The GOAT Of Routines?? I Tested Novak Djokovic’s Morning Routine
I met arguably the Greatest Tennis Player of All Time recently and tested out his morning routine.
Novak Djokovic is known for how well he takes care of his mind and body so I was really intrigued to find out how he starts his day!
How does your morning routine compare?

  • I love this video! Thank you. The highlight for me was the positive way Novak perceives not staying in the present; instead of berating himself for getting out of the present moment, he congratulates himself on a short recovery time from being off-track to on-track mentally. Great perspective for those of us who have a hard time with meditating and a “traveling” mind in general.

  • It is COMPLETELY possible to stay present, BUT, you have to breathe a lot, 2-5 day self isolated constant breathing time, by changing body position when necessary, not allowing body pain to kick in. And breathing without visualisation. Why? Because visualisation requires brain energy (exerts effort) and even that exerted energy is not necessary. Conscious breathing on one spot just OUTSIDE THE BODY. So you focus basically on a spot of air outside the body, before it enters the nostrils. This is meditation without any visualisation, and excludes body completely. Over a a few days constant conscious breathing, your body recovers at a such a high rate, plus, charging the energy in the sphere just outside your body. What happens soon is you began breathing on your skin. Your breath is so low, you stop using lungs. So, when you exit the self imposed breathing retreat, go and exersise, you will find yourself FULL OF Energy, go practice tennis for 3-4 hours intensely, and see if you will get tired at all?In my experience, (I am not an athlete, but do heavy work around the house), after such intense breathing time (3-5 days), I don't feel tired at all, and nit only that, but the next day there is no recovery time either, I keep going completely rejuvenated (bear in mind not to use speech, because speaking takes a lot of energy). I agree with Novak, that it is more about accepting loss of concentration, rather than forcing oneself "be in the now".

    @HigherChannel@HigherChannel9 ай бұрын
    • Great post, thanks! A little clarification, please. When you say focus on a "spot of air outside the body," does that mean feel or visualize a spot just in front of the nostrils, and you draw air in from this spot, and your attention is always on this spot, not thinking about the air itself, but this spot where it comes from? So basically your attention is always outside of the body, at least JUST outside?

      @broadcasttttable@broadcasttttable9 ай бұрын
    • @@broadcasttttable you DONT THINK about idea of 'air', idea of "spot" , you are not "feeling" the air, , you dont "visualise spot in the air" outside your nostrils (yes, only the spot when you draw the air in, but outside the body). There is no "thinking or feeling". Just FOCUS, just your ATTENTION is what matters. This is a bit hard at the beginning, but do not worry if you find yourself doing all the above. Just bring your focus back. The aim is to eventually "switch off the body" and stop breathing on the lungs, and breathe on the skin, and stop " "feeling the body" on the inside" ". ie. during all this time, you aim not to feel any even slightest discomfort in the body. That is why feel free to change positions any time(sitting, lying down, reclining etc). If you feel cold or warm in the body, again, just, bring your attention outside of your body, ourside your nostrils, where you draw the air. You are thus developing focus, developing concentration, you do not think "i am looking", or "i am the observer". The aim is you stop thinking altogether, and go beyond concepts, conceptualisation. Excluding speech is vital, as talking spends a lot of energy. And breathing exercise is all about "accumulation of energy". And that energy then you later spend in playing sport, not "your body energy", that is why the body doesn't get tired, because body is not used in the first place. If you talk, you are effectively spending energy fast which you just accumulated in breathing. So it is useless. It won't work. And, overall, don't think or worry, am I doing this right? Just your intention to develop concentration and accumulate energy is perfect, is enough. Even if you still think, or still feel the body, do not worry. Just focus, just attention. Just attend. Sometimes the aim, thinking about aim itself can be an obstruction. Like "I should be feeling this" or "I should be feeling that". You cannot do anything "wrong". It is just intention, the intent that matters. Just focus. I hope this helps. And do not worry if you fall asleep multiple times. Breathing can make you often drowsy and sleepy. The most important time for breathing is 3am - 6 am (before, during and after sunrise).

  • Novak's Body type is Vata Dosha, it would be virtually impossible for him to stay in Present Moment. A vata dosha mind is a wandering mind. As correctly mentioned by him, breathing is a good ingredient to stay in present. I have personally spent months being in the present moment, what happens after is that the experience of time ceases to exist. If you stay in present moment, the concentration is so high, that for you 5 mins will be like 5 days. It passes by so quickly. Do I recommend this? Nope. It is worth an experience though. While you are reading this, do not be surprised about what I am saying. Just try to recollect a time when you were pursuing your hobby or passion - time simply flies. The truth is, we all have our own timezones and how we experience life. What we are following in this world is the timezone of earth in relation to the sun. Reality is, you have your own time cycle and it changes moment by moment (not hour, minutes, seconds).

  • I am a super fan of Djokovic. If I were him I won't tell exactly what I eat if I consider it a competitive advantage in my work. So I guess you need to cross his shoe partner info with other info. 1. About his vegan diet as you say, Djokovic 's wife says he is Medical medium vegan which means as you say only healing energy food intake. That is the reason why there is no peanut butter or dairy at breakfast. Your break fast is high fat and high protein diet even if it is vegan (if you don't use kefir of milk). 2. About his juice Djokovic had 2 others juices before breakfast. I guess, to apply medical. Medium. Informatiom. 3. I personally dislike to hear Djokovic is vegan. Because honey is not vegan and because we don't really know as medical medium is not provegan but against hight fat diets. For sure Djokovic eats vegan breakfast but I am not sure for the rest of the day. You should ask for an hotel where he stayed in London. And let us know. Good luck. For your next videos about mental coaching OF Djokovic. I will comment it ❤❤

      @outta-sync6474@outta-sync64749 ай бұрын
    • @@outta-sync6474 why do you tell me that? In the video you comment he said "Manuka (honey)" is part of the food experience that the sponsor organize for you. I said if you wish to comment that if Djokovic is vegan, he is medical medium style vegan. Read what he said about medical medium books and work " Anthony (alias Medical Medium) has turned numerous lives around for the better with healing powers of celery juice". Plantbased is the new vegan, but it is a philosophy which brings to phlilosophical food war. Djokovic eats not for philosophical issues but for longevity, to heal the real causes of his asthma. Please Google "medical medium + jelena djokovic" or "asthma + medical medium" specially the "food to avoid" list to heal (not to be vegan) so we can talk about. Love.

  • I think Novak needs to get rid of that number on his shoes (especially if he wants to get more slams)... just imagine, you look after each point at shoes and you see 23, just like some kind of destination number.

    • Nel suo libro non dice di essere vegano. È allergico al glutine, no ai latticini,ai dolci e all'alcool se non in occasioni particolari. Sì ai legumi, molti vegetali e frutta

    • Pretty much, although he prefers to label it as plant based as he’s not 100% strict with it!
