The GOAT Of Routines?? I Tested Novak Djokovic’s Morning Routine
I met arguably the Greatest Tennis Player of All Time recently and tested out his morning routine.
Novak Djokovic is known for how well he takes care of his mind and body so I was really intrigued to find out how he starts his day!
How does your morning routine compare?

Novak needs a podcast. Lots of what he says is applicable to just living well off the court
Agreed! He’s incredibly interesting to listen to!
He doesn’t need it. We need it. Grammar English mistake.
@@4lugan He's busy winning slams right now. Maybe after he retires he should become an inspirational speaker
So true
Yep. He's a huge Jay Shetty fan anyway. @@yp9199
I love Novak! Have been his fan since he was a little boy and followed his career.... Go for it Nolle... I'm 87 years old but wiil hold thumbs for you❤
Novak is such a legend, I love him so much! I appreciate you sharing this!
Thanks man Love from Novak fan ❤from India
What an incredible experience that must have been! Thanks man for sharing it.
It really was… I’ve been very fortunate recently!
This is a great video. Novak is such an inspiration. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Thank you for this video! For about 2 months I have been practicing a morning routine that includes meditation and breathing and it really helps me to have more energy and to be able to organize my day. And regarding Djokovic, for me personally, he is an exceptional person and athlete.❤
You posted this a long time but I wish I could start a routine like this to improve my day and have more energy do you remember what you did in it ?? And could you tell me please🙏 thanks a lot
Very interesting comments about trying to remain in the present. Using breathing to release stuff that's gone, or 'what if ' in future, and get back to the now. Very handy to use in matches where the mind becomes VERY busy. Great content.... again... THANKS
Yes, it was a brilliant talk. He has such clarity of mind on court!
Thanks for this❤ Novak is great human being on and out courts, live Him❤
As my view , the cruicial part of your presentation was direct speech to auidience from Novak on tennis ground. Literally his speech was so simple and deeply accessible to people who was inspired by him.
Good video. I know about conscious breathing but never thought about using it on the court. I'll have to try it tomorrow. No wonder Novak is a great champion.
I love this video! Thank you. The highlight for me was the positive way Novak perceives not staying in the present; instead of berating himself for getting out of the present moment, he congratulates himself on a short recovery time from being off-track to on-track mentally. Great perspective for those of us who have a hard time with meditating and a “traveling” mind in general.
His talk was so insightful!!
Wow Ashley, many thanks for showing us these trips week after week! I will definitely implement meditation!
No problem, I’ve had a good run recently… I’m excited to edit next week’s video, I think you’ll love it!
Love this video, Ashley… great job.. Novak is like a zen master!
Thanks John! He is!!

this was awesome. bravo to novak, alex and asics for making some time for rec players and fans. subd
Absolutely, Asics have a great relationship with their athletes and find ways to help them to give back to their fans through stuff like this!
Fantastic video and wonderful insight from Djokovic. Thank you, Ashley! Looking forward to more of your videos. 😀

This was fascinating! I loved the whole thing! Very useful lessons to living a happy healthy life! The yoga and morning nutrition that Novak implements was the most interesting as well as his own words about staying present! Thanks for sharing! I appreciate you!
I’m glad you enjoyed it as much as I did!!
Part I found most interesting is the part of staying in the present. I guess it is question of training it to get longer and longer spans and be able to quickly go back in the zone when one loses focus. Thanks for the video
Yes, such a brilliant talk!
Great video. Great experience . Thank you.

Definitely the breathing as I'm a bit VERY scatty
Very nice, thanks a lot. Enjoyed it all.
Extremely interesting video my friend ! Adding to your tennis skills you are becoming a great reporter Ashley.
Thanks buddy 🙏🙏
One day with Novak is enlightenment, I'm not against Rafa or Federer but cmon this is kind of prophet, with others you will have shit day. I am Serb but this is bless for everything in this universe.
Kakav enlightment i Universe? Novak je skroz upao u new age religiju. Puni se demonskim energijama da osvoji meceve. Joga i meditacije su strogo zabranjene pravoslavnim hriscanima . Dzaba mu sve kad je prodao dusu djavolu i promovise WEF agende po Srbiji
Awesome video, Ashley! I'm a fan of kefir too, I really like the taste and texture.
Novak ❤❤
Thank you for sharing ❤❤❤.
You’re welcome!
Awesome Ashley !
I appreciate this video a lot, although I would have to point out that his morning routine also includes lemon water first thing in the morning followed by celery juice on an empty stomach, then followed by a green juice and some fruits. He explains it in an interview on KZhead with Graham Bensinger, which is an update from his diet outlined in his book Serve to Win. Great video nonetheless.
Thanks for sharing James!
Exactly. He and his wife are following Anthony William the Medical Medium protocols which includes lemon water as first thing in the morning following with 16 oz of celery juice.
Wonderful video. Thanks
Incredible
This is amazing.

