I use to hang with Jim after training! We use to go to a restaurant called "The Good Earth" in Marina Del Rey! All the athletes would go there after their workouts! Because the food didn't have a lot of sodium ! I can still see Jim in his tennis outfit always! He was so cool and laid back! You would never know he was such a badass! Always low key and super friendly! I miss those times and Jimbo sooo much! Rest in peace Jim I will always remember you and those times! May you're memory be eternal! You're old pal J... To be continued some day!....

He was a hero of mine back in the 70's when I was a boy in a Canadian town of about 5,000. I would collect bottles from ditches to make enough money to see him at the afternoon matinee. Ha, and my mother never knew about it.
Always a fan since I was a child. Him and brother Carl Scott, Steve James. All are underrated.

Okinawan Shorin Ryu? No... Okinawa -Te Karate under Shihan Gordon Doversola (R.I.P.). I'm a student and family member (Son in Law) of Mr. Doversola. While training at the Okinawa-Te dojo in Eaglerock I remember the photo Shihan Doversola with Jim Kelly standing together. There were other photos he had of Joe Lewis, Henry Silva and Lowell George from the music band Little Feat to name a few.
,☺️ Was he the One in a Movie that said Man You Come Straight Out Of a Comic Book.. Love Me Some Jim Kelly🙏🏽🕊️🕊️🌹🌹♥️
Despite all that fitness he dies early compared to a lot of people. There's no Guarantees in life I've learnt that one. Very sad about him.
fitness is only one aspect of staying well. There are many others that have to be practiced too, like reducing stress and protecting ourselves against toxins in the environment and even in our own bodies. Everything we do seems like a risk , but we really just have to count our blessings, be grateful and keep moving .Peace!

So true...John Saxon didn't look or fight like anybody with a martial arts background!- more a Roger Moore ladykiller. But Jim Kelly, in his brief role in ETD, stood out in the character artists ensemble! "Man, you're straight out of a comic book...!"
Rest in heaven Jim Kelly 🕊️

🙏💐 RIP💐🙏 ❤🙏MR. JIM KELLY❤️🙏😊
RIP❤🌹🙏
Like the previous comment, I met Jim Kelly at a restaurant near Pico and Overland called Earth, Wind and Flour in the early 90’s. He sat in the booth next to us. I whispered to the lady I was with, “that’s Jim Kelly. She said, “Who.” “Jim Kelly,” I repeated. Anyway she was clueless. As a rule, I don’t approach celebrities and living in LA since 1980, you tend to see some occasionally. But, this is JIM KELLY. My childhood John Wayne. Black kids didn’t have many (probably zero) black action movie stars in the 60’s. It wasn’t until my early teens we were able to start rooting for a black kick ass hero. So, after my date and I finished our meal I introduced myself and complimented him on his work and how much I enjoyed it as a kid and he was very polite and soft also looked very good, fit and healthy. I was very surprised when he passed. Looking back on his movies as a working writer now, they are pretty cheesy but I’ve met many celebrities my 40 years in LA, but meeting JIM KELLY is by far one of the most rewarding. Thanks for being a part of 3 popcorn action packed theater going movies in a row and only for a dollar memories. RIP Jim Kelly.
He had a good life. He was my dream boat when I was a kid. 😆
I loved his role in Black BeltJones with Gloria Hendrix. Also in Enter The Dragon man you come straight out of a comic book.
I heard he had an incident in his Crenshaw dojo with a BKF member that resulted in the closing of his dojo
I'm sure the video is lovely but the A.i voice is really annoying
Cool video. Thank you. I hate robot narration though.
Great athlete too
In the movie enter the dragon Bruce Lee should have let jim Kelly and John Saxon take over the island together that would have been something, still one of my favorite great movie, rip to all three of them Bruce Lee, John Saxon, Jim Kelly, legends
