    • Practicing lead bending skills is useful in many repair builds, let the man perform his art! It won't last forever, but it will look incredible while it's here! He has inspired me to make this circuit on my own as I have the components handy, but I will be using a breadboard, myself

  • Nice but I would have used the carry out of the first 4017 as a clock signal to the second 4017 and suppressed a 555.

  • Okay, I think I figured out how the color change works: you used the transistors as inverters to connect one color line to ground at a time depending on which one gets the signal from the second 4017. The switch changes the clock input of the second 4017, from between the second 555 and the reset line from the first 4017, so in mode one the colors flash independently from the first half of the circuit, and on the second mode they change each time the reset pulse is reached.