Very interesting and useful. Important from my experience is that everybody is unique and don`t just copy a tecnique 1-1 because SOMEBODY does it. Find it tailored to your own experience. Get inspired and then decide what feels best for yourself. A world class athlete cooks with water, too :)
very cool video so awesome!
Thanks Peter, I hope you’re well!
It is COMPLETELY possible to stay present, BUT, you have to breathe a lot, 2-5 day self isolated constant breathing time, by changing body position when necessary, not allowing body pain to kick in. And breathing without visualisation. Why? Because visualisation requires brain energy (exerts effort) and even that exerted energy is not necessary. Conscious breathing on one spot just OUTSIDE THE BODY. So you focus basically on a spot of air outside the body, before it enters the nostrils. This is meditation without any visualisation, and excludes body completely. Over a a few days constant conscious breathing, your body recovers at a such a high rate, plus, charging the energy in the sphere just outside your body. What happens soon is you began breathing on your skin. Your breath is so low, you stop using lungs. So, when you exit the self imposed breathing retreat, go and exersise, you will find yourself FULL OF Energy, go practice tennis for 3-4 hours intensely, and see if you will get tired at all?In my experience, (I am not an athlete, but do heavy work around the house), after such intense breathing time (3-5 days), I don't feel tired at all, and nit only that, but the next day there is no recovery time either, I keep going completely rejuvenated (bear in mind not to use speech, because speaking takes a lot of energy). I agree with Novak, that it is more about accepting loss of concentration, rather than forcing oneself "be in the now".
Great post, thanks! A little clarification, please. When you say focus on a "spot of air outside the body," does that mean feel or visualize a spot just in front of the nostrils, and you draw air in from this spot, and your attention is always on this spot, not thinking about the air itself, but this spot where it comes from? So basically your attention is always outside of the body, at least JUST outside?
@@broadcasttttable you DONT THINK about idea of 'air', idea of "spot" , you are not "feeling" the air, , you dont "visualise spot in the air" outside your nostrils (yes, only the spot when you draw the air in, but outside the body). There is no "thinking or feeling". Just FOCUS, just your ATTENTION is what matters. This is a bit hard at the beginning, but do not worry if you find yourself doing all the above. Just bring your focus back. The aim is to eventually "switch off the body" and stop breathing on the lungs, and breathe on the skin, and stop " "feeling the body" on the inside" ". ie. during all this time, you aim not to feel any even slightest discomfort in the body. That is why feel free to change positions any time(sitting, lying down, reclining etc). If you feel cold or warm in the body, again, just, bring your attention outside of your body, ourside your nostrils, where you draw the air. You are thus developing focus, developing concentration, you do not think "i am looking", or "i am the observer". The aim is you stop thinking altogether, and go beyond concepts, conceptualisation. Excluding speech is vital, as talking spends a lot of energy. And breathing exercise is all about "accumulation of energy". And that energy then you later spend in playing sport, not "your body energy", that is why the body doesn't get tired, because body is not used in the first place. If you talk, you are effectively spending energy fast which you just accumulated in breathing. So it is useless. It won't work. And, overall, don't think or worry, am I doing this right? Just your intention to develop concentration and accumulate energy is perfect, is enough. Even if you still think, or still feel the body, do not worry. Just focus, just attention. Just attend. Sometimes the aim, thinking about aim itself can be an obstruction. Like "I should be feeling this" or "I should be feeling that". You cannot do anything "wrong". It is just intention, the intent that matters. Just focus. I hope this helps. And do not worry if you fall asleep multiple times. Breathing can make you often drowsy and sleepy. The most important time for breathing is 3am - 6 am (before, during and after sunrise).
😂😂😂 Alex De Minour 😂😂😂😂 Are you kidding??? Alex who??? He has been so disrespectful to Novak, and Novak actually promised that every time they meet will be aiming to beat him up convincingly.. like 6:0 6:0 6:0
Shut up fanboy
Lol! I too had to do a double-take to confirm the presence of that rat 😂. I despise him. He was so disrespectful last year with his perverse smirks. He was so happy to see Novak getting humiliated. I too wish to see this guy decimated by Novak with a lot of bagels and breadsticks.
Djokovic is a Monster
Ash, Djokovic's routine was interesting.I was ropped into Pilates yesterday. I was only man with 20 women. (you can judge on that !) Sort of stretching with meditation and definitely has its physical and mental benefit.
I am not a fan of him, but after the Final first time I saw a man who has real tears. Was very though game for both. This video was great. It's fascinating people always look at him and Federer super skinny but the power and strength come from technique and special backgrounds. Was good to see this. Thank you Ashley was great video as usual.
Thanks for watching! Yes, I really felt for him yesterday, it was good to see true emotion… sometimes he’s almost too good at hiding it!!
I saw in another video that he starts out with lemon water the 20 minutes later he has celery juice on empty stomach then 30 min after that he has a wild blue berry detox smoothie
Thanks for sharing! Athletes change their routines, but as you saw what his team showed us through here was fairly similar to what you saw in another video.
Aren’t soya milks etc processed?
Truly trivial.
I wish you would’ve interviewed BENCIC!!!*(
Me too!
definitely. Blenda please.@@TheTennisMentor
Novak's Body type is Vata Dosha, it would be virtually impossible for him to stay in Present Moment. A vata dosha mind is a wandering mind. As correctly mentioned by him, breathing is a good ingredient to stay in present. I have personally spent months being in the present moment, what happens after is that the experience of time ceases to exist. If you stay in present moment, the concentration is so high, that for you 5 mins will be like 5 days. It passes by so quickly. Do I recommend this? Nope. It is worth an experience though. While you are reading this, do not be surprised about what I am saying. Just try to recollect a time when you were pursuing your hobby or passion - time simply flies. The truth is, we all have our own timezones and how we experience life. What we are following in this world is the timezone of earth in relation to the sun. Reality is, you have your own time cycle and it changes moment by moment (not hour, minutes, seconds).
Appreciate that video , really fine and cocky😮
The next edward r murrow or hunter s thompson.
Can you do a bag check video
Sure… it’s about time I did an updated one!

