    • Lmao exactly I don't even see the point in movie critics because it's the normal people/fans who watch movies that actually tell you truthfully if a movie is good or not. Allot of these critics complain about movies that majority of the world loves so that says something about a critics opinion. Then it's the critics who love movies that are completely trash and most normal people agree on the movie being trash. I've never gone wrong listening to normal non critics opinion but have gone wrong many a time listening to a critic.

  • Short answer: The film was pretty amazing. Rotten tomatoes is usually like this when it comes to movies that aren't serious and grounded, despite if the movie was good or not. I'd recommend getting your answer from the audience scores instead, as they aren't from those heavy critics who want to criticize the film instead of seeing what's good about it. As of writing this, the audience score is a very good 93%.

    • @@Matt_Gon.23this actually has nothing to do with Godzilla minus one. It does however have to do with the shallow/lazy writing of the monsterverse. They have some Major problems with the lore and forbidden knowledge, lost civilizations in correlation to everything, I believe that is where the human story is for the monsterverse. The search and fight over lost lore, tech, and civilizations. We see this sprinkled throughout the monsterverse but they never lean into it. They could flush out Apex, Monarch, and the Eco Terrorist this way as they would be at odds trying to utilize what they find to advance their positions financially in the world or protect something... Etc.

    • Adam Wingard, the director, said that from the titans perspective, they are pretty fast. From the human perspective, the titans now seem slower. One example is when Godzilla’s tail is destroying a building in Rio De Janiero while tackling Shimo from the humans perspective. You could see the tail movemenet being very slow and you can feel weight. It’s like a fly with a human. For a fly, a human running would be pretty slow. For a human, it would be normal. The reason why you think the titans are moving so fast and it is unrealistic, even though from all the human POV they look slow, it is because they show more titan perspective than human perspective.

  • This was an entertaining film. And that is the overall point of this franchise. To entertain the audience with it's Monster Verse. I've seen terrible movies and this is not one of those. I loved that we got to see Kongs yearning to find his ancestors and his development as a monster. He is not the strongest but with the help of Monarch and the infinity gauntlet. He levels up and is able to hold his ground against Godzilla but there is still a lot more room for growth in Kongs case. I loved that Godzilla got a new look going Super Saiyan Rose and they made him way more mobile and flexible. He moves faster and more realistic than the stiff Godzilla we were used to. I can't wait to see what the next film brings. Maybe another Kong and Godzilla team up or maybe Kong will finally be ready for a rematch now that he has an army of Chimps or Orangutans.

It didn’t try to take itself seriously and was was just nonstop action. I made me want to look for other monster movies and I noticed that Godzilla minus 1 will be streaming soon. The movie from the trailers reminds me of the old classic Godzilla movie a grew up with. To me the last good monster movie was 1976 Kong and not because of the special effects but the actors and story.

  • I absolutely enjoyed every moment a monster was on screen. They made the monsters more like humans, and the actual humans were somewhat likable. As said in the video the film is certainly focused more on the Monke aspect than the lizard aspect, to the *mild* dismay of me, a Godzilla fan. Still, the time that the G man is on screen leaves a huge impression, with him wiping the floor with monsters left and right. He’s still about as important as kong to me, even though the evolved version didn’t change much in terms of new abilities. Skar king is such a well developed villain, and he definitely gets his message of „evil ape tyrant” across. However, the one character that felt underdeveloped to me was Shimo. While her presence was menacing, I found her screentime to be a bit lacking and less impactful than Godzilla’s. The humans barely elaborate on Shimo, leaving it to be a pretty mysterious creature. The major problem with Shimo is that while the three other titans feel very human, Shimo still feels like an animal with not a lot of personality compared to Skar. She very much has the impression of being a portable laser cannon for Skar’s ape army rather than a fleshed out character. Still, this movie is GREAT!

  • My thoughts, I agree with the overall rating of 8. I saw it in 3D and enjoyed it. IMO the pace was better than GvK and was not an issue, for me. I only noticed the music at about a handful of spots. The 50/50 split between human and monster scenes was a good balance. We didn't need to focus on what Monarch was doing as a whole, just keep the focus on the group that we had like the movie did for a majority of the human side of the film. I appreciate that the trailers didn't show us any major plot twists, as too many movies tend to do nowadays. There was a fun cameo at the end of the opening scene, and yes a couple things people had speculated on from the trailers were correct (ie The part of the trailer with Kong and Goji roaring at the Pyramids, and the crystal on the end of the Skar King's whip). As it was said we all knew (or at least should have) that this was going to be a Kong-centric movie with Goji helping out. I might even go again to watch in IMAX.

    • Same, I will not rely on those critic reviews forever, because in the end our own opinions are matters.

  • The monster verse needs a titan ape that can fire beams from its mouth like DBZ Oozaru. Physically up to scale as King Kong and has special vocal organs that can generate powerful sonic blasts when it roars

  • In my opinion, Godzilla wasn’t even in Godzilla versus Kong that much either. Kong had the most story and that’s fine cause you can relate with Kong better than Godzilla, but that doesn’t change the fact that he is the king of the monsters.

    • This is a continuation of what I was talking about earlier. Also, I felt Godzilla vs Kong was also very fast paste I mean the fights weren’t really that long at all.

      @Kingofviz@KingofvizАй бұрын
    • @@Kingofvizit’s the same in gxk. Though kong has some drawn out encounters where he basically becomes first blood rambo.

    • The movie is ABOUT Kong finding his family. Goji is like that one side character who wrecks everyone. You can't expect goji screen time in a movie where a giant monke is trying to find his family. Exactly the problem with the critics

  • Theress a reason rhe monsterverse is loved. It is made by fans for fans. Its a modern showa, qlbiet with some seriousness of older movies. The comedy is well done, as some.out of pocket moments really mare everyone laugh. Godsilla x kong doesnt follow hollywoods agendas, that's why its hated.
