethan was a car it would be a G-Wiz that car sums him up perfectly haha

I think you guys have to do a road trip in Gary, possibly to mid Wales. I would like to see how it handles the mountains, and the range anxiety would be fun to watch!
I'd love to see it lowered on some 6x13 or 6x14 wheels, nice paint job and than take it for a long roadtrip.... ... sure, you don't get far in one day but it does give you time to explore the area you are in and maybe find some nice places

I you turn the knob to F and pull. You get F-Plus (Sport Mode) for the full top speed.

Gold steeeliees for sure maybe some sprayed britsh racing green and if ur cray roll cage and wide body
2:53 someone was brave to drive it 9771 miles. I would have shot myself..... twice, before that amount of mileage was clocked up
More powerful electric motor, some good tires and take it to the track. Probably wouldn't hurt to upgrade the brakes and suspension a bit.
Looking forward to seeing you pull a stoppie! It’s got potential 😂👍🏻
Man I remember seeing these things all over in the early 00's. Had a sneaky peak at it's MOT history like. So are we in for a fun video (or 10 ) lined up :).
You need to link up with Calvin’s car diary Gary and Kermit would be hell of a pair 🤣
I would love to see it fitted with a 1000cc bike engine and gearbox.
And a roll cage, more because I think the engine and gearbox will take the driven axle with them and leave the rest of the car behind on the first launch
There is one in India with a busa motor
wrap, spoiler, spinners, give it the full tuning look. never gets old
This is at culham near Abingdon. I’ve been working in the science park for a few months. Wish I’d seen this being filmed
To be fair, the design make it look like it’s already been in a crash test.
Even in India, people who bought these were just people who had money burning a hole in their pocket. I see these on the road very occasionally, even now.
There is one in my area just sitting abandoned.
£10k for this is absolutely not cheap - anyone who bought one new must have had more money than sense.
Maybe take Gary Autotesting. Its small, relatively light, instant torque, shifting forwards to reverse is easy, doesn't need to get above 30mph anyways and could finally give the G-Wiz some Motorsport Pedigree!
wish you could test some Lithium converted Gwiz. Those have the same acceleration of a 250cc 2 STROKE motorbike...cheers
That intro 😂
That's awesome! Would love to see it faster. A bike engine or maybe even just a better electric motor?

2 seconds in and I know I will enjoy watching this. great work guys, great idea.
You should do hypo miling, see how short a distance you can run the batteries out for a full charge
Brilliant boys. Personally, i think you should slam- and tune it + bigger wheels! All on budget, of course. Don´t know how many horses you can give a G-wiz without it breaking, but as much as possible should be the goal! Finally do a track day or similar if it gets fast enough.
I would love to see this gem on te37’s and slammed. To hyper miles I believe you should be able to achieve more than a mile. Good luck

I think an electric car vs public transport episode would be a good idea being as we're now encouraged to buy electric vehicles. With Ethan driving Gary of course 😉
I own electric vehicle mate it would not be a good ep . Mine got one of the best ranges but you go 70mph it's not even half you can't use the heater to demist the window or warm the vechile up with losing alot of charge . So useless is a race around a city at 30mph the whole video will be him charging the thing up

G-wiz set a NCAP record, having a crash into a deformable barrier. The barrier stayed perfectly still. The reason it's been banned from the motorways, was the driver, who got killed in a collision with an oncoming bird. The bird recovered after two monts in animal shelter.