00:02 arguably?
very cool that he is a vegan... I have a new appreciation for him after watching this. An amazing man for sure!
Great shoes but trust me when you’re a beast at defense you go through these fast, one a week. I know from experience. With this being said I can’t finish short balls or make my own pace hahaha.
what's concisious breathing ?
I hope Novak starts his podcast when he retires in 10 years time!
If Nole is Zen, why is he having lots of difficulty controlling his emotions during tense moments?
*begins breathing manually*
I am a super fan of Djokovic. If I were him I won't tell exactly what I eat if I consider it a competitive advantage in my work. So I guess you need to cross his shoe partner info with other info. 1. About his vegan diet as you say, Djokovic 's wife says he is Medical medium vegan which means as you say only healing energy food intake. That is the reason why there is no peanut butter or dairy at breakfast. Your break fast is high fat and high protein diet even if it is vegan (if you don't use kefir of milk). 2. About his juice Djokovic had 2 others juices before breakfast. I guess, to apply medical. Medium. Informatiom. 3. I personally dislike to hear Djokovic is vegan. Because honey is not vegan and because we don't really know as medical medium is not provegan but against hight fat diets. For sure Djokovic eats vegan breakfast but I am not sure for the rest of the day. You should ask for an hotel where he stayed in London. And let us know. Good luck. For your next videos about mental coaching OF Djokovic. I will comment it ❤❤
Watch the video where he explains what he eats in a day. It’s not quite like this video for example he doesn’t eat anything but fruit/veg/juices until the evening he doesn’t mention honey and says he eats fully plantbased
@@outta-sync6474 why do you tell me that? In the video you comment he said "Manuka (honey)" is part of the food experience that the sponsor organize for you. I said if you wish to comment that if Djokovic is vegan, he is medical medium style vegan. Read what he said about medical medium books and work " Anthony (alias Medical Medium) has turned numerous lives around for the better with healing powers of celery juice". Plantbased is the new vegan, but it is a philosophy which brings to phlilosophical food war. Djokovic eats not for philosophical issues but for longevity, to heal the real causes of his asthma. Please Google "medical medium + jelena djokovic" or "asthma + medical medium" specially the "food to avoid" list to heal (not to be vegan) so we can talk about. Love.
I think Novak needs to get rid of that number on his shoes (especially if he wants to get more slams)... just imagine, you look after each point at shoes and you see 23, just like some kind of destination number.
would you like try his diet?
Yes, I would
Breathing
The strict vegan diet is very inspiring. Its hard to be like that on regular days doing regular activities...
Nel suo libro non dice di essere vegano. È allergico al glutine, no ai latticini,ai dolci e all'alcool se non in occasioni particolari. Sì ai legumi, molti vegetali e frutta
This is not Novak’s morning routine.
Your fired
I though Novak isn't vegan anymore. I think he added fish to his diet few years ago
De Minaur?? 😂😂😂🤡🤡
He has too many career choices after retirement. Spiritual evelangist or psychologist or yoga therapist 😅😂
Psychologist 😂 you need degrees for that
He's not vegan.. He follows a plant based diet. Nice video though!
1 Samuel 30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David ENCOURAGED HIMSELF in the LORD his God.✝️
Is he really eating a vegan diet?
Pretty much, although he prefers to label it as plant based as he’s not 100% strict with it!
