Loophole’s are always found by the smartest people in the room. Not ever their fault the rules weren’t written airtight, that’s the fault of the rule makers
When Leeds found a loophole, they charged them and fined them 200k anyway.
Hardly, knowingly exploiting a loophole that will cause financial punishment when found out is not generally a smart thing to do
@@MBedford1 If it's a loophole in the rulebook then you can't be punished for it. The entire point is that you've found something you can do that the rules that don't say you can be punished, if you break the rules then you can be punished. Otherwise you can just sue them because they're punishing you for not having broken a rule

The EFL have now deducted ten points from Derby, Wigan and Reading.
And added those points to Manchester City
Leicester City isn't in facing the same issues those clubs faced
2022/23 Leicester took a £50m loan from Asian banks to cover last seasons costs of not being in Europe. And then did the same last summer for £50m to cover not even being in the prem! Theyre £100m in debt to BANKS. This didn’t end well with bank loans for Leeds 2004 and Portsmouth in 2009

Nah more like a huge * next to every trophy won in last decade like it's not 115 FC fans fault for their clubs cheated but a nice little * to every achievement will be a nice touch.
If there was just a standard ratio for points deduction to millions over allowed losses clubs would soon take it more seriously. Even if it 0.2 points for every million
That only works if it is then rounded to nearest point. Imagine loosing title because of 0.2 points. Also after the first 0.2 point deduction, why should clubs care about the next 3 because it's unlikely that teams around them will be in decimals on the same points as them.
That wouldn't work for lower league teams as well as they aren't normally millions over so they would lose like one point at max which isn't enough

If loopholes are exploited,then make rules watertight,and instead of the Premier League giving teams 3 years to get their finances in order,check the books at the end of every season,no 115 charges,no Chelsea,Everton,Forest,or anyone else facing financial irregularity hearings then,maybe !
If it's every season there is nothing stopping a team from spending a billion pounds one season, getting a FFP charge for it, then getting a ten point reduction reduced to six and then following FFP every other season with an absolutely stacked team at the cost of a six point deduction. By doing it for every three seasons they would pick up three charges which would be FAR more serious
Break the rules and get promoted and you get away with it, not the the first club to do it and won’t be the last

@@Blackfyre_93 If they wasn’t a shoe in for automatic promotion then their reply would be different is what I’m saying. They gambled and won and other clubs will try to match it yet as we know only three clubs can get promoted but more will lose money trying to chase them.

Seriously though screw the EFL for bothering with this when they can't even be arsed to conduct fit and proper owner checks on lower league clubs who are being bought cheap, having their assets stripped and slowly wound up because the person who bought them had no intention of making the clubs financially stable or don't have the accumen nor financial clout to take them on in the first place.

@limpethead Technically they're not allowed to drag claims out for years without a court being involved. And if they were "dragging it out" with their lawyers, wouldn't that imply that the rules ARE being applied to them, but they are fighting to appeal the charges? And this video is about EFL rules, I'm not even sure why the big 6 is even relevant here.

Not enough is done financially for Championship clubs. The gap between a relegated Premier League team and a team who’s never been promoted to the Premier League is ridiculous. You’ve got relegated Premier League sides being able to spend £15m on one player.. Other clubs can barely even spend £1m on a player… This is why you repeatedly keep getting the same clubs being promoted/relegated over and over again.. Burnley, Norwich, West Brom, Sheff Utd etc..
Yeah parachute payments need to be scrapped I would love to see Millwall in the prem for a season to see the shitehousery that follows or QPR and Blackburn but with parachute payments the advantage the relegated clubs have is too big and that needs to change.
They will be a awful lot of solicitors busy for next season should Leicester go up

Good for the EFL. Clubs need to reduce their obscene wage bill and inflated transfer spending habits for their men’s sides which seems to be the main problem.

A load of nonsense this, how can they be made to submit accounts in-line with a Championship club when the accounting period is for when they played in the Premier League 🤣. The club isn’t going to decide half way through the season, we will be a Championship club next year so better cut the spending in-line with Championship clubs. 🤣
They better retroactively punish them after the loophole is closed given what they did with Derby when they closed a loophole they used to dodge ffp

@@natty187 they still haven't complied with a rule that the EFL has with the business plan being proposed since they're forecasted to break the rules. That's what it's for. Let's also not forget that Leicester broke ffp 10 years ago when they were last promoted to the premier league and they weren't punished.
@tombardsley3081 apparently they didn't have to, that is why the rule is being changed.... But you cant quite punish someone for *not as yet* breaking a rule... ie losing money which they have not yet....
@@natty187 true but they didn't follow a rule that the EFL has and Leicester's excuse was 'they were a premier league team so the rule doesn't apply to us' when actually they are a part of the EFL. It leads to so many possible issues if it is not addressed, especially if Leicester break the rules. There's been a history of teams getting away with massive financial losses that exceed ffp cos they got promoted to the premier league.

Dodgy Leicester. Got away with it twice with the EFL. Good old Lineker and his contacts.
FFP is wrong. Before FFP there was no issue for Football in General.
Apart from clubs going bust left, right and centre chasing unsustainable ambitions.
No parachute payments are wrong they have single handedly ruined the competition in the championship which has caused clubs that break the mold and win a playoff to act irrationally and spend crazy so they can stay in prem for a few years to cash in on parachute payments when eventually relegated.
So no points deduction possible, just completely wasted 5 mins listening to this and nothing is happening
Leicester didn't refuse or find a loophole, they just followed the rules. This reporting is terrible

Cmon man, this is not news. You are overreacting to this, Leceister didn’t do anything nearing “115 charges” English football is determined to punish English clubs when other FAs in other countries try to do everything to ensure their clubs are competitive against other leagues.
Manchester City. So they act on a club that have not even violated anything yet, but don’t act on actual violations (115) for Man City. A bad look to say the least.

So, all the teams who finished directly above Leeds Utd. at the end of last season basically cheated. These rules need tightening and enforcing, to punish teams within the same season as their rule breaking occurs. The following season is no good because the damage has already been done to other teams who didn't break the rules.

No, football is not a mess. What problem is that the rules are in place so a team doesn’t get itself bankrupted. This is about how much of a total loss a club is allowed over the years, where I still feel like it’s allowing a lot of millions to go on losses actually. Another thing is that the ffp rules are there so no club becomes all of a sudden a top without earning it in football aspect or investments, but all thanks to a multimillionaire/multibillionaire that bought the club and spends from his pocket a hundreds of millions or a billion at once for 18, 20 players and a new manager to win trophies within a season. While other clubs uses the money they make thanks to their investments, players from academy and becoming a top team through progress. Not becoming a top overnight, through someone that done nothing in football or doesn’t know football but just throws around a billion pound on players and new top manager.

@thisismyhandleokay If you don't have business men in football, almost all clubs would be bankrupted or so. They bring stability in fhe club actions. They bring structure and so on to help the club progress. But not any business man can do the job right. That business man needs to understand how football works, the rules, law and so on. Fans can't do it. Look at Barcelona, perfect example of normal fans can't do it. Look at Man Utd, perfect example that any business man can't do it.
