    • Keithnicity Thats because no one else tries out new bits on talk shows period. It takes balls to do that. And I would happily choose to watch Seinfeld test out bits on talk shows over all the other comedians who actually do OLD BITS on talk shows that I’ve already seen them do in their stand up specials.

    • Jerry is old school. Back in the day, comedians did not pretend to have a conversation with Johnny, they would just do their comedy AT him. @Depression Beard no way dude. Most comedians do not rehash bits from released specials for talk show appearances, that would be career suicide

      @lynnturman8157@lynnturman81575 жыл бұрын
    • I wouldn't even consider it trying out bits, it's just that since Jerry is a comedian, he thinks of every topic in a comedic way and delivers everything like a bit. I work on a talk show and our guests discuss what they'll talk about before the show, but someone say Kim Kardashian if asked to talk about her thanksgiving, wouldn't be able to come up with anything funny to say since she's not a comedian. She would just rely on the host to make it funny.

    @kjs351@kjs3515 жыл бұрын
    • I was thinking the same thing. Jerry is the same age as Jimmy's parents! And it was nice of Jimmy to let Jerry do his thing without pointing out the truth: Jerry is 64 years old, an old guy about to qualify for senior discounts whose oldest child is over 18. Jimmy just turned 44, a comparatively young man (and much newer dad, raising a couple of toddlers) who is NOT "of a certain age." Jerry is pretty much grandpa age. Jimmy can still wear whatever jeans he wants! I remember in the early 90s, years before his marriage, Jerry dated Shoshana Lonstein, who was my age: at the time she was an 18 year old living in Manhattan (she then went to GWU in DC, after a few years broke up with Jerry, eventually married someone else, and she's now a successful fashion designer). Shoshana is a year younger than Jimmy Fallon: at the time Jerry's relationship was was a HUGE scandal because of the several-decades age difference and the fact that his girlfriend had to move out of her shared DC dormatory to a private apartment in Foggy Bottom with girlfriends to avoid paparazzi as a new college student. (Jerry's eventual marriage to Jessica was also a scandal because when they met and he proposed she had just married someone else... but that's ancient history now.). Point is NO. Jerry, you CAN lump yourself in with Jimmy as a married family man, and you can lump yourself in with Jimmy as a comedian living in NYC but even for comedy you can't pretend to be anything close to the same age demographic.
