The Amazing Spider-Man had the wrong villain (so I fixed it).

After the success of both "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and "Across the Spider-verse", there's been a growing demand for more stories featuring Andrew Garfield's turn as the character.
But upon rewatching, I found that while it was definitely a fun and fresh take with many welcome elements, "The Amazing Spider-Man" had some issues that kept it from truly living up to its namesake.
So, in true Marvel fashion, we're going to play a game of "What If?", where-in I reimagine and rewrite the Amazing Spider-Man to turn an already good movie into something greater. Enjoy!

  • Fun Fact: In the original book, Jekyll was in total control as Hyde because Hyde was less of a personality and more of an alternate identity which he could use to indulge in various things which were considered taboo in modern society at the time. After murdering people as Hyde, Jekyll decided to no longer become Hyde because he was now a wanted man. Unfortunately, Jekyll began to transform into Hyde despite not taking the formula, with all attempts at finding a cure ending in failure. Jekyll locked himself away in his lab which is where the whole split personality thing truly began to take effect as Jekyll desperately tried to mentally disassociate himself from his chemical alter ego. Ultimately, Jekyll comitted suicide, unwilling to face the consequences of Hyde's actions. Bit of a gripe of mine when people compare split personality conflicts to Jekyll and Hyde when that element wasn't very prominent at all in the original story. But alas, modern interpretations have pretty much spread and cemented the idea within the collective mind that Jekyll and Hyde was all about split personality disorder rather than a warning about using anonymity to indulge in depravity.

    • While I have read the original story, I can't help but admit that I find the more "popular" version a bit more compelling. Though I TOTALLY get how you feel when it comes to Frankenstein. The original story of Frankenstein is so much better than the "gentle giant" version. Interestingly enough, the Hallmark channel made a TV movie of Frankenstein that, according to several literary and horror experts, is the most accurate version of the story put to screen. Who knew the Hallmark Channel had it in them?

  • I love this rewrite, despite the original being my favorite Spider-Man flick but I love the ideas and how you present them. It’s refreshing to see Spider-Man fighting crime when Uncle Ben is still alive. You made a video that deserves the amazing title.

  • Good video, I would tweak the web shooters because I do agree on how organic webbing is better. What I would do is have Peter have organic web, but have trouble shooting web that you can swing. The web shooter can help his webs come out differently, such as web bombs or web patterns.

  • this is a really fresh take on the tasm rewrite videos out here! theres clearly a lot of setup and planning with the plot and not just it ticking boxes with comic book events (no offense to them tho)! Two things I would note however is that the structure of this feels more like a tv show pilot than a movie! which isnt a bad thing because I would really enjoy a tasm show in all honesty. Second is that I feel as if you held back a bit more with characterizing Gwen's character, seeing as she ends up revolving more with aiding spiderman and not just going for her own thing! I would really love to see a sequel to this version of events and see how it develops further! Kudos

  • Well I kinda like the first movie especially with the Lizard because I didn’t know who Rhys Ifans was until movie came and I would definitely think the second movie needed a lot of change especially since that first one I got the impression that they were Building up Norman instead of Harry because of this mysterious Gentleman in the shadow who I really think should have been Norman as he has that Willem Dafoe impression or maybe he could have been Mysterio or Roderick Kingsley aka the Hobgoblin who maybe should have been instead of the Osborns again here’s what you need to know kzhead.info/sun/qM-cqbmXqaBjeK8/bejne.html as for Electro I would have gone for the No way home look instead of what we got because I don’t know why I like the green and yellow maybe the blue was just too bland and I would have gone for Matt Letscher as Electro but I also saw that movie Baby Driver where Jamie Foxx was menacing in it, Rhino should have been played by a bodybuilder like Steve Austin or Bill Goldberg as you said about not feeling Sympathy for this Harry Osborn I never felt any for James Franco’s because I always felt that he was nothing more than an obstacle and only exist to Spider-Man the inability not to arrest Norman as the Green goblin and is only holding him back because if you saw No way home where Sandman says that everyone knows that Norman was the green goblin then if was true then Peter was definitely wasting his time and covered up a crime which he never should have done so if that was then Harry really is a fool,a hypocrite and an incel because that whole avenging his father thing was more like an excuse and it was all about MJ where he is dangerously entitled to her like Titan from Megamind which is why I prefer Damien Anderson from Creed 3 over him because his hate was understandable. You forgot to mention the Cheetah from Wonder Woman 1984 who is like Electro and this Green goblin combined. You know about the 2015 fantastic four movie they also had the villain because it seems like these movies have a lot in common like say the Chronicle movie influence because that could be the reason why they brought in Harry Osborn because of his performance in that movie and I have a few suggestions for the 2015 fantastic four movie to what villains they should have used instead of Dr Doom again 1. Red Ghost and the super apes remember the cgi chimpanzees well how about replace for the Red ghost and the super apes because their origins in the comics is very outdated because of the Cold War. 2.Annihilus and Blaststar because that’s supposed to be the negative zone and that’s where they live 3.Moleman because Tim Blake Nelson’s character was originally going to be 4.the Frightful Four which I think that Wizard and Trapster are owned by Fox I think and replace Madame Medusa and Sandman 5.the Mad Thinker because that who played Doom is more Mad Thinker than Dr Doom Check out this kzhead.info/sun/m5R8c5SnZ3WLoGg/bejne.html because this is the only beginning

    • Yeah, the part where you said that Sandman says that Everyone knew Norman Osborn was the Green Goblin, So answer me this, HOW DID SANDMAN KNEW THAT NORMAN OSBORN WAS THE GREEN GOBLIN IF HE WASN'T IN SPIDER-MAN 1?! Like how did Flint Marko knew that Norman Osborn was The Green Goblin if never met the guy in the first movie?! That's part is nothing but a throw away line. You should never add throw away lines that make no sense.
